Everything except the statement by Clark himself plus Roos, Mahoney and Jackson plus a score of media types which have all provided fodder for the discussion
Completely disagree with this important point. It has been claimed that 6 clubs are interested in him - of course they are, if he is fit and healthy then he is going to be a massive get for somebody. If we trade with another club surely it will be for something n the 20s or better if a bidding war gets underway.
What GNF said, that was later reported by the Ox, was essentially that Mitch had screwed us over and told us he's going elsewhere
After that, popular opinion seems to have morphed into a story about us not wanting Mitch
The second story is easier to deal with emotionally but I don't think it's the truth
If the second story is a fabrication from the club it doesn't help us cos it drops his trade/compo value
Though I would love to keep Clark, the more freedom we have for Roos and co to bring in new players the better - Roosy has already proven his aptitude in this area by getting 3 imports who all finished in the top 5 of the bluey
I agree with those saying it felt like he is gone and now Roosy is just trying to get the best we can in return for him. He did say 'we'll talk to him again' so maybe there is some hope there. GNF was spot on I feel, in that Clark appears to have defaulted on a gnetleman's agreement at the last minute.. Who knows what they might have in mind for a trade for another established player. When one door closes another opens and we won't know for years if this is a shafting or not..
Just remember though, the last time we got a nut-kick was with Scully, but it actually turned out pretty well for us when the dust settled
If, as some are pondering, we can turn this into a top 5 draft pick then we win
if that happens it's a win. I absolutely rate Clark but it is true that there is a decent chance he won't play many more games. If we have 3 in the top 5 we can really set ourselves up.
Of course, we will be starting 2015 ANOTHER 216 games experience down which is the last thing we need
unless of course we use picks to trade for established talent
Was probably hoping like the rest of us that Roosy would immediately pull us out of the mire... since that hasn't happened poor old Mitchy might be thinking it's all a bit too hard to go back to a struggling club
