I’ve come to the conclusion that we won’t miss Clarrie at all on Monday.

His last two appearances for Melbourne vs Collingwood:

    • Queens Birthday 2022 - Kicks 21, Handballs 22, Disposals 43, Contested Possessions 16, Marks 7, Tackles 3, Disposal Efficiency 81%, Clearances 6, Scores 1.0, Goal Assists 0, Score Involvements 6, Frees For 3, Frees Against 1.

    • Round 21 2022 - Kicks 14, Handballs 28, Disposals 42, Contested Possessions 24, Marks 3, Tackles 8, Disposal Efficiency 69%, Clearances 14, Scores Nil, Goal Assists 1, Score Involvements 7, Frees For 3, Frees Against 1.

    Meh!

No pressure on Tom Sparrow and James Jordon who collectively will probably be called upon to replace him. At least they don’t have blisters.

    Or infections ...

I must not have concentrated very well in biology.  I didn't realise the shoulder was the back

    It was a ridiculous decision.

The commentators virtually never call out shocking decisions, although Richo did say "Bruce was a bit stiff".

Can anyone drive Weightman to the hospital?

    Mr Floppy.

I hate the way the commentators don't call out the fact that the decision was disgraceful.

Lucky we've got such great comedic relief with Bounce and watching two of the all time great comedians in Dunstall and Gaze. Pppft

Their sophisticated himour are likely to release any pressure build up on your crack @chook fowler

For some reason the words 'excruciating' and 'execrable' spring to mind. Can't believe that people actually find that dross entertaining ... Dunstall comes across as a nasty piece of work and Gaze seems like a pleasant enough bloke but not much upstairs.

  5. Interesting discussion about Tommo. He's obviously not a great player, but I think he should stay at least until Petty comes back. I agree with the comments made by others that with him in the side, it frees up Lever to do his best work. Lever shouldn't play on Mihocek or Cox (when forward). He can play on a small.

I think that Hibbert should line up on Elliott.

So, it's Oliver/Hibbert in. And Bowey out. So, the second out? Either Chandler/ANB/Spargo. The FD won't drop ANB ... my thought is Spargo ... he seems to be doing odd things ... running round in circles. I wouldn't drop Kozzy, although his form has been poor he is a potential match winner. I'd give him the occasional run on the ball to get him into the match.

I'm a bit concerned about Gus' form. His disposal has been quite a bit off.

  6. I'm an MCC member, and always sit there. FWIW I'm also a MFC member!

I can't believe that the MCC allows filth people in as members. Surely there should be proper vetting procedure.

I can say that there are plenty of MCC members who aren't doctors/lawyers etc. Anyone can join (subject of course to paying entry fee/annual fees) ... So, to that extent it isn't elitist.

One of the worst experiences I recently had was at the finals last year. It was a filth match. Sitting behind me was an elegant woman (a radio/tv personality) with her husband (filth supporter) and their daughter, who looked about 12 y.o. The husband spent the entire match yelling (aggressive) abuse at the umpires, and telling her daughter that there was a conspiracy against Collingwood. What a shocking example to his daughter? To answer the obvious question, I would have moved if I could, but the area was full.

    I hate the filth.

  7. Despite the standard of the match I had a fantastic time.

I went with my 2 beautiful daughters ... their first match this year, elder being a new mother, and the younger down from Sydney for a few days. Dinner at the ground and beaut seats. Sitting near my incredibly annoying Blues supporter mate, and listening to him whining about umpiring. And sitting behind another Blues supporter who was making absolutely hilarious comments during the match. (Seriously!) Sadly he disappeared after half time.

And after the match, meeting up with another Demons' mate in the Blazer Bar for a celebratory drink. We don't sit together at the match, but if the Demons win, we always meet up there post match. (Don't bother if we lose.)

Excuse my ramblings, but it really was a great night ... particularly the being with my daughters' part.

  8. I've been to every MFC home match this season.

Please excuse me for not going on KB. Quite simply the filth people do my head in with their constant booing, yelling "ball" every few seconds and the ridicuous "USA, USA" chant. I hate the filth (to quote my ex wife)"with every fibre of my being". Although she said it in a different context.

I promise to go to every other MFC home match this season ... and even matches at Marvel !!

    Am I forgiven?

  9. I'll be at the match with my 2 beautiful daughters (younger one down from Sydney) ... and before the match at a function at the G. They are both Demons, of course.

Hopefully the team does the right thing to make it a truly memorable night. But sadly I haven't been vaccinated for MFCSS.

Am assuming that May will go to McKay, which may be a waste, but will make sure that he doesn't get off the chain / break loose.

The question then is who goes to Curnow?  I don't think Lever can go with him athletically, so maybe Hibbo?  Gives up height, but can run and has enough strength to compete?

Im not too worried about their midfield, I think we have the advantage there, particularly with our rucks.

The big issue will be our forwards; we should be able to create more space for targets, but can they take marks and convert, or will it be back to the backyard sprinkler?

We need to bring in another tall, possibly Tomlinson. (Why do peeps call him Thommo? There's no 'h' in his name, and it can't even be justified on a phonetic* basis!! Sorry.)

If not him, then I guess it's Schache or Smith. No way Lever should play on McKay or Curnow.

*Isn't it ironic that the word 'phonetic' is not spelt phonetically? It should be spelt 'fonetic' ?

I still bear scars from that horrible outcome

I was at the 1987 PF too. Yes, it was so, so bad. I woke up the next morning hoping it had been a bad dream.

Having said that, it didn't cost us a flag. We would have been thumped in the GF the following week by (coincidentally) Carlton.
