It's not so much the flat spots in games that worry as every team has them, it's a very taxing game this modern AFL caper. Its more the mindset going into games like Nth, Freo , Hawks and especially Collingwood in the last round. We should have been breathing fire and ready to tear the pies a new one.

I'm always concerned when people say give them time to develop ,re OMac etc... If you're serious and pushing for finals you cannot afford that luxury,the penny has to drop at some stage. Casey is where they should be developing until they bang down the door. You don't see people "developing" in the Premier league or in most other top level sport for that matter.

It just didn't seem like the players really wanted it in the second half of the year. That brand of fierce frenetic footy was the exception rather than than the rule.

This is a blessing in disguise , it will finally make the players realize that destiny is in their own hands and to make sure they bring that intensity to the start of every game. Hopefully it will give us a harder edge

Reconstruct our key backline talls with Kielty and Lever and we will be harder and more skillful, eliminate those ridiculous McDonald turnovers and we would've won another two games at least. Joel Smith to get games ahead of people like Vince as well

As Goodwin has said all along , it's where you sit after the final round that counts. Even though we have a talented list, we seem to lack heart when it counts, and in the final analysis we're just not good enough to compete in finals.

Felt worse this morning. anylysing the game I thought we came back pretty strongly but were very fumbly and nervy . Something is wrong with Maxy just seems to lack his usual energy. Looking back to the St Kilda game where we were on fire in the first quarter and then yesterday's game where we had everything on the line and had zero tackles in the first 12 minutes is just baffling to me. Is it the coaches job to fire up the players before a game? Is Goodwin too laid back?
