AFLW GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Adelaide
dees189227 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
Chelsea Randall has carved her up in both Grand finals she has played on her. She is on Harris again so she may have got into Harris's head already. -

Harris needs to be a decoy, take the defenders with her & have hore or Bannan forward. Still annoyed by Birch's undisciplined bump that helped them get there 1st goal. Anyway we are still in this but Adelaide have cut off our corridor use really well. We just have to find other ways to goal -

This is why Adelaide have dominated this competition. They are do well drilled, disciplined, have such strong bodies & mark the ball cleanly. -

Ugh that's frustrating. We are so fumbley. Harris needs to have more of a physical impact. And some sort of score would be nice -

We have to get off to a much better start than last time we played them. It would just be brilliant if we could win and make it the double. Harris winning a flag after 2 failed goes would justify her recruiting and be a good story for her. I know we have players like Mithen and Paxman who have been there since the start but gee winning for Daisy should be the motivation. She has just been a pioneer of women's footy. Her holding up the cup would just be the icing on the cake. -
How much do we think sydney will beat nth by tomorrow? I'm thinking it will be another dirty day for Noble and his team.
-
The colllllingwoooooodddddddd chant, but yeah geelong supporters in general down there are annoying.
-
The holding the ball rule did not exist tonight. I thought Mitch Robinson did a few errors in that final quarter. Should have kicked it to Daniher a lot quicker in the final few minutes. also botched a few kicks. But hey we are still sitting pretty on top.
-
How good is it sitting back friday night, our team has already played sitting 4-0 and there is nor stress watching the remaining matched except wishing adelaide can win over essendon of course. But this has been a good game tonight.

You now what I noticed when Goody was doing his presser, just how many sponsors we have now and they want to stick around. Remember many years ago when we couldn't get a back of a jumper sponsor? Now it's great businesses want to align with us.
-
Ben brown next week will straighten us up a lot better in the forward line next week. I feel Neal Bullen hasn't hit last year's form yet, but can I just say how much I enjoy watching Ed Langdon play. Just such a great pickup over the years
-
May always kick the same way, down the line. Its so predictable. But if max can't get it Langdon or Brayshaw crumb it.
-
Watching Port tonight felt like watching us 8-9 years ago. At some stage it would be nice to see us do to a team what Brisbane did to nth last week. We really should have won by a lot more tonight. Now onto the girls big game on Saturday and it would be nice to get the same result.

I thought James Jordan was great tonight.

I still feel like we should be another 3 goals up. We overhand balled instead of just banging it inside 50. Max came to life that quarter. Lets just keep going on with it & bury them further
-
I just presumed umpire abuse maybe
-
Ugh Max's goal kicking still frustrates me. At least we opened up the game but we have to continue on with it and really thrash Port. They will come out with nothing to lose and will probably play more freer. I haven't minded McDonalds game, everytime he goes for goal I have full confidence he will kick it. I don't know if it's because we have been spoilt by Farmer and Davey over the years but I just want Pickett to do something.
-
We kept them goalless but again we missed opportunities. Trac you are great but when you mark inside 50 don't turn your back, McDonald was on his own in the goal square and you ignored him. Here's hoping for a good 2nd quarter. Take your chances. We are dominating, just not on the scoreboard.
-
It's so weird, I don't feel nervous at all. Maybe I just expect us to to win now
-
Lets hope we kick early goals & not waste chances early like last week
-
Ross Lyon was talking about Langdon last night on FC and said he is so fit and can just keep running all game sacrificing his breaks so players like Trac and Oliver can rotate and rest. But credit to him for having a massive engine.

Somehow we need the crows to beat essendon, because that would give me a laugh. The fans would go nuts. Walker back helps. Interesting Geelong are resting Selwood tomorrow night against Brisbane. I would have thought you are coming up against a pretty good midfield and would need your best. I know I put it in another thread but why do we have to travel again when some of these teams don't have there first interstate game until round 9 or longer?
-
Gosh cannot believe another round is here already, it just felt like a few days ago I was at the G watching us beat essendon. Well like last week we face opposition who are well under the pressure. Thankgod Dixon isn't playing. I can kind of see why BBB isn't in. As Goodwin said he hasn't seen him for a week and you can't do a lot of training in your backyard unless you have a lot of acres, also Weideman did well. I guess it's up to Tommmy to step up. Anyway just get the 4 points, no injuries and get home. How many demons fans who are flying over tonight have now decided to stay on so they can go to the AFLW GF? They need all our support

Gee a good crowd 66,000

Off to a good start the blues. Amazing what can happen when you have 2 healthy key forwards to kick to.
