Kennett's Letter to Hawks Members
The elephant in the room is the players would have to accept less. Imagine the fight that would happen. Would the players union be happy with 80+ players losing their jobs and the remained on lower wages?

At risk of starting starting a s fight. Probably accurate. First in line GCS and GWS.

Agree DJ, what it all means In the end is less money for AFL rights.

Kennett's Letter to Hawks Members
Strange this industry DJ. For how long have we been seeing stories about the demise of 10. Yet every time I turn on my set they are still there. There is little to no chance of 7 folding. What we are seeing is the value of AFL rights falling. What Jeff should think about is if he gets rid of a team of two that is a lot less eyes on tv. The only interest I have in AFL is the MFC. No MFC would mean no AFL for me. From past surveys this would mean a large number of the club's supporters. Then the TV rights are worth even less. However if a club amalgamated ( yes I know never ) more people would stay interested in AFL. I might stay interested in an MFC/ North/ Carlton team particularly if they were successfull.

Training Ground?
It is a pity we have such a crap record on and off the field over the last half century. We are one of the small least successful clubs of the last half century. Forget Port Melbourne the board is lock on to “the vicinity of the MCG“ . It is goschs paddock or bust.

Correct I am not a big fan but surely he offers more than a kid who has never played a game above under 18’s. Why did we last year give a contract extension to the Weid when we prefer a untested kid in the second game of the year? It is not as though Jackson has played a good game at Casey last week. The mids will need kick a lot of goals To ensure we win this game.

Very good point! On reflection no we are not sane.

TEAM: Rd 02 vs Carlton
It seems the FD have totally lost confidence in the Weid, they have replaced him with a kid who has not played a game since playing last year in the under 18’s. Only a miracle will see the kid play a good game as a key forward. It looks like Watts all over again.

DJ he is in the second game of a new three year contract. If he fails this year there are going to be some very silly looking people running the club including the Chairman and the GM. If he was to fail miserably this year there would be no excuses as the team is very much his selections. It has changed substantially since he took charge. Failure this year would Mean we have to endure him till the end of 2022. Failure which resulted in Goodwin being removed at the end of this year should See the entire board and GM stand down. God is too horrible to think about.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming Hff. In fact it is probably the only thing that keeps the average Dees supporter sane.

Wow we are really pushing the odds with that forward line. Of course you have to believe that is the way they will line up which seldom happens. If we accept it in broad terms the the two key forwards are a player who has only once produced his 2018 form and a kid who is playing his first game straight from under 18’s football. We then have Brayshaw who has seldom been a goal kicker along with Petrecca with the same disease and another kid who has played one game since leaving the under 18’s. we are going to need 6 from Fritsch to be in the hunt. Still taking out Spargo gives one more competent player in the 22. We will struggle to win this game.
