WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
There is absolutely no way that Molan can be called a poor pick - did anyone see him play a bad game? Did he wimp out of any contests? Was his disposal poor? No, you don't know - nobody knows because unrelated impact injuries killed his career before he could pull on the jumper. It is totally unfair to compare him with, even name him with any of our 'failed high picks'." You say you don't care about injuries - well injuries happen and effect careers, whether you care or not.

Maybe not if we are lining up for our fourth flag on the trot. Unlike his grandpa he could actually help us achieve it. I for one would just love the irony. We need to make him and other just want to stay.

Just asking: how many frustrating years did Tom Hawkins take to become a dominant player? 4? 5?

At 191 cm probably not competing for the same - forward / ruck- spot as King.Or do you mean, if he has dad's leaping ability, could fly over the 200cm King?

...more a matter of in case anyone (else) is old enough to remember :-))Can anyone tell me, is the Weed a mobile tall or a lumberer? Can / will / does he ruck?

Many thanks for clarifying.

Totally agree re Derwayne- such an annoying voice and turn of phrase. Hadn't seen any of that before due to my refusal to watch and EssenDrug matches. You too don't trust that club. It is a concern. Still hope they gave put some form of get out clause into the contract. Try reading the second sentence as well as the first, ProDee

It is and will remain an interesting point of ongoing debate. YES TMcD has had a fantastic learning experience against some of the best KPP forwards, in a similar way that our greatest goal-kicker, DN did early in his career. Personally I believe he could go on to be one of our better KPP forwards in tandem with JH On the other hand he is doing a great job at CHB and unless the likes of Frost or his own young bro come along quickly, and I mean start to show as early as preseason 2016, JMc will stay as a defender for most of 2016.

Nice to hear someone else agrees with me re Molan, who nobody could judge because of recurring impact injuries. Silly boy for going in so hard. Disagree with you wording re Cook though. IMO no player should be referred to with as offensive a ward as dud: sure didn't make the grade, may have never been up to it and may have been a poor pick (clearly) but he put himself in and was selected. I will never use that word dud. Back to topic - is this guy up to it as a KPP? Can he ruck? If so they will have to weigh him and up.

Do you seriously think that they haven't thought of this.....delved into the ins and outs, and the maybes? A contingency must be written in to any contract he is offered, along the lines of WADA no play, no pay, and possibly no stay. I am looking forward to hearing what is offered and what is written - as much as we will be told. But it cam sure that would appreciate your input and pointing out these obscure possible problems to them.

I guess I am starting to come around to Milkshake as a player, a cig in the wheel, but the WADA sword of Damocles still deeply concerns me in several ways: Say, worst case scenario, he gets 2Y, or even one. We will have - used a spot on our list - presumably traded away a pick - spent salary cap $, all on someone who may play as many games for us as Lucas Cook. Are there any other 'cleanskins' around at a similar overall price who can fill the rôle that Goodwin has in mind for him? The only part of that equation that I see we could have any control of at all is the salary, and maybe a little wriggle room on the list place. Are there any industrial relations lawyers here? Can a contract have a get out clause to void payments and overall contract in the event of something such as a WADA sanction? Were that the case we will still have given up a draft spot, but would not have continuing obligations..

Delistings/trades at end of the season
I am sick and tired of players being lauded for #2 in your checklist - Morton, Maric, Strauss, Blease, Gysberts and more were picked for their "elite skills" but we're just not your #1 - competitive beasts. If you don't, can't, won't get the bloody ball and / or don't have vision and balance elite skills are absolutely useless. I think your order is pretty spot on - though I may even swap #2 for #3, though I think they really go together.

Any contractual deal regarding WADA, assuming it can be written in by some clever lawyer, would at best only related to our payments being terminated for a guilty finding with suspension. It would do nothing about wasting a spot on our list. Still, IF we do go for him I would sincerely hope that a get out clause is written in his contract. Anything less would be totally amateurish and unacceptable.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Was that at Doglands? Was that the last win there? We're any of our current list playing in our last win at Doglands?

I actually believe that Pedersen's absence has been a bigger problem than many would have expected. He was just starting to fit in well with Hogan.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Starting at the selection table this week.Frankly don't care who comes in but those who are not our future can go out. Get some runners. Fitzy can run - put him on the wing or in the guts even.

So that would leave Gawnius Maximus as the sole ruckman with Pedersen as the only back up. King is far too far off at this stage. If Max misses a game then let's try <insert anyone> to ruck all day.

so why still have Dawes then? doesn't mark.....but does that mean brings the ball to ground? Many see his bringing the ball to ground, ie dropping marks, as his biggest attribute. Strange that. The only ones in that list who are plurals (despite the many inappropriate uses both of apostrophes and plurals) are as far as I know, Scotts and Selwoods so delusional as well as a possible WADA casualty!! Not for me.
