Agreed it's the one that got away for me - Gawn simply HAS to kick that goal. We pressed for the whole last quarter, just couldn't get in prime goal scoring position. The one that was touched off the boot, the one that bounced on its end in the goal square, the several misses from difficult set shots. A shame because we really should be beat that mob. There was another where Melksham should've handbalked over to Fritsch (that may have been 2nd quarter?) plus Petraccas missed set [censored] in the 3rd. The second quarter is concerning, last year we had way too many quarters where we were outscored by 5+ goals and it cost us several games. That is the one concern I take out of the game. The good sign is we came back, the bad sign is we shouldn't have been that far done.

Did he play full forward today? I only caught half a quarter or so at the start but it seemed he was the deep key forward which is interesting if that's their plan for him this year.

A ruthless attack on the footy is a minimum requirement for senior footy. The players are paid to perform for 3 hours a week if they can't bring the required effort for that time then they shouldn't be playing. The only way you can win in this comp is to have a better attack on the footy than your opponent.

Maynard and Wagner are clearly depth players, I'm not sure what you're trying to argue.

Questioning a depth players inclusion at the expense of a best 22 player does not make him a "whipping boy" get a grip

I thought it was an entertaining game, great start to the season with 2 really good games. (2nd quarter may have been a bit sloppy, I was building Lego with my kids but had it on in the background and noticed the scoreboard wasn't ticking over) Can't wait for Sunday!

Rance does exactly the same thing in every single marking contest. At least one occasion a Blues player was shoves directly into another Blues player, both looking at the footy (quite dangerous if they clash heads). Nothing from the commentators or umpires for that matter.

Last year a majority of games were won by the side that brought the required effort and willingness/ability to run run run and pressure the opposition. Same has happened so far with both Tigers and Bombers running their opponents off their feet in the last quarter.

Wagner over anyone is ridiculous he is useless. Bugg & Tyson very stiff, so is Brayshaw if it's unrelated to his wisdom teeth.

I'm not writing him off, just saying I'll see it as a bonus if he comes on.

Some of his performances last year were underwhelming. I'm not saying he won't make it but I'm not banking on it

I didn't think Stretch was that impressive in JLT. He got a few touches here and there but just a link in the chain type of player at the moment. If he's going to be that he needs to get 25-30 touches not 15-20.

Stoked to hear this news but never really thought it was in doubt with the faith the club has shown in him since before draft night.

If Weideman ever becomes a consistent senior player for us I'll see it as a bonus and pleasant surprise.

Just an update on this - it came in the mail yesterday (2 days after my son's bday) and was sent express post so not sure when they actually sent it, must've been Friday at the earliest. The balloons and candles are no use but my son will love the card signed by the players abd the personally autographed pic of Petracca.
