  1. I think you meant to quote Trust Fund Baby.
  2. Just putting it out there that the gap b/w these picks might not be so great. Pretty sure I quoted the article on his marking ability and ferocity at the ball. 2 weeks ago this forum was split on who to take at number 2, Trengove or Morabito. Now, after two Trengove games since, anybody who puts forward a discussion on the possibility of a different selection is in your firing line!!! You need to pull up and put your manners back in. You're already due to be mildly embarrassed by your incessant displays of man-love, don't compound it by selectively quoting people to suit your own needs. It's a site for opinion.
  3. If you go through the variations in the reaction times of the world's top sprinters, you'll find they vary by 0.05 quite regularly. My point is that a difference of 0.02 (b/w Jetta and Trengove) is not a significant one. You'd only start talking about a difference after ~ 0.05 (and even then you'd want a consistent difference over a number of trials). Take home message - Trengove's fast out of the blocks.
  4. The Advertiser in Adelaide is the most parochial load of rubbish I have ever had to endure. There's every chance they have just straight-up fabricated this story.
  5. I strongly disagree with you on this one Jacey. Luke Ball will be spoken to and offered terms before he needs to choose b/w the ND and the PSD. If he nominates the ND, he will directly cost us pick 18 (which I personally would not use for him). If, after speaking to our club, he nominates for the ND, he is stating quite simply that he does not want to be at Melbourne. If true, I don't want him at Melbourne.
  6. What do you mean? Is this another meatballs gag?
  7. "Cunnington would almost kill someone to get to the ball, and can go forward; he and Trengove are probably the best marks in the midfield group." Interesting quote. I saw an interview with Cunnington on the AFL website. He has a very thick neck! Looks like a rugby forward. So apparently he takes a nice grab too. Would anyone (apart from you Krazy4JT )really mind if we picked him up instead of Trengove.
  8. Reports of my humility have been grossly exaggerated.
  9. I've wondered about that too. I think they'll use it. Hold on tight for another Bailey enema this year.
  10. I think that's a terrific point. I hadn't thought of that. Any other way and he is costing the club a pick - then he'd be as popular as a red-headed stepchild.
  11. The team listed above looks great. The 'any of' IC list shows that we would be able to cover injured on-ballers pretty well. I agree with the size issue up forward and for this reason I hope we take a punt on Temel. Anyone have any idea if we would be safe (i.e. he won't already be taken) to pick him up with pick 18? Also, does anyone know how Garland's foot is coming along? Wonna's hammy? I really hope those two are up and about for the preseason.
  12. Fair enough big fella. Hope we find you a favorite current player soon! Looking forward to the draft.
  13. Great minds think alike (though small minds seldom differ) Of course you do mate. It's the internet. I take your opinion with the very same grain. I did watch young JT live today though, and cannot agree with you that he's a star already. Maybe one day, maybe.
  14. Haha. Neither could most of the sheilas I've dated. Didn't find it affected how they handled though
  15. Overall, I'd say Trengove showed some promise today. He did some classy things, but had too little of the ball b/c his team was outclassed and spent the day chasing tail. On the negative side, I wasn't too impressed by his commitment to the ball when facing one on one head on decisions. For an 18 y/o kid to play in that Grand Final today, and get 20+ touches in a losing side was a fantastic effort. I like him, and would be happy if the Dees took him, but let's not start labeling him a star quite yet. From the footage I've seen of Scully (No Hannibal, not live - sorry), I think Scully is still clearly the #1 pick.
  16. Jeeze Delta Goodrum's rootable.
  17. Not a wrap for his last two tackling attempts. He's good from behind, but tends to step to the side of oncoming opponents and put the token gesture arm out. That's rubbish.
  18. Oakey dokey.... Trengove just had 5 bounces down the wing, including an episode of dummy-salesmanship and then hit his target with a nice kick. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOUT!!!
  19. Number 40. I think he's just had a rest on the pine as I haven't seen him in about 10 minutes. Hopefully he caomes back on and gets a few kicks.
  20. Trengove just fumbled at centre half back, leading to a turnover and goal. Ouch. He had a fairly simple gather and it bounced of his thigh straight into the hands of the opposition. BTW - I really like this kid and would be more than happy if the Dees take him - I'm just giving an honest account of what's happening. He's 18 y/o FCS, and he looks to be the type who will become an excellent footballer - Just don't sit at home thinking his selection will make a big impact on 2010 b/c he's got some work to do, just like any 18 y/o. I suspect Scully will be in a similar boat, as will Blease, Strauss, and Watts has already shown the same. My point is... let's not offload too many of our experienced players for these top 20 picks. I think we have enough picks, and don't want MFC to err on the side of putting too many kids on the ground next year - it could be ugly. Update - Trengove misses his target by foot - turnover. Hope he can do something to up his confidence.
  21. Thanks for the weblink - live video. Excellent quality. http://www.justin.tv/nelliek9 Central look far too fast and clean. Trengove has had a couple of touches I've seen, including a nice contested mark. He's lacking in support though, and large chunks of time pass where he's not on the screen at all. It won't hurt his development one bit though this game.
  22. Well done [censored]. You've successfully managed to get more anonymous 'supporters' to let another two players know how little they are appreciated... like they needed any help. Good work to the real supporters who backed these two terrific Melbourne players.
  23. Absolutely rapt that he has resigned. I was very worried. As late as tonight I was listening to the radio ( McGuire et. al.) and it was mentioned that Davey was attracting interest from other teams. 4 years is a great outcome.
