  1. Clearly i didnt mean physically mate...and neither did you... I am talking about you considering Williams to Essendon huge... That was the initial problem.. Ridiculous statement.. Whats 'huge' is that Essendon have compromised themselves..On trading a first round pick for a has been...and inconsistent player in Williams...when clearly they the Dons should be on the look out for my KPP's...
  2. Mate your seriously kidding right? Williams is huge? Dons have lost massively in this deal..Essentially Lovett was traded for Mark Williams... And from Pick 16 they have been brought back 8 selections to Pick 24 and lost a 23yr old who is a speeding half back in Nash... Port have now 3 first round draft picks...8, 9 and 16...and a youngster in Nash... Hawks i still think have lost out...as they now have no first round picks...But have Burgoyne.. Dons fans will be livid..
  3. sorry guys, someone obviously created it just as i clicked add topic..
  4. SEN and Adelaide Radio have confirmed a Three Way Trade Simply broken down Hawthorn - Receive - Shaun Burgoyne Port Adelaide - Receive - Pick 9,16 and Jay Nash (Essendon) Essendon - Receive - Mark Williams (Hawthorn), Pick 24 Picks to be distributed tomorrow TBC - Pick 24, 40 and 61 From what I can see Port are the massive winners here..Burgoyne has yielded 2 great Draft Picks...And a young speedy youngster who is an SA boy.. Hawks have got a near 27 year old who has been sub par in the past 2 seasons..and now have no first round draft picks..And clearly would have hurt a loyal servant in Campbell Brown.. Essendon have effectively traded Lovett for Mark Williams... oh and Jeff Kennett has made a fool of himself saying that Hawks would not trade any premiership players..
  5. Its not the National Draft...Its the Pre Season Draft... And sure they can put a price on his head...but the hawks supposedly had a confirmed deal of 450k a season for Burgoyne....Given our salary cap is non existent....i see no reason why we can't pay this for an excellent player... if it was 500 - 700k a season that would be well out of our relms.... Wouldn't rule us out..but yes Williams is a vindictive coach...and let him go for nothing...but i can't see it happening again as was the case with Nick Stevens... Port need to rebuild and if it came to the crunch, if Hawks offered Pick 9 and Tuck..they would take it...If not Dons offering pick 10 and Lovett....any of those deals is better than nothing....
  6. Guys, read between the lines... its obvious that they are talking about Shaun Burgoyne... All the other 'uncontracted' players are set for other moves..Drum,Peake etc etc There is no way we will get Burgoyne but hopefully mark williams decides to be a problem for the potential deal... surely he won't let him go for nothing? another nick stevens? its ridiculous..
  7. Well on that basis.... Lets evaluate those players? Valenti - A la Sam Mitchell, sometimes people who get overlooked time and time again and finally make it play for their lives everytime the get on the field..In the games Valenti has been called upon, he is a good in and under player..Strong, fairly quick, and he's decision making is excellent.. Bartram - Started his career as a tagger, is a decent run with player, but lately has been played as a HB...And with respect to Clint with the passing of his father, but he has been ordinary at best in the last couple of seasons..Yes he is still young, but i think he makes very poor decisions by foot and by hand..And personally don't see the value with him at the club...If he is a run with player, i think Dunn is better than that and can hurt you the other way..Clint cant do this.. Buckley - This guy should not be considered...Last season Bucks showed he has searing pace..and when fully fit he is that midfielder we need running the lines...Should not even be in discussion..Bails has said throughout the season that he is an exciting player and he has been cut down with a groin problem all year..He has massive X factor..
  8. Do you prefer Sylvia through the midfield or the forward line though? Definitely his best games this season past have been through the midfield... Green I think should slot into the forward line, but he potentially could be used in that sweeper role down back as he has been....Unless this has been left to Bruce..
  9. Luke Tapscott (North Adelaide, SA) Height: 180cm, Weight: 86kg, DOB: 28/06/91 Recruited from: Orroroo Powerful forward/midfielder with great hands. Foot skills and ball winning abilities are both exceptional. Strong performer for SA at NAB AFL U18 Championships with 30 inside 50s, nine goals and All-Australian honours Big bodied medium forward/midfielder that is very strong overhead and has great nous for goals. Luke has been named in the NAB 2009 U18 All Australian Team From what I have seen from Luke, he is one of the medium sized forward who is already built like a house, strong, uses his body well and has that grunt that Melbourne need!! We have Bate who is essentially a medium forward with strength, but apart from Bate, who else do we have? We need to develop this area of the club...Too many skinny kids in there that are small forwards..We need someone who can make the forward 50 his own and hold his ground, take a strong mark, kick goals and show some forward pressure and grunt... Some recruiters liked his body shape and style to Leigh Matthews which is a pretty massive wrap... Would this guy slip through to Pick 11 (should the Mclean deal go through) ? Or would someone like Port snap him up before we get the chance?
  10. Obviously Jetta has talent... But wouldn't using a potential pick 11 on a small forward....But a medium to tall forward.. This would be a better option rather than load up with these sorts of players with similar characteristics? We have Maric, Jetta etc whom need a chance to develop...and a chance to taste the bigtime a lot more... I think getting Lewis Jetta at Pick 11 would be a mistake..
