  1. Dare we say it with greater "connectivity" could be anything ... clearly benefited  by "narrowing the focus" and  playing his "role for the team." Swooper stood up and "controlled what he could control,”... Well, that is the "takeaway" from  last rounds "learnings". Everything else is just "fugazi".

    Ruthful...but is that Ruthist?

Wasn't that Ruth is Stranger than Richard? Well at least we are not Rock Bottom.

The Cairns fiasco frustrating although it was, is on reflection not all down to Goodwin et al. The response in the last two games has been gratifying. Rather than go out meekly, the guys have re-established their playing credo and come out on top. Against two credible opponents. Its not perfect or always consistent but its heading in the right direction, up the ladder.

Agree with the agricultural gent who posted earlier, 'Farmer'. Simon Goodwin spoke well at what may be the last post-match media conference for this season. Plenty of confidence and forthright introspection there. Remember 9thmond? regular bridesmaids coach, players and club under a great deal scrutiny until a critical mass was achieved ...

ps. we are also warming to SOS, given his disappointments last season definitely Body and Soul.

Convincingly beat Joe Daniher one on one in a key contest.

...that MONGREL  Mumford should get a couple of weeks for that hit on Clarry!

at 34 “ big mummy” has perfected the art of delivering the forceful sly wack . Which to umpire stevic and company appears ‘accidental’. Whilst Mumford runs amok leaving collateral damage in his wake. Coach Cameron may privately agree?, big mummy leads that most desirable stat. Most  free kicks against for the season ( by a street apparently) and he hasn’t played that often. Adding to his list of misdemeanours. Is his go at acting ‘hurt’ after his GBH episode on young Clarence... add eggs and coffee to that. On the debit side of the GWS ledger is his high backhander to young Rivers, gifting our outfit a crucial goal and mummy’s bank account is $1000 in deficit after his hit on Max. All for the best though, mummy may be less tempted to indulge in elicit substances in the off season retirement. Where he may be banished for eternity,  wrapped up in copious linen bandages, his organs removed and placed in a canoptic jar and his earthly remains (including his footy boots) impregnated with his favourite white substance...

I’ve been a defender of Oscars for a while at times but I can’t defend him now. Spud. He shouldn’t be playing anyway, I didn’t understand the decision to keep him in the team.

Totally lost any belief here since last year v crows  in Darwin. Tex Walker absolutely rheemed  him. Worst performance from a defensive key defender since Paul Rowland v Peter Hudson.

Clearly a stronger Crows team. They waved the white flag v Roos. Set themselves to win v Dees

Will go down to the wire. A loss will see this mob up sheep she it creek in a barbwire canoe without excuses.

Better be a good win than:cool:.

We are getting nothing from the umps, our players getting clearly held onto but it gets completely ignored, they get a shot on goal from it.

First quarter 7 frees to 4, + multiple 50 metre penalties throw in, Second quarter the screw turns Port's way...

MFC like a drunken sailor all over the shop.

Well that was frustrating. They were a lot cleaner when the ball hit the turf until we started to click in the last quarter and really started to smash into the contests.  Fritta not handing the ball back really stuffed us at the end after Trac did so well to set up that one final chance. All those missed sitters in front of goal really cost us too. Viney was fantastic again and his kicking to a target has improved out of sight.

Agree with all that Rab. Massively frustrated with getting the rough end of the pineapple especially during the last almost climaxic 90 seconds. Thwarted again by lesser mortals sadly and our own keep shooting themselves in the foot. Rather than putting scoreboard pressure on. Filthy on  the 50 metre penalty against Fritter. Brisvegas boys were doing the exactly same and had umpiring immunity.

28 touches, 10 tackles, 15 contested possies and 5 clearances.

Might have missed a target or two in the conditions, but he worked his backside off for us all night.

Has hit a ceiling will not ascend to elite level without cleaning up his skills big time .

Still bucketing down here on the GC.

    Evokes memories of ...

Let Trac wander north to the goal square,
Way out further on there to score,
By a boundary line throw in, let Gawn linger,
Where Sammy Weideman has flown high.

When the players tangle on the centre circle,
And clouds fill the old northern stand sky,
And the midfield moves back from the forward fifty,
When the rain tumbles down in July.
