The Importance of Jordan Lewis
Just like buddy will. Key players are worth the pay. Has Lewis already payed his way, this year?
-
Zak Jones
I wonder if he is about the same value as Watts would be?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
I think thats why they did the deal, & the AFL wouldn't like it dragged into the courts once again, just as the drugs saga is being put to bed. it also allows us to focus on further improvements, if opportunity knocks. I'm very happy to have M Hibberd. ... now, i'm also disapponted we don't have any real national draft action to look forward to.

The list managers are all playing mind games, so the only ones who know whats going on is the list mangers individually, in their own thoughts. The media are just picking up the spilt scraps.. Purple is just one of the seagulls.

thats worth zilch. he can walk because of the drugs saga. And a safe working environment.

That makes sense, & likely Mahoney was aware of this... It probably helped us, as the Hawks would be desperate to rejig their midfield with young guns. Hence the cheap pick arrangement for Jordan.

I know, those browngold colours put the vision off colour, don't they.

Also it helps us spread the age group of our kids, so they will likely develop at differing stages. We don't want too many all under 22Yrs. See what happens with the Hawks when all their guns are over 30 during the same seasons. There comes a time when we need to spread our ages a bit.

isn't Dunn out of contract? so why would he eat our salary cap next year? Just give him a 'nudge', & whisper gently into his shell like. He'll notice.

well indirectly maybe. Thru greater firmness levels, stamina & gut running, he maybe able to find a way to make more space, use the space to aid his kicking, get to more contests, & gather more telling possessions. So this part will help his skills, being fitter & physically stronger. The other part of it is experience in games, composure, & practicing his disposal skills until he drops. Or gets dropped.

I don't think we would do that to him. I suspect they haven't had any offers he likes, so have made it easier all round for a team to take when they want to, as needs be. Even if rookied. So then he may be able to make some sort of deal with a club, if there is interest. Admitted I haven't tried to understand this free agency, much at all. Laws & rules offend me.

That the players accidentally switched off at half time break, as if they got tired, suggests distraction away from the cause, which can only happen earlier in the week. Unless they were just physically gone, which I don't believe, as we went so hard in the first half. The lack of stopping, shutting them down, & tempo footy, suggests they're minds drifted off. With the minds goes the intensity. So the build up thru the week has a big psychological bearing on the prep' for the game, the subconscious attitude leading in.

They probably helped him earn another spot, by making him more available & early on. He is affordable to others to take the chance.

I'll go for 6 senior changes. Delists & trades.? Rookies out, who knows?

I think they were just trying to give him a taste, to see where he was up to ?& how he coped. Hoping he may do an 'Oliver'. He wasn't ready. He needs to build his tank further & his tenacity, etc, as he doesn't possess major weapons. So his style will be built up, like Mitchells was with the Swans? IMO nibblers improvements will come from his work off the playing field, in the Gym & on the roads.

I was wondering yesterday after Plapps statement on the Mfc website thanking everyone during the week, IF Roosy told them, all who are going, before he finished his last week. I thought that Plapp statement, sounded to me like bad timing, Re the VFL Grand Final. The boys seemed to come out flat after half time, after banging in earlier. Were they distracted, and did they take their minds eye off the ball. dis appointed.

It would be great to see the Wiz back at the 'G' watching his boy lineup in Red'n'Blue.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY
We would just pay the fees for the kids education whilst on that list. as long as the kid is holding his part of the contract, it carries on till draft time. Each club would have 3 pre-draft picks from they're own academies, including any father/sons. All other academy kids, or father sons not in the [3], would be able for other clubs to bid on, for the draft.

Well that's wrong. We already have father sons, as well & academy's,. so the draft on its own doesn't work, because you get clubs 'list management' going on, to get a preferred player.

Your missing the point CB, the national draft still exists. But the first few top kids get to stay local. Its not like the old zone recruitment area, with no draft. I agree, it was lousy & unbalanced, but in today's schools environment, & the effort parents, teachers,, & clubs put into teaching kids its all very different. It just helps keep up to 3 top kids at home, per year, per club. This would also bring back the interstate clubs academy's back to the field, as they would also be restricted to just 3 free picks, before any bidding started for other academy kids.
