I dont think Pettard has been able to excell any where due to the fact that he has never spent any real time in any one position. Because our list is now starting to take shape hopefully most people can settle into a role and make it their own, and I completely disagree on Cheney I think for what he showed as a first year defender I think his upside is huge.

in my opinion yes they are. Pettard started in the back line and only went foward last year as a result of no other options. Due to our building foward line I tthink he will end up settleing in defense. Garland didnt play due to injury and im hoping in 3 years as the post stated he will be fit and healthy. Cheney played off and on due to his young age and small body which wont be a problem in a few years and I belive he has shown more then any other defender that he has the skill and more importantly the guts to play there And macdonald was delisted after being good enough to play all home and away games for the year, he has shown time and time again for the lions that he has the skill and leadership to play at the highest leval and I think was only delisted as a result of the coach making a big statment that no one is safe no matter who you are, such as Bradshaw being put up for trade.

I disagree the only person I would put a question mark next to is Frawley and I think he has shown more then enough to be given more chances, But as always that team is my opinion and every person on this site can pick holes in it as we all have different ideas on the future

I hope your right Akum because 2011 is about his life span as a demon if he does not turn it on more often, Then again Newton is still around lol so anything is possible.

But as you can see there is no room for Martin in that team and it will even be hard to crack into th team as our bench and emergeny players are pretrt damn good to. PS damn that was hard to pick

once again this is only my opinion and I hope I am wrong cos that gives us another strong player but where exactly does he fit into our backline with the likes of Garland,frawley,rivers,macdonald,bartram,cheney,warnock and mcnarra maybe morton although he will prob end up fpward or on the wing. I just cant see on current form how he will fit in, and our future foward line looks even stronger so he wont slot in there.

Yeah that is true he just seem so slow and lets face it the guys that run that race are not the fastest in the league. I just fail to see him having a future in a team of guys that are building up the way we are

Realisticaly I think 5-8 is possible and on a side note I think Tappscott will be the jumper for this year with his big boot and body I thinkk he will be leading the way as far as our boys are concerned and if he gets enough games could easily get the rising star award

Now this is just my opinion so dont get shitty but is it just me or is Martin a crab. Now dont get me wrong I am a demons man and im not a hater but I dont think the kid can play at all. People keep putting him in as a future star but he can kick at all let alone kick goals as a key foward, he seems very slow across the ground which means his defensive pressure isnt very good and he continually gets shoved out of the way in marking contest. Now I know the strengh issues can be fixed with a few more preseasons but I fail to see how we can fix the other issues before he simply becomes a liability. Again I hope im wrong but any opinions

No offense guys but I think most of you are crazy. As a fellow demons supporter it saddens me to say this but I think we will be pushing it to get out of the bottom 4 this year, we will start moving faster up the ladder the folling year but I dont think there will be massive improvement as in win this coming year. SORRY

ok il go first then I dont think we will to much up the ladder next year as we are still stuck with most of the same useless players that have hindered us over the past few seasons and our up and coming players although very talented will not really have to much of an effect untill they get a bit more experience and I think most importantly put some size on. I think we are looking at bottom 4 next year that although not great will be a solid improvement with 6-7 wins. I think the next four years will show alot more improvement very quickly though with the like of Grimes, Morton, Watts and so forth really showing their class. I also think that all of this years dfarts will come on very quickly specially scully trengove and tappscott having an almost instant impact on the team. They will force opponents to spread out the load to cover our midfield and fowards instead of them being able to easily cover our few quality players with a few of their own still spare to destroy us. Being so young at the moment I feel this gives us the chance to not only survive the up and coming draft shut outs but to thrive in them as other teams find their lists aging very quickly. Although it is obviously way to early to say if our young guys are going to be stars I think it is reasonably to expect a top six if not top four by the end of the next 5 years and hopefully pushing for a flag. Realistically where do you guys think we will come over the next say 5 years. Dont be silly and say finals next year and flag the year after cos it isnt going to happen unfortunatly. Be honest give your opinion and justify if possible.
