I was going to say Pedo is stiff. I think I’ll go with Pedo is unfortunate.

I hate the players talking about it. It builds it up into an event beyond its worth. Play them on their merits and we win the game. Simple. I've moved beyond caring about the streak being over. I care much more about the four points than ending the streak.

He's a bloody star. His performance didn't go totally unnoticed in the media. Robbo gave him some love on 360 last night, including a laugh at Carlton's expense.

On other forums, placing the OP on ignore would make the thread disappear. Which I would gladly do if that worked on here. Anyhow I doubt it’s going anywhere so I look forward to having this thread taking prime position on a Demons forum after every single Port match.

Meanwhile, there’s this thing called a thread list where a thread gets bumped to the top of the page every time someone posts in it, thereby acting as a constant reminder of a now ex player that has already been discussed ad [censored] nauseum. A tip on how online forums work. For the simple minded.

This thread needs a mercy killing from the mods. Some dingbat will bump it every week to either bemoan or cheer his departure. Talk about self flagellation. He’s gone. Can we not end the obsession now?

I think the comparison with Judd is mostly on the basis of impressive starts to a career. The same was done with Bontempelli who is obviously a different type of player again. Oliver’s Brownlow tally this year will be interesting to say the least.

I can’t believe some people are suggesting Melksham be dropped. Like, what? On another day he’d have kicked three goals and was in the top 6 for contested possessions behind Jones, Oliver, Trac, Hogan and Garlett. If you include the end of last season in his form line he’s been of our best players. Amother pearler is Weideman coming in for Pedersen off the back of two goals in what was essentially a training drill against Frankston.
-
At least he’s realised his mistake but it’s a crazy one to make in the first place.
-
Re Lewis and Salem, we don’t have the luxury of dropping two of the best if not the best kicks in the side. Salem isn’t racking up possessions but he had a few key score involvements. He will get better as the season rolls on. Forget about Lewis being dropped. That isn’t happening.

In: Frost, Brayshaw Out: Wagner, Hunt Frost for Wagner has been covered. Accounts for North’s attack whilst freeing up Lever to do the job he’s best at. If Hunt isn’t tucking it under his arm and breaking the lines then his spot is better occupied by someone who can find the ball and use it well. He’s doing neither at the moment.
-
Lever again.

Absolutely piitiful and so typically Melbourne.
-
Three dunderheads go up for the same mark. Fallls to a roving Brisbane player.
-
Ugh. Typical.

Stef missing that easy set shot brings back memories.

Why Buggy. Why.

What a tackle from Clarry

In Round 1? Okay.

Why on earth would anyone pick Maynard ahead of Tyson? Crazy stuff.

Trying to claim more merit badges of emotional hurt just because you’ve lived longer is an extremely wanky thing to do. Just saying. Respect for sticking it out this long. There are plenty who haven’t. But don’t be a dick about it. Also. And I can’t emphasise this enough. Your pain as a football fan is in no way comparable to the pain experienced by our indigenous population. Or any other indigenous population.

What we know from the small sample of last week is that Brisbane were able to get on top of the Saints in clearances and contested ball so that keeps them in the game, though this was partly due to the Saints essentially having no midfield which is a problem we don’t have. Saints still ran out reasonably comfortable winners despite this. As the season rolls on it will prove to be a more even competition this year than last. Brisbane will be no exception to that. But if we’re serious at all this season we need to win this one. Brisbane will be competitive and their first home game adds additional X factor, but they are ultimately a developing side with a coach entering his second season. Dropping these games is something we simply can’t afford to do again this year. Dees for the win. A close margin wouldn’t shock me. A loss definitely would.

I can safely tell you that after Gawn missed, I was at no stage thinking “boy that was an entertaining game! I enjoyed that immensely!”

@Vogon Poetry ‘s write up on Kent in the Casey game day thread has me pretty damn excited. He could make a go of this AFL thing yet.

Casey Demons v Frankston - practice match
P-man replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Poster on Bigfooty reporting that Rawlings was having a chat with Brayshaw at the break trying to give him a lift. Said that Gus was playing okay but looking a bit dejected.
