People have talked about this year's draft being weak after about pick 10, so to get 3 + 7 is a big win imo. Despite 2016 being a strong draft and trading or 1st pick, I think we will aim for either FAs or trade players next year. For once I believe we have adults running or club. Do father/sons also use the points system to determine value? Are there many f/s nominations that will force clubs into using up draft picks to get? Eg. Rice at St Kilda.

FWIW, The Ox said on SEN yesterday that there was only one person who could be blamed for the selection of Toumpas - Mark Neeld. 'Blamed' was the word he used. He said that TViney and others at the club wanted Wines, but that Neeld wanted the outside run of Toumpas and that we had enough inside mids. Was quite definitive in his claim. Apols if this has been mentioned before.

It's unlikely our best 22 will be on the park at the same time. With our history of about 4-5 plus injured at any one time, there is certainly the need for increased competition within the list. If Howe and Toump leave and we bring in some hard competitors with what the coaches believe is greater up side, then it's a plus. Combined with the delistings, our list is improved overall. It would be good to land a big fish such as Prestia or Treloar, or improve our draft position to gain another pick inside 10, but trade period is only half over.

Absolutely. This smells like club manipulation of a player not on their list. WTF are the AFL doing if they can't ask for the receipt and bank statements of those involved. Watch their bank transactions over the next 12 months to see who's paying who what. Where's the accountability and integrity?!
