  1. With Bennells history of calf injuries it doesn't surprise me he has been rested off a 4 day break
  2. We play into the "small club" mindset by not challenging these decisions. As above we didn't even challenge the Moloney one!
  3. You have to penalise the action not the consequence. If a tackle is dangerous/sling it has the capacity to knock someone out regardless of whether it actually does or not
  4. Yes they did and then a few weeks later he did another sling tackle and got off again.
  5. The dinky kicks would be ok going inside 50, short passes to set up set shots at goal
  6. Exactly the Absolute Farce League rolls on. It's a massive jocks club, if you're not one of the popular ones you get hung out to dry. No way Dusty, Cotchin, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Neale etc etc get 4 weeks for the same incident. Only some relative no name like ANB because the AFL can be seen to be tough on "dangerous tackles". The club should challenge on the grounds the Tribunals decision was excessive and refer to previous incidents as precedence. He didn't even have both arms pinned which is usually the litmus test for dangerous sling tackles.
  7. Surely the AFL wouldn't have double standards? I mean if a player like Trent Cotchin bumped someone like Dylan Shiel in the head in a Preliminary Final there is no way the AFL would let them off so they could play in the Grand Final
  8. I don't think Praha was saying we should trade Oliver. He was only stating what they would be worth in a trade
  9. You don't let a player like Viney walk. Ludicrous suggestion
  10. He's a forward flank type player. Roos tried to mould him into a half back thinking he could be our Hodge styoe quarterback setting up play with his kicks but I think he's wasted back there. Get him up the ground, setting up our inside 50s and pressing forward for goals as he has good goal sense. His tackling is pretty good too and I reckon he would improve our inside 50 retention.
  11. We can chuck in both Wagners as a sweetener
  12. This ones up there with the Somerton Man in terms of South Australian mysteries
  13. Crunched May in the head - who did NOT get a free kick???
  14. That plus their mate (and Adelaide board member) Ricciuto was riding the boundary
  15. Yeah pretty sure the graphic showed he had 90% accuracy from there.
  16. Not sure about the minutes but Brayshaw started in the centre square at the first bounce. Viney, Oliver and Brayshaw with Petracca up forward
  17. I hope it's confidence and not bathwater
  18. Jesus guy can't take a break! Just came back from a fractured cheekbone after years of foot injuries
  19. An 8 goal win is par. Not unhappy but not doing cartwheels. This game was enjoyable to watch especially the last quarter and especially seeing some key players stand up. But it doesn't mean anything much other than a regulation 4 points. Bank another regulation 4 points on Sunday with another 8 goal win and then I want to see how they go in the month after that. That will show where this team is at.
  20. The umps clearly got on the Crows at $3 just like I did. That umpiring was worse than anything I've seen in WA over the years, land of the home cooked umpiring. I reckon Weid is coming on really well. Pretty unconvincing win for me even for 50 pts - it was really just the last quarter the first 3 quarters were pretty rubbish except for Viney and Oliver.
  21. The problem is if the player (ie Brayshaw/Harmes) offers us little when they're not in the midfield we still have a problem. They need to be able to contribute when they are on the wing/flanks otherwise they are just list cloggers.
  22. The guy who almost single-handedly willed us over the line against the Lions?
  23. We'll be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for Brayshaw and no-one is giving up anything for Sparrow. He would be a delist not a trade.
  24. Oliver is nowhere near a generational player. He has a long way to go, needs to hurt the opposition with his disposal and start hitting the scoreboard. At the moment he is a decent starting mid and nothing more, would be lucky to crack the top 100 in the comp.
