Hunt played forward a few years ago, and wasn't bad. He does at least compete, led pretty well and was an OK kick for goal. Perhaps worth another go there? I think Chandler is a bust. Tommo was a disaster on the wing and up forward. Too many players are underdone ... Salem/Langdon/Hibberd/Petracca/Lever. (Hibbert came off after 5 minutes in Q1 and was gassed! He did well having regard to that.) The second/third tier players have been found wanting when the A graders weren't dominating - ANB, Spargo, Sparrow, Harmes, Bowey.

Socceroos win penalty shootout v Peru and through to World Cup Finals. Socceroos need to find a way (or ways) to actually score goals in open play.

Hmm, the only thing enjoyable about that match was loading up on the filth @ $4. A few problems .... injuries, marked drop in skill level - fumbling, missing targets, failing to make a contest in the air, let alone take contested marks, players woefully out of form. I hate the filth.

I can't believe anyone wouldn't call the winner an own goal. The volley was hit straight at the keeper, but the massive deflection off the defender gave him (keeper) no chance. Without that deflection it would have been a straightforward save. Glad the Socceroos won though. Peru ... hmm, Socceroos not that good really.

Umpires have been given a new directive ... free kick poos/wees

A strict free kick filth policy has been implemented today. The umpire closest to the play clearly forgot that, however another umpire 40 metres away rectified that by paying the free kick. No free kick paid to Sicily for the same thing in Q2 leading to a filth goal. I have found the definition of "prattling"; it's Lyon's overanalysis of every piece of play. I know he's the special comments guy, but he never shuts up. Reiwoldt is much better ... Hilarious comment pre game by Lyon ... the match between Oliver and Jiath is a match up for the ages. Really?

Very disappointing. Putting money on the Swans at ridiculous odds only goes a small way to dealing with this disappointment. It reminded me of that dreadful match against the filth years ago when we kept bombing it forward and Oxley took 16 marks. Sam Reid = latter day Kent Kingsley.

Have commentators been given a directive not to comment on umpiring errors? Crows v WCE ... 3rd goal, blatant throw to Soligo who kicked the goal. Perhaps the umpires were blindsided (all 3 of them!!), but the commentators Healy + others said nothing.
