With the long list of midfielders we'll have after adding Scully & Trengove, surely Temel is a worthwhile punt at pick 11. Slot Temel in at FF. It's not often you hear of 18 year olds needing to lose weight to play footy, so this kid, with the right training and motivation should wind up a man-mountain Lockettesque FF. Question is, with 20 goals in 3 finals, will he last to pick 11? Or better, is it worth risking trying to pick him up with pick 18?

I am sad about this, but I can see how it's happened. As others have intimated, I think Brock has seen our recruiting aims as a vote of no confidence - where would he fit into a midfield with Scully, Trengove, Jones etc in 3 year's time? I wish Brock the best of luck, and despite the fact that he's gone to the biggest bunch of cheats in the world, I hope he finds some finals success that he deserves, just in time before the Dees dominate and win a flag. Have only seen Morabito and Trengove on youtube. Morabito looks a one-trick-pony to me. Runs hard at the ball, gets it, and then kicks it long without looking where it's going... Trengove on the other hand looks just as courageous but with a footy brain and is a good kick. Morabito just seems too much of a risk to me. Maybe he'll end up a Darren Milllane type, or maybe he'll turn out to be just another early developed man amongst boys whose trick won't work so well against blokes his own size and development... Trengove by a long way for me.

I'm excited about it too. I think we're going to have to be patient though, as Blease, Strauss and Watts aren't likely to fire out of the blocks and we might cop a couple of losses more than we expected when our new midfield (BOASTING TOM SCULLY I MIGHT ADD) hits the park. I'm fully prepared to watch them become footballers at the expense of a couple of games that older heads may have won. Go Dees.

I hadn't thought of that. It would be great to see Green slotting them through from 50m out on the boundary. My preference in the draft is definitely to take Trengove rather than Butcher. I also think Trengove looks a better prospect than Morabito.

I agree too. Good post. We have to build a premiership midfield and the rest will take care of itself. Jamar kicking 5 goals in a game recently was encouraging. I keep thinking about the WCE team who had Lynch at FF - I don't rate him at all but he managed to enough b/c of the Eagles' midfield supply.
