  1. I'm not sure I would. It'd really depend on what the other offers were though. I'd take the offer if it was the only one we received though.
  2. A good mixture of outside run, carry and polish, with well built inside mids.
  3. I'd take Vince for a third or fourth rounder, nothing more.
  4. Steven, Dyson, Shiel and Bennell for pick #2 or separate offers?
  5. How are his hands, M? Just workmanlike? Sounds like Sewell otherwise.
  6. He's another Caulfield Grammarian. Massive Collingwood fan. Can't see him agreeing to that. Buckley likes him too.
  7. I agree, but Bassett and Jarman were two others. Jarman only threatened it, Bassett did it. We take the best player available though. We're just lucky this is a midfield draft. Of course, it may not come to that.
  8. I have the Breaking Bad pilot script. I've always loved the fact that Jesse's name was originally Dupree. I agree, guys. Really fitting ending to one of my favourite shows of all time. I can't split it or 'The Shield' for best ending.
  9. Sorry about all those posts everyone. And yes, I am aware of the irony of this post.
  10. Haven't seen 'The Snake Pit'. Sounds a little Hitchcockian or Cabinet of Calagariesque. Off to download that one. Have you seen 'Twisted Nerve', HT? Great little thriller. You probably know that Tarantino used Hermann's theme in Kill Bill. Oh and also, on Wages of Fear, I found it mind-numbling dull, having had it hyped to me. But Clouzot's 'Les Diabolique' is probably one of the greatest films ever made.
  11. Seen Casino Royale? That has a black & white pre title sequence.
  12. 'Frances Ha' is a bizarre film. The first half is like a poorly acted, scripted and shot student film. The second half brings into focus the neurotic, self-important mutterings of its middle/upper class director. It reminded me of a poorer version of GIRLS, which I find has similar flaws. "Oh, it's so tough being a middle class white kid. How ever will I afford my $4,000 per week apartment? Don't live there then, [censored]." End rant.
  13. I like it, but I actually think we did it better with 'Chopper'. It has more style than 'Chopper' though. Very much trying to channel something out of Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange'.
  14. Got 'What's Up Tiger Lilly' the other day. Will probably watch it over the weekend. I concur in a sense RE: the uniqueness. Particularly true of his early films. Whereas, films like 'Manhattan' and 'Husbands & Wives' carry strong similarities (falling for a woman that are way too young for the male character) and he's pretty much always divorcing someone or being divorced. 'Shadows & Fog' is a great little homage, but I found it a little dull and I'm a big fan of German Expressionism. 'Sleeper' is amazing though.
  15. I was the same until I saw 'Hannah & Her Sisters'. I didn't get 'Annie Hall' the first two times I watched it. Wasn't for me. Haven't re-watched it since, but Hannah is just a brilliant film. 'Husbands & Wives' is the other classic. 'Love & Death' is awesome. 'Interiors' is dramatic, but if you like Bergman (as I do), you'll love it.
  16. Is this serious a post? Wow, it's another Demonland doozie.
  17. Tapscott's the sort of player (read spud) that Carlton's old regime would have picked up from us. Given that's he's still contracted and they'd have to give up something for him, he won't be at the CFC next year.
  18. As long as they are replaced with better players, I don't have a problem trading either of them.
  19. The second part being "unless we can get Dylan Shiels we are keeping pick 2", goodoil?
  20. I read this as a warning to Frawley. I reckon he's trying to get him to commit to a contract extension early. A statement proffered by the Ralph, not Roos.
  21. Spon on, Ben. I'm not a fan of McKenzie either. He's a very, very limited footballer, but I'd agree he seems to have lost a lot of confidence since Bailey left. Under Neeld, it seems he wasn't nurtured, surprise, surprise. I couldn't see him surpassing C grade, but I will be interested to see how Roos shapes him. Ideally though, if we want to improve as a team, McKenzie should be pushed out by better players. However, he may just have a place in the current team as a tagger. He has to hurt the opposition more though. Use that handball and kick the bloody thing too.
  22. Good post, M, but there is still going to be that stigma amongst opposition players, until we get our act together on-field. Off-field is sorting itself out slowly (seemingly), but unfortunately we can't really bemoan opposition players for turning us down. I would hope that during the next off season, we will be slightly better positioned, having put in a more competitive season with a few wins.
  23. I agree RE: casting a wider net and snagging a couple of younger midfielders. But surely Myers, Michie, Sewell, Cross and a GWS midfielder/Aish in the draft is the ideal trade/draft period? Suddenly, we might have depth for a year or two and all important competition for spots. If we're serious about improving, the Nicholson's, McKenzie's etc should be on the fringe and these aforementioned guys taking their places.
  24. There's a reason Aish would be going higher than Freeman/Sheed though, mate. I think Brad Crouch looks like an absolute beauty. If his brother is anything like him, I'd love him in our midfield, but I wouldn't be downgrading my top 2 pick to get him. Pick 2 should be reserved for an opposition midfielder we deem worthy of trading for it or elite talent in the draft. Our remaining picks (including the Sylvia compensation pick) should be utilised to improve our draft position if we deem it worthy and viable to get Freeman/Sheed. That said, both of those guys could fall to the end of the first round anyway.
