  1. Hey guys just to let u know u I'm heading down to Casey tonight , so I'll send through some updates and a report later tonight , so if any one has any questions I'll do my best , really hope tapscott , grimes , watts and gysberts put in a big one before round one !
  2. I agree with that jack viney could be a valuable source of info regarding players from this draft Was working it out and if we say finish 12th this year with bulldogs below us and Adelaide above us then we would be looking at picks 8 , 9 and 13 with pick 8 or 9 to be used on viney , if we finish below the bulldogs then our picks could be 6, 7 and 13(assuming we drop to 13th , which was where we finished last year ) So looking at some early phantom drafts and predictions on big footy we maybe be looking at players such as Nick Vlastuin ( northern knights) -Nathan Buckley style mid Mathew Haynes ( northern knights ) line breaking back flanker wingman Jonathon O'Rourke ( Calder cannons) inside and outside mid with very good skills Ben Kennedy (SA) potentially elite small forward /mid with outstanding tackle pressure Dayle Garlett (WA) small forward /midfielder with amazing skills and pace Does anyone know of other players who could be worth a look at come the end of year ?
  3. I would agree with this and honestley every club apart from maybe essendon has two mids with more class than any of ours even gws !! but I guess we just have to be smart with trading and our use of these compo picks
  4. Yeah there were a few bad kicks In a tricky cross wind , but I think u are just highlighting the bad , on a whole the skills were very good in my opinion , also it seems that the game plan is too go wide coming out of defence so with players leading wide a few balls got picked up by the wind, so that was bound to happen on occasions
  5. Hey guys, Got down to training this morning so here are a few observations ... • Overall the intensity of the session was really good players looked really switched on; • Ricky Petterd looked really sharp with his skills as did JB; • Cale Morton, despite all the shite he gets, was working hard and did quite well in the contested ball situations. In the match simulation drills and he definitely looks a bit bigger and stronger; • Lucas Cook and Jack Watts' kicking are terrific to watch; • the rehab group was the same, LJ completed a part of the main session which was good he is looking fit and skillful as ever, JV ran a whole heap of laps and looks like he could step into our midfield this season, shame we have to wait; • Jack Grimes didn't train with the main group obviously managing his loads carefully • James Sellar did a lot of the kicking out in the match simulation and I reckon he will play round 1 • one of the drills was focusing on blocking for each other against the opposition, a real area that needed work after last season; • Trenners' new nickname from the boys is skip of course, as always he is so professional with everything he does has that follow me aura about him! Can't wait for the intraclub next Friday! Happy to answer questions.
  6. Im in just joined the neeld league ,now that I've got my team for this year, How do I find my team score from last year ? I'm pretty sure I finished top 5000 last yr, so if I need to change leagues or what ever let me know
  7. Here's mine I think the back line is really interesting and I reckon we will garland play on small to medium players this and give us some real drive off half back, so I could see frawley , rivers, garland and sellar in the back line at times this year depending on the size of the opposition forwards, I've left out Sylvia due to suspension and davey as he needs to earn a position B bartram, frawley, rivers HB garland, sellar, bennell C nicholson, trengove, jones Hf Howe , watts , blease F jurrah, Clark , green Ruck jamar , moloney, gysberts Int Martin, mckenzie, tapacott, petterd What do people think ?
  8. Hey guys went down to training yesterday and this is my 1st report So a few observations from me.... First of all, as misson has said training sessions have progressed to more focus on the game plan and ball movement rather than fitness and running - The boys really do look a lot fitter this year , quite a few really have put on some good size in particular Howe, Nicholson and Watts - the skill level was really good in the wet, jones, gysberts and nicholoson looked to have improved their kicking - Lucas cook was really clean below his knees and his kicking is very good , with more body size he will be very good IMO - blease and Sylvia have got excellent acceleration and break away speed - jack watts' kicking is fantastic to watch, never really misses a target - clark has got a very good set of hands , he will be invaluable to our fwd line - Fitzpatrick has really been working hard on his kicking and is so quick for a big man - taggert and tynan's skills and intensity look good hard to tell that they are 1st yr players As said previously a lot of the drills were focussing on quick direct ball movement against pressure, I think we will se more kicking to long targets and less run and carry this year. As others have said mark neeld oversees and observes everything at training and the drills are run by the assistants. Aaron greaves is a very good communicator and will really help our midfield I reckon Can't wait for 2012 so pumped!
  9. Fair point much better to wait and use them in uncompromised drafts
  10. Based on where we finished this year really interesting to see what our scully compo pics would have got us in this years draft 1st round pick (straight after 12) Pick 13 - Taylor Adams mid 1st round pick (after other clubs that missed finals 1st round picks) Pick 19 - Elliot Kavanagh not bad if u ask me but with a stronger less compromised draft next year, and depending on where we finish, i reckon we should be in line for some good skillful midfielders to go along with Jack Viney Peoples thoughts?
  11. I reckon its a great idea to be in these guys ears, the amount of mids GWS have got is crazy, they surely cant fit them all in, and im sure a few will be after more opportunity and want to come home! have a look at this list !! they cant play them all its payback time in a couple of years!! $cully Ward Palmer Shiel Treloar Bugg Clifton Hampton Edwards Miles Darley Coniglio Tyson Hoskin-Elliot Haynes Sumner Greene Adams Smith
  12. Yeah i agree i prob shouldnt have posted it really , i think the rumour was complete crap, was just checking if anyone had heard if there was any truth to it
  13. im 100% sure that if we want him we keep him, we dont have to make a trade happen at all, its up to other clubs to make us want to trade him
  14. Hahaha oops sorry for stealing ur name mate , but i reckon i like our team the more Jacks the better!!
  15. Absolutley agree, they really have no clue do they! I feel dirty for even venturing on to their forum!! Cant believe some of the utter crap they come up with and it makes me really want us to smash them next year after reading it. I only posted the rumour to check there was no truth to it, we would be crazy to even think about trading blease, and if we did it would have to be for a deal hugely weighted in our favour!
  16. Hi guys long time reader first time poster reading on a couple of other forums (richmond) , apparentley those ferals think they are chance at getting Sam Blease, as always offering up pathetic draft picks and players in return http://www.puntroadend.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=44706.0 has anyone heard any rumours that blease wants to be traded? I know he is contracted until the end of next year , imho Sammy is a must keep, gives dash and speed from the backline or the wing, super important in cutting through presses and zones Would we even entertain an offer from the tigers? what would we accept?, if they want him at least we could get overs for him with him been contracted
  17. Hi guys first time poster but i have read with interest on here for some time thought i would share what i know, i go to cricket training at berwick, and one of my mates there knows the scully family very well, he recentley talked to Tom, and basically he is almost certain to re-sign with the dees, the rumours are all crap, driven by his manager apparently?? so i think we should just all get behind Tom this year show how much we want him at the club, it sounds like he will sign a new contract in good time remember people patience is a virtue cant wait see him play !!!
