  1. I think the McQualter influence re Tigers style. Thought the same.
  2. Genius - getting our kids so primed and disciplined. We are playing a web across ground, it strangled the Dons and our rebound keeps getting better. Keep this up and Goody may have us as a genuine late charger this year… we’re playing passionate aggressive footy that’s flowing beautifully at times. GENIOUS!
  3. Discuss…
  4. Correlation vs causation. Nothing to suggest Fullerton would be better than what Goodys cooked up… pumped to see. if we’re on we win, If not we probably don’t. Many bigger factors than Fullerton.
  5. I can. Saturday night goes pear shaped…
  6. All three of JVR, Petty and Disco are good marks giving us options down the line and negating Draper’s marking. I’d give Disco the lions share of ball ups and throw ins and ask home to play hard, close and “unco”, to make Draper earn every touch with high chance of errant arm head and body clash in process. And when Disco tires, have Petty and JVR do likewise. Draper is not at Max level, make him earn it, frustrate him and bog him down, and our mids and kids can then beat their mids. im excited for Saturday night. Go Demons
  7. Need to bring in Fullerton and Petty, Fullerton to tag the Dons ruck and Petty to give us a marking option mid ground, for Maysies get out kick… Should be an interesting 2-3 weeks till Maximus is back. No worried… at all. 😬
  8. Personally in your place, given what you’d said, I’d have responded with… ”I thought he played really well. I was wrong.” Go Demons
  9. With the mane, agro, talent and strut he’s got a bit Dermott Brereton about him. Hated Dermott as an opposition player, would have loved him in Red and Blue (although that make me vomit a little). Anyway, lots to like about the way the Kolt has started his career.
  10. 🤪
  11. Our connection inside 50 was on for the second week in a row and our forwards filled their boots accordingly. Like that the old elite (Jack, Clarry, Max) weren’t in best as we need to spread load and our kids really stepped up. Those potting Clarry are goldfish as he was great last week, and rendered Yeo ineffective. How exciting are our kids!?! Kolt’s two quick goals, JVR are real presence, add Petty back in and continue to deliver inside 50 at speed and angles and we are well in the hunt this year… As an optimist and Don hater, let’s belt them next Saturday night, and maybe more on here will start to believe. Good win. ❤️💙
  12. That Jesse Hogan goes alright… any chance? 😉
  13. Love Goody. Was thinking about the addition of McQualter during our second quarter surge vs the Lions, as the ball movement seemed very reminiscent of the Tigers at their peak. Waves off the half back opening up opportunities in the forward line. Goodwin seems to have astutely brought in assistant coaches to help evolve our game style, leverage the assets and address any deficiencies we have. He will snag us more silverware in his tenure. Go Demons.
  14. If we’d had Melky to come on in the last quarter we’d have been more likely to beat the Lions last week. Players come straight in if they’re better than those in the team. welcome back Jake..!
  15. I’ve found another approach to gather round… organise a long weekend with old buddies somewhere nice and spend the weekend cavorting, watching footy and catching up. Had a great gather round.
  16. Indeed, I wasn’t being totally facetious about umpire fitness. Maybe some of the new umpires need a few more preseasons?
  17. I think there is a big difference between Roffey and/or Pert having a quiet word with the powers that be over this (and other similar issues), which I assume they well could have done, with making a loud public criticism of the AFL/tribunal system/ umpires, which while soothing the fans, may [censored] off the AFL/tribunal/umpires. Our club is, and should be focused on what we can control in terms of playing better footy and, ideally, winning flags. Club leaders whining and putting focus on what we can't control is poor culture as if players start also doing this, then they are likely to losing concentration when decisions go against them (which they inevitably will), which is to the deteriment of what our leaders should be encouraging... Just my thoughts.
  18. Due to my Daughter having a fashion show on Friday night, I could only watch the first half before heading to it. But was super pumped after our great 2nd quarter where we were connecting up and down the ground and converting... a phrase the commentators used was "... best quarter since Bang Bang Bang!" and I was wondering if that's true? and for your thoughts on if the style we played in that 2nd quarter will allow us to capitalise on the scoreboard when we have the ascendency agains other top 8 teams over the coming months?
  19. I'm waiting for @binman's theory on how Umpire training may be affecting their vision and decision making abilities... Are the umpires loading? ;)
  20. I say introduce deaf AI robot umpires trained to interpret the (current) interpretations of the (current) rules. Like driverless cars for footy. Do it AFL. 🤓😉
  21. Not sure why people are talking about our youth in 2025 when we’re still in 2024. our young brigade went toe to toe with a very experienced And in form Briscoe outfit and showed they are very capable. I loved the Kolt taking it up to and backchatting Zorko, loved McVee’s chip at speed to Kozzie, and Rivers is a revelation in the middle. They are growing week to week. If they continue to build cohesion, belief and form our young brigade may be blossoming here and now.
  22. Never doubted Clarry, loved his work and goal last night. stuck it up the haters. ❤️💙
