  1. Or Roos simply wants his own people in those positions. It may simply be a result of the restructured football department.
  2. There's definitely a number of threads on this already, but Watts will play on the wing and I'm not sure Fitzpatrick will get much of a regular look in.
  3. Been meaning to watch all of 'Dark City'. Saw bits of it in school and then film school. Eraserhead is brilliant and the cinematography and music in Bladerunner is amazing. Not the biggest fan of 'The Fifth Element' though.
  4. My god, Breaking Bad's third last episode. Crazy. Just crazy.
  5. He's out of contract though. I reckon they'd settle for pick 10 over nothing.
  6. I just hope Richmond don't get their hands on Boyd...
  7. Parker is going to be a gun. He probably already is.
  8. I'm easily more excited by the looming finale episode of BB than I am of the Grand Final.
  9. I'm probably not alone here, but I'm holding out some hope that Sydney can beat Freo next week, while Geelong continue their hoodoo over Hawthorn. It'd then be ideal, but highly unlikely, that Sydney then beat Geelong in the big one. I'm hoping that given Freo have never made a Grand Final, they will be very nervous next week. Similarly, I trust Geelong still have the psychological edge over Hawthorn.
  10. Whereas it had me crying. Big old softie, I am. Good on you boys. Nice cinematography too.
  11. Roos mentioned he'd have Watts on the wing for Round 1, during his article in the paper back in July. This is where Watts will play.
  12. Perhaps it's his kicking that is imprinted firmly on my conscious? Those stats are surprising, but don't tell the full story. I wouldn't have either of them as captain, mate. I'd look at Jones. I'd say someone like Dawes, but he can't stay on the park for long enough. Whereas, Jones is durable and has improved his decision making in the past two years, therefore his disposal has undoubtedly increased in efficiency. I'd have Trengove and Grimes in the leadership group though. I agree. I said as much in my post. They have to be reliable players though. When Grimes isn't injured, he tends to turn it over indiscriminantly by foot. I love Grimes' passion for the contest and his obvious love for the club. I understand he has wonderful preparation, I just don't rate him on the footy field yet.
  13. He was still butchering the ball though, Chook. I'm not saying he can't or won't improve, I just don't think he should be captain right now. As a team mate, you'd be watching him turn it over and wondering, why is he the guy that's leading us? You don't have to be an A grader to be captain, but your capabilities should be a little higher than C grade. Anyway, it's good having a coach that really seems to care about his players. He seems to be an amazing man manager.
  14. I just question whether a C grade footballer should be captain. Trengove was B grade for mine this year. I'd keep him as captain sooner than Grimes.
  15. Only problem with Grimes is he's at best a C grade footballer.
  16. I'm not a big Star Wars fan, but I really enjoyed the final three films (or the first, depending which way you look at it). My favourite is Episode 3.
  17. What I don't understand is why the big studios haven't started capping their budgets at $100 mill. You can't put $100 mill in every time and expect the film to make its budget back. The budget was $150 mill and it's made something like $40 or $50 mill at the moment. It's going to be a bomb. It is a bomb. Get the scripts right, Hollywood. I had this conversation with a few friends today. Instead of $150 mill for one big romp, why not $100 for the romp and then $50 for 5 smaller projects with box office potential? Ridiculous. Definitely staying clear of 'White House Down'. Looking forward to 'World War Z 2' though. That was $150 mill, but was shot twice and still made its budget back. The rest of the studio stuff has been thoroughly underwhelming since MGM's 'Skyfall'.
  18. A much better way of doing it IMO.
  19. The names Ablett, Prestia and O'Meara probably have something to do with it.
  20. I'll be happy with getting out of the bottom four. This will probably mean between 5 and 7 wins. That's generous, but ultimately realistic, if we get some midfield reinforcements for Jones and Viney.
  21. Spot on, Red. I hope PJ is thinking this and I hope someone from the club is reading this thread.
  22. Sorry. I probably should have stipulated why. He seems ridiculously arrogant and to be honest not that insightful. I would point to his time in the media. Let me put this to you too. If Voss had gotten the senior coaching gig for 2014, would you be happy? I'd be shattered. I will trust Roos' decision making, but I don't think he'll go near Voss for the senior assistant role.
