Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
I think Hunt is more likely to come in than Jeffy for Hannan. Jayden offers more flexibility, can play at both ends of the ground if required and may well be needed to match up on a Collingwood small forward. We'll see. That said, I think the most likely outcome is what many are saying and that's Pedersen for Smith and Smith for Lever. I think they'll start Smith as the interceptor, but will rotate between he and Hibberd.

What is Petracca's Position?
Basically, I agree. He might break out later this year, or it'll come next year, but if you compare his development with Gus' they're quite similar in terms of their trajectory. Gus has overtaken him at this point, but there's plenty of 2018 to go.

Peter Jackson's Replacement?
I want the best person available. If that comes from within, fantastic, but if it's an external appointment, so be it. It doesn't bother me at all that the AFL want to closely audit our progress. I don't have any trust in our football club not to [censored] it up again and neither should the AFL.

Tom McDonald Re-Signs for 4 Years
The worst thing about this news is that we get another terrible pun from Matt Burgan and Melbourne Media. "Tommy Gun Locked and Loaded"? You don't need puns for headlines anymore. We're in the 21st century. Other than that, great news.

Filling the hole left by Jake Lever’s injury
He's probably right. Frost v Hunt for the rebound position. Both quick, poor kicks and poor decision makers. But at least Frost has the versatility of height. Hunt doesn't.

Filling the hole left by Jake Lever’s injury
I'd mostly agree with this, although I've found Hunt slightly suspect one-on-one in the air and he'd certainly be placed in this position playing as third defender. We might be able to get away with it. Not sure if it works all year though.

Neville Jetta
The guy's a genius and one of the better football stories going around. Well done, Nev!

Round 11 Non-MFC Games
Yep and Collingwood still leaked goals at the end. Four in a row from memory. If we're on, the Scum don't stand a chance.

How Good is Goodwin?
He's bald as well? Poor bugger. Lucky I didn't get my old man's hairline.

Caro digs up old wounds of Camp Fiasco on eve of season.
Let's go with incredibly unreliable and is less than a 50/50 chance. ?

"Like having two Nick Riewoldts"
It won't be that simple given the way we rotate talls through our forward system, however I expect Dunn and Howe (if fit) to rotate between them both.

Changes v Collingwood
I'd have Smith over Weideman at the moment, but not in the mid term or long term. Unless things really change.

Changes v Collingwood
Pedersen doesn't bring the ball to ground as consistently as Smith has. I'm on record as saying (I think) that I didn't think Smith would make it. He's so far proved me wrong, which is great. He's a role player and he and the coaches should be commended for carving out a role for him. It's making me hold out hope for Joel Smith too, who has shown (in an albeit ridiculously short amount of time) absolutely nothing at senior level. But the coaches seem to love him, by all reports (admittedly Demonland ), so we'll see.

Round 11 Non-MFC Games
I would have agreed in previous years and been worried, but if we bring our manic pressure, they'll turn it over all day.

Changes v Collingwood
No IMO, this is because Frosty (and I'm a relative fan) doesn't read the game as well as Jake. Therefore, he doesn't get into the same spots to receive as Lever does. Still, he's probably the first cab off the rank to replace Jake.

Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL
Good luck with your recovery, Jake. I wonder if this changes our list strategy going forward with regards to who steps in to replace Lever.

That's game style though.

Post Match Discussion - Round 11
They sharked off Max all day. That's how they won the clearances. We're very aggressive at the stoppages and if Max doesn't win it, we tend to struggle on the inside. The pleasing thing was we murdered them on the outside yesterday, which has been a weakness of our for a few seasons. I thought we were very disorganised at the clearances anyway. Particularly, early on.

Post Match Discussion - Round 11
How was that check-sided kick of his off the Clarry back half clearance that opened up the ground under extreme frontal pressure. Pretty sure it resulted in a goal too. Thought he was really, really good again. Has been great since the Hawthorn/Richmond debacles, where he kept losing his feet and was out-positioned too often. Vince is mostly horrible. He's done.

Round 11 Non-MFC Games
At least, the Scum winning will ensure 85,000+ next week. Two teams flying. We should account for them easily, but how will we respond to Lever's injury? That's the big question. Watching Collingwood, it's likely watching 15 or so ANB's run around. They get a fair bit of it but turn it over under very little pressure. It'll be interesting to see how they go against our pressure if we bring it.

What the Fritsch
Agreed, except our current team have excelled recently by lowering their eyes and hitting short targets, but also being able to judge when to pull the trigger on the deeper kick too. Along with work rate and confidence, Hunt's kicking is the key thing keeping him out of the 22. Has he improved this area of his game in the 2's?

Agree with most of this, except for the point about Watts being traded for cap space. Jack was traded for game style and application.
