Wallace as usual is full of carp . From memory Richmond had just finished 9th again and saw Cousins as a gun midfeilder that could propel them into the 8 , nothing more , nothing less . If you remember during the pre-season the amount of hype around Richmond with media and supporters alike that was fueled more by Sheedys talk of going for the premiership . Any talk of Wallaces to help Ben out was just more snakeoil from the snakeoil salesman . See David King came out during the week and stated that the recruiting was driven by the players , a backhanded slap to Wallace who had been trying to take credit IMO .

No way , forever injured .

Must get over there. B)

Noticed Worsfold has a similar smirk on his face whenever the camera was pointed at him . It appears club new alot more about their captain being a coke fiend for alot longer than the rest of us .
-
For comparison.

Who will take the reins from Junior..?
Fork 'em replied to demondomination's topic in Melbourne Demons
There was talk of the captaincy being written into Davey's last contract . -
Both great marks but Farmers was better . Reakon like Farmer , Jurrah will take 1 for all time before he's done tho' .

It's tough to run as hard as the game plan demands for the whole year , especially as young as we are .
-
After the pre-season build up rd 1 against Hawthorn was confidence crushing for me . We we're farcical at times . The Swans game was best for 4qrs of pure fuzzy warmness but for an adrenalin rush it was the Pies rd 2.

Commentaters are going off their heads . Mark of the Year ... JURRAH !

Clubs supporters such as Essendons that have been fed a steady diet of success are the weakest IMO as following a winning team is easy . They drop off quickly when things aren't going their way , Carltons and Hawthorns are other examples . It's supporters who've been forged with the tough times that I have the most respect for . Ours , Richmonds , St.Kildas , Dogs even Swans.

The link is down ATM so I haven't seen it . I will say this . Got along way to go before my glass is over half full as I've seen a couple of false dawns that keep me praying that we've got it right this time . As you know its 1 thing to have the blocks in place but we also need a healthy dose of luck when the premiership window truly opens .We'll need our current crop of youngsters to develop to their potential , we'll need 'em to stay injury free , we'll need more inspired drafting and we need to be able to keep them together . I've got the butterflys going as the next 10 years will make us or break us as a club IMO .

Dappa Dan eh ,... Bet I know where your spoon is .
-
Just another chance for a kid to take the next step . As respected as Junior is he was a tagger .
-
A few extra kilos and he'll slam that 1st goal and dish the don't argue in the second clip .
-
All silver spoon fed private schools boys are soft IMO.

I would suggest a Riewoldt that is better at ground level and far more reliable when trying to hit a target , Goal or player . Not sure if his contested marking will be as good but I see Riewoldt as the best in the comp in that dept. If he isn't quite as good in the air ... too bad .

B+ - For where we're at . If we had've taken down the Pies it woulda been an A .

Jack Watts 2008 AFL U18 Championships - Incase you haven't seen it . Watts U18
-
Saw him chase Jetta from the swans , didn't gain much ground but didn't lose any either . At the 2008 draft camp he recorded the second fastest time in the 20m sprint for a non-indigenous player of 2.82 seconds. At 196cms he has speed to burn my freind .

Rest who's injured , give Maric another couple of games and allow Tapscott and Blease a taste of the big league .
-
I just don't think the Watts bashers recognise a young gun even when he's a 6'6" blonde . He can read the play , run like a gazelle , deliver lace out passes to forwards and has more ball handling skill than Bate and Miller put together . One of the previous posters refered to him as soft . He's only 18-19 and in his young mind I'll bet it hasn't really dawned on him that he's as big as he is . Up until his last pre-season he hadn't lifted anything heavier than his schoolbag and then shows up at training to be ragdolled by Chip , Miller , Warnock and co. but when he gets more confidence that will come with both weights and games played he will be one of the premier players in the competion . He won't see himself as a junior member of the club , he'll start looking goalward more often instead of the team orientated dish off , he'll realise that when he goes in hard he won't get killed and opposition sides will struggle to handle his height , speed and power . When it finally all comes together , Watts in full flight will truly be a sight to behold . I feel that other clubs supporters realise this and so are praying to god he fails , which he won't .

Now the pressure of making finals is off , get back to what this year was about ... Developement . Rest whoevers injured , get Maric in again and give Tapscott and Blease a taste of the big league .
-
We were doomed as soon as the rain came IMO . Our game plan is fast and precise movement of the ball , we don't have the mature bodies for a wet slog as yet .
-
The Demons to stamp themselves as a definate finals threat by taking the Hawks apart . Jurrah to kick 6 without looking like he's trying .
