Salem turning it over a fair bit tonight. We are dominating hit outs but not scoring from clearance at all.

They got 7 goals from turnovers and free kicks in the back half . Theres the game right there. Our disposal out of defense was shoddy and we didn’t remain calm when needed, which was uncharacteristic for our backs. Also pretty undisciplined with a lot of head high tackles. Sure a lot were 50/50 but you can’t trust the umps to pay it your way. We had plenty of chances to ice the game in the last two minutes but instead of protecting the ball we gave it right back to them.

I was very disappointed in Maxy in the last quarter, one inside fifty he kicked it straight to a Hawks player then with a couple of minutes to go and a goal up he just bombed it in and they ran it out. Had he kicked it short or even backwards to milk the clock we would have won.

I really can’t stand Dwayne Russell’s commentary. He always calls for what he hopes to see and not what’s really happening. For example you can see as clear as day that a shot for goal is missing by miles and he says, “ it’s coming back it’s coming back , could it could it possibly! No Dwayne it’s not ?

What we have to worry about is reduced seating capacity due to Covid may see a final played in Geelong , so we definitely don’t want them finishing above us.

Brilliant round of footy sets up our second half of the year. Its all in our own hands now.

Great game by Harry last night, beautiful to watch.

I like Weed and hope he gets back to some good form, but this year Brenny Brown has performed better when in the side, and that’s mainly because he is clunking more marks and his leading patterns are better and more reliable . The other forwards can get out the back and have more room to move as well as less pressure with Ben matching up on the best tall back.

I love the old ABC days , just describing the play and not being too opinionated and cheesy with the jokes.

The connection between Gawn , Trac and Clarry is good tonight and Brown balances out the forward line much better. We also started better this week and those were the three things we wanted to improve on.
