  1. Yeah it sounds more about changing the process going forward. If it makes the AFL more proactive with injury management then great. Frankly I’m all for it, and same goes for having medical imaging available at the ground.
  2. To be fair, Mother Theresa could promote this Parma and I would still maintain it sounds awful 😂
  3. It sounds horrible to be honest 😂
  4. Good news. Had a great season and is a leader we could absolutely use around the club.
  5. Stringer to Pies is the most perfect outcome. He and De Goey in Bali. Stunning.
  6. Pick 5? For Cerra who spends more time rehabbing his hammy than playing? Hmmmm no
  7. He’s nothing like Gus. I honestly think North would be foolish not to go after him. They need experience and leadership. He’s a decent player who has gotten a lot out of himself. Could protect some of their younger mids and set standards.
  8. No. McRae has languished in the VFL most of the year. As if he wouldn’t ask for a trade. He’s good enough to play senior football.
  9. He could replace Melksham, who has a year left at best. He could also be good depth for injury cover, likewise he could free Turner to play down back as needed. We are one injury away from having to resort to playing Jefferson or Kentfield as key forwards. Not ideal if we are pushing for a flag.
  10. I have never heard them being taken anywhere else. It is the closest private hospital. Btw it’s up to the paramedics to decide where to take a player. Not up to the club.
  11. Every player who is taken to hospital from the MCG goes to the Epworth. It’s the closest private hospital. And of course players get taken to a private hospital so they can be seen to immediately. If the ambulance took him to the Alfred with nothing more than suspected broken ribs, he’d be in the waiting room for 4+ hours before anyone would even see him. At a level 1 trauma centre, broken ribs rate very low on the triage scale. Also a reminder that Melbourne has no say in his care the minute he gets into an ambulance. Another reminder is May being sent directly to hospital after breaking his ribs the first time, because he indicated trouble breathing (due to the lung puncture he sustained). If Trac at any point said he couldn’t breath, his pain was a 10, or he wasn’t willing to get back on the ground, does anyone really think we would have told him “well suck it up”? There is absolutely no evidence we would have done that.
  12. You didn’t explain to me on what grounds he wins a grievance hearing? If he wants to be traded, we will trade him. What he can’t do is demand to be traded to a club of his choice for way less than he’s worth, because in his (non medically factual) opinion he wasn’t treated properly post injury. That’s not how the AFL works.
  13. Yep and in this grievance case what will he say? Medical process was followed in accordance to the rules, but I feel emotionally hurt so I want to be traded. Oh wait, I ONLY want to be traded to Carlton or Collingwood because my spleen recovered but my brand has not 🙄😂
  14. The amount of players who have returned to play following a HEAD KNOCK, goes completely unnoticed yet this is news? Because Kozzie got suspended for 3 weeks for apparently concussing Moore, who somehow played 10 whole minutes following said head knock without a single assessment. How curious this didn’t make any news at all. Either install MRI machines at all AFL venues, or rule all players with rib pain out of games. Do not come after us because we are an easy target. Multiple doctors misdiagnosed him. Including in a hospital setting. But somehow it’s a story because the MFC is the punching bag of the media, and apparently of the Petracca brand too.
  15. The AFLPA can take it up with the AFL to change their procedures. It has nothing to do with the club. We followed the right protocols. End of story. And if Trac wants to continue to find ways to damage the club, he needs to think long and hard about what it’s going to do to his career.
  16. Hamish Blake is another prominent Melbourne man who has a big profile, and two of the Sushi Mango trio who are massive on social media. Not to mention that our president’s partner is a news presenter for channel 10. If we can’t leverage some of these connections to build a platform then we’ve failed.
  17. Who is talking about moving clubs? This is about attracting new supporters and sponsors, and engaging supporters who are non committal. This is 2024 FFS. Social media presence really matters in such a lucrative market!
  18. Depends if he wants us to use his brand to further our own, which I am guessing right now is a firm no. I also think his personal platform with the cooking is quite niche for football supporters. It's about expanding his brand beyond AFL, which is a clever thing to do for someone heading towards 30. He is actually not that much of a natural media performer IMO. We have players who I reckon would do better in promoting the brand. People in their late 30s are not our target audience. If you're in your late 30s and you are a club member, then you are committed for life. It's about gaining and keeping supporters in their teens and early 20s, who are fickle and can quickly lose interest in footy if they are not being engaged.
  19. His personal account has Dees related stuff. OnTrac5 does not.
  20. Hawks social media team deserves a bonus. Phenomenal numbers across all platforms St Kilda’s TikToks are quite self deprecating, which I reckon has gained them a lot of followers. Because they are the least exciting brand in the game otherwise. West Coast being terrible lately has really hurt their TikTok numbers hey? It’s the newest platform in terms of mass engagement and it shows the clubs who have been down or behind the trends
  21. Collingwood has 161,000 fans who can read? I call BS!
  22. He refuses to pose with Melbourne merch these days, says his brand is being damaged by our poor culture. He's such a diva 😁 By the way, players with their pets = social media GOLD. Clarry has two mini Bears, and I reckon if the social media team got them wearing little Melbourne jumpers, that would get us 50k likes instantly... 49,999 of those likes would be from me.
  23. 100% This is where doing "lives" is really really effective, because it keeps you engaged for longer than the normal 7 seconds most people spend on a post. Especially for say interstate games where the players are together. Run a live during their dinner, and ask them what they're eating. That sounds boring as hell, but when you have an emotional attachment to players, you would lap up that content. If teenage girls are given the opportunity to watch Trent Rivers get ready for a game, they would be all over it. Also player take overs on socials would be a great way to gain younger followers. If you can get our younger players to do some silly TikTok dance trends, that would get good engagement numbers too, especially if you're using a song that is showing up on everyone's algorithm. Anyways, if the MFC marketing team is reading this thread, feel free to steal our ideas. We don't even want credit, just get better so I can get the teen living rent free in my house to start following the Dees. Thanks.
  24. Email marketing is useless for non-product related comms IMO. Even when we run offers and discounts at my work, the open rate for emails is super low. Most people just delete or unsubscribe. The App notifications is about the best thing that they've done in 20 years, and I reckon that's AFL not MFC as the app is the same for pretty much all clubs. 100%! The Hawks with the wizard hats is such a dumb but effective idea. Kolt has "Kult" figure written all over him. He doesn't even need to be a remarkable player either (which he might well be anyway). If he's charismatic enough, and I reckon he is, then he should do a heap of stuff on our socials. Remember Gawny doing interviews on our site years ago? He built himself a media profile doing that, while playing for Casey!
  25. That is an excellent point. It's how GWS gained such a following, by making fun of themselves. Get the players to put a cheese board together for all I care. That would be funny and you could use some product placement branding to make some money. And we don't use the girls enough. Even stupid things like a get ready with me for a game, would get a lot of engagement. Those things are always popping up on the algorithm. Not sure if anyone on social media has come across Jess Waterhouse from Adelaide, but they have a massive following and people are now following the Crows in the AFLW because of it.
