  1. If we miss the finals, it’s better that we miss by a lot. We’d get a bottom 6 draw next year if we finished 13th. Id rather us try to win and in-still good habits into the younger brigade but if things go to form Friday night, we are a chance to go winless the rest of the year. A healthy list and an easier draw would be awesome for us.
  2. I agree that we need a reset. Although I don’t see much difference between finishing 8th (if we miraculously make it) or 10-12th in terms of draft hand. However, I would like to see Jefferson and Doggy Brown squeeze in 1 or 2 games if possible and trial young players who have stalled, such as Bowey, a run in a different position.

Someone who is suffering from mental illness could potentially be more susceptible to the false narrative pushed by footy journos. Cornes pushing the story that we should offload his contract followed by journos speculating that Oliver is unhappy and/or the club is too won’t be helping Clarrie. Its amazing, given that everyone has an idea of Clarrie’s mental state, that these low life’s don’t drop the story or at least get called out by other journos with something resembling a moral compass. The whole thing is very disappointing and a horrible reflection of the general public’s thirst for news and the organisations that feed it.

Is that pic legit? I don’t watch the show he is on. I’d rather sleep.
  5. The internet and forums like Demonland are a weird place at times. If Binman and (insert disgruntled Demonland member here) were to be having these debates over a beer before a game, there would be way less vitriol and more constructive conclusions. Instead, people on Demonland get very personal and worked up about someone else’s opinion.

Watched the Kangas vs Blues 2nd half. LDU is exactly what we need. Wins his own ball, kicks well on both feet and grits his teeth and explodes from the contest. I would give up a lot for him but I’m pretty sure he’s said recently that he wants to stay.
  7. There were a bunch of very influential Carlton supporters who wanted them to trade Cripps when he had a couple of injury interrupted years. Questioned his focus and commitment etc. I guarantee they are happy the club trusted their judgement and kept Cripps.

I’m stunned. Two weeks ago I was told he still had an offer from Adelaide. I love him as a defender. Not so much as a forward. He was serviceable today in a woeful team though.

We should see if Salem gets us anything though

Billing’s holds the ball in a very unconventional way. The result was worse.

Good mark by Petty. Drifted in from the side like a defender… šŸ¤”

Their speed, patience and foot skills are picking us apart.

I love the way Serong hunts the footy at speed.

Langdon sticks out because he covers the ground like the Freo mids. Our spread is almost as bad as our clearance work.

Well we have a lot of scope for improvement…

We pushed him out. It was our decision.

There was a pic of Oliver’s hand the week he came back doing the rounds at the time. Considering his hand was stuffed before he had it operated on, his ability to play post surgery was incredible. It looked awful. Up until this year, he’s been one of our top 3 players since his 2nd season. People should give him a break and be respectful of his illness.

Tom Morris wouldn’t want to cross paths in a dark alley with Jesse Hogan. He is a pathetic human. He should still be virtually unemployable with his track record. It’s bewildering that he is still in the industry.
  19. Of course he is a legend of the club. They are bloody hard to win and he got us over the line. He’s not Stevie Armstrong, he’s a Premiership Coach! I am not his biggest fan and even I can acknowledge that. We should’ve won last year too! I do apportion some of the blame for missing on Goody though. It was plain to see that we needed to turn the list a little at the latter stages of 2022. The fact that we couldn’t replace Brayshaw with a serviceable player in the finals was a reflection on his lack of forward thinking. Then…. Schache…. He deserves this season to trial some players and load up for 2025.

Can’t help but I have a bet with the family. if we win the next 2, I go to the Gold Coast and thaw out while watching the footy. If I lose, my wife gets a weekend retreat. I assume the dees will have some sort of function up there…. As long as we win the next 2!! šŸ™
  21. Speak to anyone in AFL circles and they will tell you Petty will again ask to be traded. That should give us some more draft capital. If the top 40 is as deep as one people and posters think, it represents a good chance for us to pickup 3-4 players.
  22. JT is on record as saying that they like his attitude and power. Hopefully he can play a couple more games with Casey to show some other skills. I think he is relatively underexposed which is odd given his heritage. He used to tell people he liked soccer more than AFL which is not unusual for sons of guns. I went to school with Kevin Bartlett’s kid and he always said that he barracked for Brisbane and preferred tennis and cricket to AFL.
  23. I played on him for 15 min when he was 15-16 and I was 17-18. He was comically good. I was psyched when we drafted him. The good thing to come out of that 15 min from my perspective was that my then coach never experimented with me in the midfield ever again.

I was reasonably confident we’d go well on the weekend as they are massive pretenders in terms of their results from a very easy draw. Nothing would make me happier than them either missing out on the finals all together or making an elimination final only to lose. It’s a win-win either way.

I wish. It would be way more scandalous and interesting. I could be a paid journo like the rest of those media muppets.
