  1. No, Maynard was reckless in jumping in the air and lunging towards Brayshaw. Brayshaw was not contesting the ball, he had the ball and was disposing of it. He was open without an ability to protect himself and Maynard had a duty of care. Maynard was clearly determined to "make him earn it" and propelled himself into Brayshaw in a bumping action with elbow tucked and hitting Brayshaw with his shoulder. Whether it happened after he was attempting to smother is irrelevant. Once he had missed the smother he could have done a number of things to stop him cannoning into Brayshaw but instead of trying to minimise the force he barrelled into him, causing a concussion. Part of the duty of care is also making sure he does not act recklessly when attempting to smother, tackle, mark etc. He must get at least 3 weeks or the AFL will again be seen to be a hypocritical joke.
  2. That's an extremely simplistic view of things. People who were confident we would beat the Pies were proven to have every right to be confident considering the key stats not least of which being inside 50s and expected score. You're acting as though we could never have won on Thursday without a genuine kpf when clearly we could have.
  3. He's not wrong though. We are starting down the barrel of back to back straight sets exits after never leaving the G! We won in 2021 with the rent-a-crowds riding us home, back at the G we've struggled to assert a home crowd/19th man even when playing interstate teams. This must have a psychological impact in the players.
  4. Our small forwards have been disappointing since start of 2022. 2021 the pressure and crumb from our small forwards was a huge part of the reason we went all the way. Long bombs into the forward line should be relying on our small forwards winning the ground ball after the contest but that hasn't happened. Collingwood swept up the footy time and again with minimal pressure and worked it out of defense.
  5. Yep Collingwood are going to waltz into the GF. Let's hope it's another Colliwobbles Classic.
  6. Yep you're correct, both academy picks my bad
  7. Convert the chances we get. We got enough chances on Thursday we just did not convert them. And they weren't all low percentage shots as evidenced by the expected score.
  8. Only if he's used as a decoy or get out of jail long kick. Otherwise we're relying on his set shots which would be nerve wracking.
  9. If Fritsch converts the shots he usually does are we even talking about this? The loss was bloody infuriating but things are never as bad as they seem. You can guarantee we will be focussing on f50 entries this week and lowering the eyes. Should be another belter of a game.
  10. We should have
  11. To them I say HTFU The players deserve our support, win or lose they have tried their guts out all year, the Essendon game being the anomaly.
  12. Pick 9 Weideman Pick 10 H McKay Pick 12 C Curnow Pick 14 Hipwood Pick 16 H Himmelberg Oh what might have been ๐Ÿ˜”
  13. Too true ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ญ
  14. Yeah I would never feel it was unsafe to bring my kids though. My 10yo is a bit more sensitive and doesn't really like going to games anyway due to the crowds but my 8yo is fine. They are a real pack of animals though I agree, I just laugh at them though. It's an experience that's for sure ๐Ÿ˜‚
  15. I was in the AFL members (level 4) with my 8yo. We were fine.
  16. You're not wrong but they're pretty big tweaks. I just don't see it.
  17. I would love that
  18. I don't think it can be one. It will be either 3+ or nothing.
  19. I would've liked to see them switch Kozzie and Petracca at least for some time last night. I'd like to see Rivers get some minutes in the middle too and surely Jordon comes in for Brayshaw.
  20. I believe all of them except Richmond 2020 defeated their QF opponent in the GF which would be oh so sweet.
  21. We had a midfield combo that allowed Petracca to move forward with Oliver out, I don't see why it would be different with Oliver back and Gus out.
  22. A couple of Pies fans I spoke to quickly today - I didn't say much just asked them what they thought. Both said they thought Pies controlled the game for 3/4's and we made a late run but was too little too late. I thought I must have watched a different game.
  23. Richmond 2020, Hawks 2015, WCE 06, Syd 05? Bris 03? It's happened but it's not the preferred route, obviously.
  24. Michael Christian has more than overstayed his welcome as MRO. The system is terrible with one person effectively making the decisions and only reviewing things that are brought to his attention anyway. He is a boofhead whose sole credentials are that he played for Collingwood and was a commentator post-career.
  25. I hope David King is in the media this week saying how Melbourne should get 75% of the seats against Carlton because it's our home game ๐Ÿคจ
