How much will Melbourne improve in 2020??
At Least I Saw a Flag replied to Tough Kent's topic in Melbourne Demons
Totally correct. The Club determined that playing with an injury would not cause further harm. (P.S. Information from a club staff member.) -

Not worth #3, probably not #8. Not tall enough as a ruckman and not showing enough as a forward. -
James Harmes Signs for 5 Years

He's better than Jones, and will end up a lot better. Better decision maker, doesn't get caught so often and better disposal. -

I was meant to go to Melbourne - David Cloke

David Cloke used to run the Celtic Club in Lonsdale Street. Perhaps he mellowed over the years? In any event, I found him to be an OK bloke. -

That's true. However missed shots for goal are deflating for team mates and have a negative impact on the team's performance. Well, that's what I reckon. -

(Not so good on metropolitan meetings.) Here are their best bets for Cranbourne today. BEST BET: Race Eight Number 5 William Thomas NEXT BEST: Race Three Number 13 Zorro’s Dream LONG SHOT: Race Two Number 9 Royal Crown

Perhaps this is slightly off topic, but does anyone else hate the word "bespoke" ?

I stand corrected. FWIW, De Goey's injury was far less serious. But my overall point remains the same.

The problems are chronic. Years of failure, low membership (which will be worse next year), lack of funds/resources. Players at clubs like Geelong, Hawthorn and now Richmond are prepared to sign on for less money than they could get elsewhere because they see the value in potentially playing in premiership sides. Not so with the Demons. I don't know how much Brayshaw is being paid, but I suspect it is more than he would get at one of the clubs I've mentioned. So that has an impact on the salary cap. Similarly, star players (e.g. Lynch) don't want to come to the club. MFC needs someone like him ... or Cameron. No chance. So the rich get richer and ... well you know the point. As for resources, when De Goey was injured they flew him to Germany for treatment. I doubt that MFC would have the money to do that. The big clubs' medical/development departments seem so much better equipped resourced than ours. Having regard to this, it makes the Bulldogs' premiership win all the more amazing. And Leceister in the EPL. Of course, in each case sustained success was not achieved. For my part, one premiership would be enough ... after supporting the team for 51 years!! Rant over ...

Are you kidding about Martin? I don't like him, but he is a total freak. Match winner. Some of the things I saw him do in the finals made me shake my head in disbelief.
