  1. Where was that posted? ANB is top 10 at the club imo. Way ahead of Salem, Brayshaw and Kent.
  2. Beyond that, he went straight to the club, admitted to have one pint and wasn't really "drunk", was just done because he was on his P's. I think it's one thing to be a teenager and get in trouble for literally having one drink, and being an 8-year player that still needs to have standards set.
  3. Imo Richmond of 2017 were better than Bulldogs of 2016.
  4. What does his latest Instagram post suggest? Seems to be Sandringham with the caption "nothing has changed, see you soon". If he doesn't nominate a club, does he stay?
  5. Yeah of course. I like that he's at the club but the whole thing is reliant more on us performing well more than it is Adelaide drafting well with those picks.
  6. This trade is essentially backing in the current group of players and coaching team. If we finish lower than 4th we've absolutely gifted Adelaide two good young players for one. This is the epitome of the club drinking its own bathwater. I don't mind it, and good to see the club backing itself in. But gee, it's an immense risk.
  7. Cats may well win the flag next year, but Ablett is finished. 10 games maximum next year.
  8. Eh. How many super drafts have Sydney, Hawthorn and Geelong not been part of the past decade? We have a core group of youngsters set. It's about filling in the pieces now which Lever helps do.
  9. Maybe better training standards? Physio? I was playing state-level basketball, football and tennis at the same time, which I assume led to the injury. Also went through a growth spurt and I remember my physio saying it was common in boys my age who were highly active. I was lazy with my stretching and recovery though, so maybe that's a contributing factor? It was so tight that sitting stationary for more than 10 minutes and then standing up would have me literally screaming in pain. And then I'd tense up which would affect the muscles around and...well...let's just say I went from bouncing off the walls in all facets to not wanting to do anything or have anyone touch me. It's a super sensitive area for obvious reasons so I imagine clubs just got on top of it (pun not intended) and managed the recovery of that area more. It's essentially an overuse injury, not something you get during a game or anything like that. So it makes sense that as training standards have improved, the rate of the injury has decreased.
  10. He had a great 2000 but the dreaded OP killed his 2001 and he just wasn't the same player in 2002. I had OP in my last year in high school and I remember reading an article where Powell said it was so bad he would fall to the ground in pain getting out of bed. It was the same for me and it is an awful injury to have because it completely ruins your mobility (and libido). There were quite a few players in the early 2000s who got it but you dont hear about it much anymore.
  11. ANB. No surprise that Nibbler's career best season coincided with Garrett's best season for us.
  12. The hate aimed at this kid from AFL nuffies is Selwood-like. You know you've got a keep when opposition fans hate his guts, AND he's winning awards.
  13. Rubbish. If throwing a contract extension and throwing him up as a pinup boy and marketing tool is akin to throwing him to the wolves, well then every club does this for every player ever! Roos made an effort with positive reinforcement and it's clear that Watts is the catalyst of an unprofessional stench that continues to linger.
  14. In Goodwin's defense, he's made it clear that he isn't interested in the past and is creating new history with his time as coach. That he's come in, dismissing the fact Watts has been a scapegoat for a decade yet still sees an issue there, is an indictment on Watts and certainly the club more broadly for having allowed it. I think there's a lot we don't know and I take it that his preparation post injury was the final nail in the coffin for a player that probably had a very interesting character assessment already established for Goodwin when he started. Roos has come in and applied positive reinforcement. We've given players everything they need to excel and grow their game. That we're still having these issues with him is an insult to the club and fans. He's not the sole reason for our end to the season, but I argue he's the catalyst. If he has the potential to be the cherry on top of a good team, fair to say he's going to stand out when the cherry is bruised. Imo this is 100% in his corner now. I believe the club is prepared to keep him but he simply won't play and will languish in the VFL if standards drop. Maybe him playing round 1 this year was the wrong choice considering the reasoning behind him not playing preseason.
  15. Lol I thought he was referring to Daniel Wells. Don't ask me why. Friday.
  16. Ox and Jako brought it week in, week out, and adapted to their opponent to find ways to better them. Putting Wells and Sylvia alongside them is just silly. How many flags did Robert Harvey win?
  17. This is coming from Roos though who came in to a damanged club. Eventually the players and clubs need to be made aware of their mistakes and faults, not just cuddled and nurtured until we win a flag. I keep hearing about the "culture" Roos has established but maybe our inability to put sides away and our frequency in losing to teams we should beat is due to the playing group being complacent and not worrying too much about their faults and mistakes. I can understand why Jack Watts and co. would have needed to be nurtured with positive reinforcement back in late 2013 but we're 4 years on now. This BS has to end. You don't win flags by saying, "Oh look Wattsy, we won't focus on your negative, let's focus on the positives like your elite kick...." meanwhile forgetting about training standards and leadership. It seems like we're still in the era of the Brad Green numpty cuddle. If things aren't going well, seek out a compliment....or just bend over on game day and lose by 186 points! Seriously, we seem to be the only club that always has a divide between playing and coaching groups. And it always seems to happen. At some stage these blokes need to get over themselves and step into the real world. Watts included.
  18. This seems like as big a test of character for Watts as he's faced. The club has essentially said he can stay so long as he commits to what is expected of him and raises standards. Or he can leave. To me, leaving shapes as being almost vindication of Melbourne's concerns. And I think we'll be better off if he leaves. If he stays, he has 2 seasons to save his AFL career.
  19. That kick out against Collingwood was just under 10s stuff. It slaughtered our momentum and seemed to kill off our chances. Had an okay season though. Still think his 2015 season was his best.
  20. It may be because Watts' comments came at a private function and not an official press conference, whereas Goodwin's comments were made while representing the club in an official capacity during an AFL branded show. Maybe.
  21. I actually think he's a smart player that can read the play well, but crumbles a bit under pressure and rushes his disposal. Maybe it's just me but there's something about him. Let's not forget that Jetta was similarly ineffective in his first few years. I think he's worth keeping around for a while longer. He's depth at best but imo he brings more than Kent.
