Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Any backup for Gawn, has to be a powerful mark, around the ground, and packs. His backup, has to have lots of marking stats, this should be the primary stat, at an young age. The hitouts will come with strength, but the marking ability is there, or not there. Hitouts are overrated, unless they are in our players hands directly,,, and then the opposition will just hunt our Mids closely. We have to get the clearances, and we have to control the flow of the game, around the wings and flanks, with marking ability, and top kicking.

Changes v Port
He creates mismatches on the wing, and as he drifts forward. # Playing TMc from the Wing, this week, means he can drift back, to chop out little brother, on big Dixon. I'd bring in Petty this week, who apparently is tall and a good reader of the play, to play back with OMc. And TMc from the Wing, playing an overseeing role, for those two. Keep Pedo in, with Hogan. With Pedo helping Maxy in the ruck. Give Pedo more minutes on-ball, with Maxy stretching Ports defenders more often. Rotate Maxy more frequently. Garlett may be handy, in that scenario, when Maxy is forward. Garlett and Petracca roving deep forward to Maxy.

Four Field Umpires
Four Field Umpires exactly ! ... why gill why ? WTF. Much better off with 2 Field umpires, running the corridor; and have 4 boundary riders, assisting the other umpires...

He's just 'takin the P' rance'. It's covered 'mnocla'. nothing to see here... see no evil, speak no evil. How do you know the kid doesn't like it? nothing to see here, and nothing to speak of. scouts honor. ? play de devil's advocate.

He wouldn't want to be as expensive, as the figures being bandied about.

Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
We don't need one quick player in our team. We need to install 2 or 3 quick players, over our journey building this team. And its not 'outside run' that we need..... we need breakaway pace, inside/outside, in defence, around the middle, and forward Re smalls. Not your Garlett type pace forward, but more your DeGoey type pace forward. or midfield.

Andrew Gaff
This is what we all want and are saying, but there are many different ways, of getting there. The break away speed players who can run, and nail targets on the run, are what we lack.

Changes v Port
Frost played forward last game for Casey. And surprisingly spotted up a 45` target, inside the 50 arc, with PREcision. I was shocked. But I reckon they are trying him out as a forward now, to workout the list management decisions for later in the year. I was also thinking about him trying to take over Pedo's place as backup forward and follower. He certainly has the pace to do a great job,,, 'IF', he can start taking power marks around the ground.

Changes v Port
Tyson's not the future for us. We need leg speed around the middle. He's in the 2's for a reason, to give him and the AFL world, a message. Gun for hire! will travel.

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
nup, its the players... doing this. They are, on paper, a real chance... but they're not a team; together. Something is very wrong, they're unhappy at that place. they are not focused at all, and really haven't been fully focused since the start of the last finals series. So this means, players will be for the picking, come trade time.

We haven't seen Billy Stretch's worth, yet. but he's building, pf.

August will show the story. The big teams will show their hands.

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
I think they need him to go. It will help them get ahead in the long run. They will get more picks starting again, and probably with more mature players, to help guide them. Lynch's worth can help in this way. they'll get a couple of early picks and also some oldies. As I said last year, I called for Hodge to go to the Suns, to help. And then he went to the Lions, because of Fagan.

It's all in they're heads, something is very wrong at that club. something like an off fish.

Watts Dropped from Port
The important thing is the first 3 or 4 months, when impressions are made in the kids heads. First impressions are every hard to alter. Attitudes sprout from those. We had far too many kids having too much of a frolicking good time at the club. At the time when that bloody tail was swinging wildly. Big heads prevailing, in the smallest of ponds.

Andrew Gaff
hah, I am glad to hear that ! I can understand carltoon and gaff. The game is about to reduce rotations,,, and space will open up, so gut-run, and 'speed',,, will both be in demand. We have some gut-run, but barely any speed. We need much more of it, in & around the middle, and half back. Dion Johnston is a keeper, at this time. IF he can learn to develop at the defensive end; he might have a future there, but also, if he can find his mojo down back; he may yet find he can play around the middle.?

New CEO - Gary Pert
This happens at Melbourne board level too often in our past. We had too many thinkers, that think they know how to,,, and jump on Board, only to leave us floundering in the mudheap, having gone no-where. This club needs people of real courage and vision; for our future... Not on-field, but our off-field future; to grow this clubs base.

that's good. (that was a quip referring to the pies, or crows, not to the doubters) You know I would swap Angus and Neale from Freo, IF we could make that workout. and still take Sloane as well.

Round 13 Non - MFC Games
I agree. I wanted us to go after him, in both 2016 and 2017. I think some SA clubs sounded him out last season, and he is apparently,,, happy in WA.

Lachie Neale is better than Gaff. And suits us better, than Gaff.
