PM Bangers from bigfooty has us taking Tasmanians McKercher and Leake with our first round picks.

    In our dreams!

In reality North will probably be given an extra pick and GC will trade pick 4 but still take Read as an academy player.

So there will be at least 2 additional picks before we are up and I doubt McKercher would last 6 picks anyway.

  2. Croft looks like a project pick to me - based on what I’ve seen I’m very surprised that he’s mooted as a potential top 15 pick and despite our need for another tall forward (particularly one who can ruck), I’d be disappointed if we had an interest in him with a first round pick.

Riley Beveridge reporting on SEN Crunch Time that the AFL are going to recommend an assistance package to North Melbourne of:

    - End of first round pick in 2023

    - End of first round pick in 2024

    - End of second round pick in 2024

    - No priority access to Riley Sanders

** Pick 3 compensation for McKay is a separate issue. Will “likely happen” but won’t have anything to do with assistance package.

This would be a good result as there has been quite a bit of talk they could get pick 11 as well - which would have set out second pick back even further than it already is!

Read it and honestly thought it was the biggest load of tripe with the occasional players name mentioned.. other then that half of it i couldn't even understand wtf he was talking about. Is he trying to be the next Tasman because he failed awfully.

  5. I sense a lot of people here think of Christians as smugly moralistic and intolerant of the opinions and behaviour of others. Please understand that this is not true Christianity. True Christianity is where we recognise that we are fundamentally unable to get to Heaven, to connect with God. Therefore, we must humbly ask Him to come to us. We must ask Him to do what He wants to do, which is to bridge the gap between humanity and the divine. There is no pecking order where some of us are morally superior to others.

I understand that some of you guys don't believe in a God, or a Heaven -- I'm just hoping that you recognise that there are Christians who aren't self righteous [censored] lol.

    Anyhow, back to the footy.

I understand exactly what you're saying.

We should draft Gary Ablett Senior :)

  6. That isn't acquiring a free agent the new, it's trading.

Freo gave up nothing but we had to trade for bernie vince, it was the compo pick but it's not the point.

Collingwood traded Dawes for a top 20 pick and obtained his replacement (lynch) for nothing

    Melbourne hasnt done this sadly

If you read throught the list of current free agents, its pretty slim pickings outside of Dangerfield, if you're trying to land a gun.

The only way I see us bringing in an A grade mid this year, is by trading.

  7. Jay "I'm often wrong" Clark from the HUN said that Carlton are the front runners for Aish. Unless there is minimal interest, why in the world would he want to go there? Us, the Saints, Dogs etc. are all young teams with a far brighter future than Carlton.

But then if you read the HUN enough you realise that players are only going to Collingwood, Richmond or Carlton these days so it doesn't surprise really.

Not that Id complain if we were able to lure James Aish, but when Roos said A+, I would hope he was referring to a bigger fish than that.

  8. Sorry to disappoint you all but anyone any good will be picked off by the big cherry pickin' clubs up the pointy end of the ladder.

We'll be the ones getting picked over as usual.

    I wouldnt be so sure.

We are armed with pick 4 or 5, and I couldnt see any of the clubs below us trading their picks.

We will have some salary cap room and are currently a better option than say Carlton or Essendon.

We arent in a bad spot to chase a player at the moment, at all.

  9. I cant see it happening very often.

He was only thrown forward in the last quarter because Dawes and Hogan just werent creating contests and bringing the ball to ground.

I can see Jamar or Fitz getting a run ahead of Dawes, before we throw McDonald forward again.
