I've been surprised with that as well, Re ZSmith, thinking he was a flanker, and not having seen Casey for 2 years.

Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL
I agree Dkn167. Hopefully not a full tear. I also think Keilty could be handy as the intercept, but overlooking Frost may not go down well in team harmony. It will be an interesting next week to see which way things go. Maybe lever will be reborn? Could Harrison possibly get a gig?

Andrew Gaff
Gaff's good, but I think we can do better. Maybe Sloane this year on a heavy front ender, and Kelly in 2019, on a looong deal?

Dom Tyson
So, if Gaff enters the arena, its could be bye bye Ty ?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TIM SMITH
Its time they changed that 100 game law. ... to also include 5 consecutive seasons,,, or more than 6 seasons even if not consecutive,,, as the equal to 100 games. For those with chronic injuries, etc.

He has a synergy with the team alike TMc. it was these two running through our midfield and into the forwardline that did damage to oppo sides, last year... which dried up when Maxy returned early. Now we have TMc playing wing frequently, so he can run thru the very some areas having a heavy impact, on our behalf. I was calling for Lever to play up on wing, when he was battling,,, but that's all settled nicely now, and we have the size and bulk in the mid part of the ground taking marks, and adding run. And Maxy is playing More physically this season, then he did last. which also helps.

I think it shows at the moment that we need Pedo in 2019. TMc apparently has turf toe since last year, which took out Aaron Sandilands for big chunks of seasons. Sandilands has lost a lot of games over a few seasons with the injury... and Weide will not be a No1 ruck, come 2019. .... I think Pedo is a must keep, for 2019_ we've already seen how Pedo and Tmc can work in tandem, to get the job done. Bull, Trac and Hogan can all rotate positions as HF's and on-ball. Gut runners in Jones, ANB & Harmes. Both Brayshaw and Salem are interchangeable in the guts, or off half-back. A handy interchange with all running players, with a little tow. and some class. We lack a backup, genuine 1st ruck, atmo. So Pedo is our Mr capable.

Changes vs Bulldogs
If they play him back, it might help with confidence and development. Who knows from there, where he could end up. May flourish, may drop away. Ball is in his court.

Are you suggesting he may take Spargo's spot, when Spanky needs a rest? Did we take him to fill out our salary cap space?- NRL smashing AFL in TV ratings
... not as many players can cope with this new addition to our game, 2 way running and the lack of space, kills off a lot of creatively talented players, whom do not suit the rigid structures of the regimented "press". Many fall by the wayside, not finding the space to work their magic within, that they would have had back in say 2005. . .. .. .. .. .. .. .- NRL smashing AFL in TV ratings
No, i don't think it really is SFebey. I agree it appears that way, but the Press is rejecting more players from AFL, than there is, not being enough talent to go around. I think its more there isn't enough players who can play In the 'Press' style game. I believe the press is rejecting more potential AFL players, then John West's business model.
