There is a sequel to my story. Not a happy one.

I bought an Avanti Blade 4. A lovely bike. Relatively light and fast.

Unfortunately on 28 November 2012 I came off the bike at relatively high speed. 7 broken ribs, 4 fractured vertebrae, broken shoulder + bruised lung. Oh, the bike is basically ok, but I haven't ridden it since. I'm still recovering.

Expressions of sympathy gratefully accepted.

I want a bike that is relatively light, and reasonably fast.

I have back problems, so a drop bar racer wont work for me.

I've virtually narrowed down my search to Scott Metrix 20 and Avanti Blade 4.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Hey Hardtack. "All by Myself" wasnt by Harry Nilson. It was written and performed by Eric Carmen - see below.

The verse borrows heavily from the second movement (Adagio Sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18, which Carmen believed was in the public domain. Having found it was not only after the record had been issued, Carmen had to come to an agreement with the Rachmaninoff estate. Early versions, therefore, only give writing credit to Carmen while later versions also credit Rachmaninoff.[1] The chorus borrows from a song "Let's Pretend" that Carmen had written for the Raspberries in 1973.[2] Carmen's full version has an extended piano solo and lasts over seven minutes. There is also an edited version of 4 minutes 22 seconds.

The song was the first release from Carmen's first solo LP after leaving the power pop group the Raspberries and was originally recorded by the author and released in December 1975 to great success. It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on Cash Box Top 100 Singles and number 12 in the UK. The single sold more than one million copies in the United States and was certified gold by the RIAA in April 1976.[3] In a 2006 poll for UK's Five programme Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs Eric Carmen's version of this song was voted seventeenth.

Carmen's original version has spawned numerous cover versions by such artists as Céline Dion, Frank Sinatra, and Igudesman & Joo. It should not be confused with the jazz standard of the same name, written by Irving Berlin and performed by Ella Fitzgerald.

On his second solo LP, Boats Against the Current, Carmen had a subsequent Top 40 hit entitled "She Did It" which was the antithesis of "All by Myself." It is a happy answer to the loneliness and lovelessness described in this song and its equally melancholy follow-up "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again."

The Carmen version is used in the video introduction for Conan O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour", when an obese and bearded version of the talk show host struggles to cope with losing his job as host of Tonight Show.

Martin cannot take a mark. Johnson is a good option.

Don't know that he's a good option, but he might be a better option than Martin, who seems to be going backwards.

The parking at the MCG is beginning to get ridiculous. I was turned away in Round 1, when there was hardly a car in the bloody place. They're hopeless. I ended up just copping a $117 parking ticket. In the end it wasn't worth it that week.

Hey, call me Captain Obvious, but better to use public transport. If you need to drive some of the way, park near a train or tram line & get a train/tram the last part. Way quicker and cheaper.

I know another fanatical female demon supporter. I don't know if she reads this forum, but her name is Penny. She goes to every Victorian match and some interstate ones with her son and has contributed very significantly to the club. Unfortunately she hasn't been able to convert her Collingwood supporting husband.

I have no doubt that we got a good deal from the umps yesterday. I also have no doubt it was because of the crowd noise.

We are normally heavily outnumbered by opposition supporters, and so correspondingly get a bad deal in most of those games.

I was at the 2007 Demons/North match setting near a totally obnoxious female North supporter. So glad when demons hit the lead (shut the cow up) but very sad with outcome. I think Swallow kicked the winning goal. I also remember years ago a similar match when Clarkson kicked a winning goal for North either close to or after the siren.

As for the 2000 GF. I was there. That was enough. I've never watched a reply. And never will.

MikeyJ & bingers I'm curious to know what sort of seats you got & what level getting there at those times with 2 Vic teams playing for once. Haven't bothered with the MCC walk-ups the last couple of years...

Hi Torpedo, I was on level 4, about half way back on the wing. Seats were fine. The entire front half of level 4 was reserved (via the ballet) and we were in the first row of the unreserved (walkup) seats. There were also seats available when we entered the ground on level 1, but level 2 seats went really quickly.

When I came back to the ground at 2 pm. there were no seats left, only standing.

Queued up at MCG from 6 a.m. (alarm went off at 5 a.m.). Gates opened at 8 a.m. Got seats, then to Brunnettis in Carlton for breakfast, home by 10 a.m. Had a nice nap, then back to the ground by 2 p.m. Had a quick beer at the Bullring bar, then watched the fantastic match. Then went to friend's place for dinner, then home, then had to pick up 16 y.o. son, home by 2 a.m. Long, but fantastic day!! Might not have thought so if the match had been a fizzer.

Is it just me, or does Jonesy repeatedly make skill errors? He gets the ball really well, but doesn't do himself (or his teammates) with his disposal or tendency to hang onto the ball til he gets caught. My 11 y.o. daughter made the observation that he always make mistakes.

I though Davey was clearly BOG. Bater and Jurrah also good.

Also worried about McLean. Very slow. And when he goes to ground, takes ages to get up and get back in the game.

MacDonald was also ok, but i think he should call it a day at the end of the season.

Robbo, great guy and was a great player, but he too should call it a day. He doesn't look fit.

Frawley was good, Morton OK, Petterd will be a player, Dunn will keep his place and even PJ was ok yesterday.

Apart from his other attributes, he has a real football brain. In the last qtr (I think) Bater was running in towards goal from the angle. I think he was considering handing it off to Liam, but Liam pointed towards goal to tell him to keep going.

The over the head goal while sitting of the ground was Jakovich like.
