  1. There’s aspects of Salem’s game (silk, ability to extract the pill, movement) that reminds me of Adem Yze.
  2. I'd have thought a shrewd marketing manager would see the Demons as an ideal and value sponsorship target, given where our list is at (talent and potential) plus the story that will accompany our rise over the next few years. Multinationals who want to be seen as contributing to local communities would be the obvious target, Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook..? Show us the money!!!
  3. Pedo vs Jeffry sounds a bit lob sided, did Pedo get him in the old pile driver and Jeff refused to concede..?
  4. Not sure if this been posted already... http://www.afl.com.au/video/2017-11-29/fit-hogan-returns-with-point-to-prove
  5. Well that just proves if you want to avoid being beaten up by a sword fish you should wear a white t-shirt.
  6. Tulip mark II
  7. Maybe Petty will allow Hunt to be developed into our midfield runner..?
  8. So now theres the prospect of supporting a crap team, but now theres a system in place to fleece your crap team of their best players halfway through a season, truely ending the year and putting your club further into the wilderness.. Sound's awesome!
  9. Who's this Jack Watts fellow then?
  10. Reality is, any assessment of this years trade period is premature, as the rewards (and losses) will only be seen and felt in years to come. Of more use is to assess the last couple of trade periods to see (based on the actual outcome) how this trading team did... So, Hibberd, Lewis, Melksham, Vince, Bugg, Ben Ken, etc... My sense is we’ve become a Club that trades well and has become a preferred destination for genuine talent, Hibberd and Lewis last year, Lever this year. May they continue to pick and trade well.
  11. I liked - “Quite simply, previous regimes have been prepared to settle for less from Jack and I don’t think the Simon Goodwin cartel will. Those that observe Jack more closely and intimately than anyone else in the game are in a far better position to past judgment on whether he is part of their finals and premiership push. The fact they took pick 31 and are contributing to his wage suggests that they’re in no doubt.”
  12. Me too. Loves ya Jack! Dont go! Just play better...
  13. Given McCartney coached Jake, and most likely knows the full story and potential of this deal and player, if we make a play it will be late and successful. Stringer, when on, is a mercurial match winner. A more mature, team oriented and defensive version of Jake, would add further sting to our forward half.
  14. he's surplus to our needs and his recruitment would be a slap to Wiedeman, pass for mine.
  15. The camp I'm now in is - "Jack's gonna stay! So cue music for the mother of all training montages..."
  16. Time for a musical interlude...
  17. May have already been posted... https://coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/jack-watts-receives-huge-reception-at-best-and-fairest-but-departs-as-an-unfulfilled-and-frustrated-demon/news-story/ec9563b1171cad8ce6f0657f69daeaa0
  18. Let’s assume Jack sees the light and decides to stay and, to paraphrase Roos, decides to be great, what does he need to do immediately to start earning back the respect and trust of the coach, FD and LG?
  19. I think that the MFC did he deal now (early) rather than stretching it out, because it has plans for the picks it gets from Adelaide. So probably need to wait and see what they now do with the picks. Also, I get the sense with the addition of Lever, the build of a team capable of attacking the top end of the ladder is almost complete.
  20. I think that’s exactly part of the issue with Jack. He appears to be doing as he’s been told to do, hence his surprise at his being out of favour... He’s working to rule, so to speak instead of stepping up and taking additional initiatives to become better. According to the Wookie he’s super popular with the young players, yet not in the leadership group. So is he not interested in working on his leadership skills? I guess not. There was a rumour he was working on his contested marking last year, and I remember thinking that’s the first time I’ve heard Jack’s name connected with some additional extra-curricular... now before anyone gets huffy, I’m speculating here and don’t actually know.
  21. True, but imagine the joy when he loses his [censored] every time Jack misses a tackle, contested mark or hardball get...
  22. Now you tell us...
  23. It’s obscene to compare Martin and Watts, they are so far apart. In 9 years when we as a club were very poor Jack finished only twice in the top ten players in the B&F, players like Dean Terlich and Matt Jones polled above him some years... But let’s compare him to Martin! Its laughable.
