    Is there anyone else you would trust on this list from about 40 to 45 out and just beyond?  Maybe Max when he's on?

    It's our biggest weakness IMV and something we need to trade in for 2023.

    #26 when on song has a great kicking action.

    Adjudication;

    Couldn’t complain those who made the play got rewarded.

    TV broadcast;

    Jason Dunstall and Nick Riewoldt tend to make sense. Whoever was responsible for gratuitous comment about Ed Langdon tackle being ‘acceptable’ go to straight to dunce’s corner with the appropriate hat.

    Overall comment;

    Opponents provided a contest with plenty of old fashioned physicality. Demons challenged but too classy in the wash up.

  3. After being fortunate enough to attend both the preliminary and grand final. From a ‘pure’ footy perspective found the ambiance of the PF more enjoyable. MFC’s control of the stadium PA audio-visual setup was definitely a factor. Of course the Demon ascendancy made it a relaxed evening at the footy. Game intervals were relatively free of the razzmatazz too.

    GF was a much more wound up affair. After all there was a fair bit riding on it. Not a moment was without ‘entertainment’ happening, pre-game, quarter times, half-time was crammed to saturation point. Add the actual game which seemed almost like an adjunct to the ‘show’. When the smoke cleared half way through the third it was all about the footy, fortunately a triumph 57 years in the making.

    Opposition hyperbole watch;

    #27 is believed to be auditioning to replace Ken. If only Barbie knew Jane was not Tarzan.

    Adjudication;

     Free kick differential is locked in you don’t beat city hall.

    TV Broadcasters;

    Jordan Lewis and Matthew Pavlich have some authority and provide useful insights. Kerri Underwood is best turned a deaf ear to.

    Overall comment;

    Demon machine marches on. Call the RSPSA!

  5.  Young fella busting to get a go, clumsily tackles a bloke (without an ounce of malice) who is unfortunately concussed. Is made an example of by the ‘process’.

    Opponent chooses to lower his shoulder and connects with force to the AFL defined ‘sacrosanct’ head. With remission gets slap on wrist.

    Also why have the Bulldogs been looked after with the Friday nights yet we seem to have been snubbed.

    AFL ivory tower operatives doing what they do best, rewarding mediocrity. Give them full marks for consistency though. On good authority the contest is now a seagull chip raffle extravaganza to determine who emerges as second best. Currently AFL fixtures appear to reflect that.

    On the telecast, Bucks was asked if Melb due for a loss.  His reply was something to the effect of "definitely not!".  Went on to say something to the effect he'd love to see the dees go through the season undefeated!  I'm beginning to warm to the lad!  Thought his comments throughout the game were insightful from the way a coach looks at how a game is unfolding...Good stuff!

    Agree Baz Post-game discussion on Fox with young Kath was informative and relaxed.

    With winter approaching Bucks looked a million in that snappy well tailored pullover jacket number. Smart!

    Opposition Hype watch;

    Butler Higgins King forward trio so embarrassingly irrelevant  umpires had to tip in.

    Adjudication;

    In an imperfect AFL world umpiring fraternity has begun to see the light.

    Overall comment;

    First half of second quarter had the Demon machine firing on all cylinders. Delivering a devastating burst effectively dealing Saints out of contest. A dominant brilliant team performance overall.

  10. Wayward Saints seeking salvation. Last seen sliding for a slither of soap in slippery northern slimes.

    Scraping like seagulls in a slather for seemingly senseless seconds searching for a slim score.

    Media mogul machinations on Mother’s Day may mirror minor minds.

    Determined Demons dastardly dash delusions of disorientated  delinquent delight.

    Saints or sinners saved for slaughter by the last quarter.

  11. Not wishing to give this witches’ hunt any more oxygen, but BT did describe it after Tom’s  after the siren goal as “being the greatest winning margin in a grand final by any Melbourne team”. Something the vast majority of true red and blue faithful would be rather proud of, given the club’s history.

  12. Casey is a proven alternative pathway to the AFL with Bayley Fritsch and Oscar McInerney being the most notable. With the re-emergence of the VFL competition you'd expect others to follow their footsteps. Of the younger guys on Casey's list, Roan Steele has shown he can certainly play. Kicked multiple goals a few rounds back, he looks a smart player and is not afraid of the  physical stuff. Matthew Johnson on debut last round also looked impressive. There were some other new faces which would be expected with the recent Covid protocols. Will watch future developments with interest and anticipation.

  13. Queen's Birthday 2019. Was a great day out with my youngest daughter. Only member of the next generation of the Tarax's to commit to the Demons. Collingwood had a pretty decent team, but it really was Buckley's by the season end. Next outing with my daughter Perth 2021, was so much better. Working on oldest grandaughter currently a skippy. Its a slow burn.

    Rewatched game, I was wrong about Melksham, had some nice touches.

    Jake contributed to the result in a positive way, in fact he made some moves reminiscent of his earlier days at the club. On his day a highly skilled footballer who can hurt the opposition. Still has some fire in the belly.

  15. Super grab by Rosman at centre-half back during the third quarter, add that to your highlights reel young fella!  Played a disciplined game with some timely interventions. Andy Moniz-Wakefield is getting more involved and has silky skills. Young 'Bill' Laurie was prolific around the packs and kicked a nice goal at the non-scoring end. Kade Chandler rose to the occasion and finished a big weekend of footy, with three important last quarter goals.

    Given the recent scoring yips, get out with the Sherrin Precision footballs for Choco's goal kicking skills session.

    Adjudication;

    Hush we are the new umpires' pet, dump dogs for demons. Percentage down free kick differential up.

    Opposition hyperbole watch;

    Sam Frost keeps on contributing with five frees for three goals. Umpires insisted on making Saint Samuel a martyr to the cause.

    Final summation;

    Kept hawks at arm's length, although the last quarter was not all jake. Overall given the covid disruption was a credible hardworking performance led by Captain Max.
