  1. Why do you say that PF. But, There is one similarity between the 2. Both were/are trimming the list, and building it to be better in the future. Both trying the players, literally. In both senses. Watt better way to sort wheat from chaff. Who says the Footy Dept' are on the same page as you PF,,, Re our teams position and readiness for the Big Dance??????? IMO we are not, and are still a little way off Re the List. bathwater in plastic bottles should be banned around Mfc. We can play very well, when let do it by other teams. When not, we still can't. Front-Runner is still in our DNA, at this point. BUT we're getting better every season, as witnessed by the ladder differences in the past 3 years. Mark my words, Jaded. Mfc WILL play in September, in 2018 AFL premiership season finals .
  2. he needs a sniff of space to work with... and oppos' defenders under pump, opportunist.
  3. >>> check the marks column... https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/live_stats?mid=9637&sby=3
  4. You have to look, to see. Lever's loss in a big one, and we are a young list. Apart from the 4 oldest players. We do need more maturity, and around the middle. Sloane. Gaff would help but more-so outside. Viney is tagged and is down. We do need another tough quality in/under player, but one who has some pace and some smarts. After this, we need to focus on our centreline. To get that right. Hunt 's season has been a big loss, Re form, etc. We can win this game, so need to get on with it.
  5. We lack footy geniuses. We get plenty of ball, but we have to get smart with the way we enter the F50.
  6. Talking of Saints, what about Longer as backup ruck? 50/50 trade?
  7. Don't know what you mean about the game, because we can run at any point on the compass on 2 dimensions, and we can jump as well to take the ball so there's 3. Jeffy just doesn't have the extra's, of real tackling, and real pressure to bulldog players down, inside F/half. Either he doesn't have those things or he doesn't wNt to. Either way, he's a liability when he's not getting the ball. He also goes hot and cold. Goes missing for games at a time. So the consistency of value to the team is down. Somehow I can imagine him in a saints jumper?
  8. Its both, but it shouldn't be to experiment to lose... Or about pulling AFL players out to shorter the season for them and others. But a kick I saw Frost spear inside 50 to player in advantage in tight confine made me wonder IF. He also took some strong grabs when mobile through the middle ground. So Is worth a try as a follower.
  9. Tyson, similar to or more than watts. Kent 3rd Rndr? Garlett 3rd Rndr?
  10. He may get a cameo game here or there, but I am doubtful he'll be a regular again. especially with the flooded forward-lines. He would be handy if the flood was reduced and more space opened up. But he is still one dimensional.
  11. Jeffy, Kent, Vince, Tyson, there has to be over $1.5M per year, amongst them?
  12. They were quick in straight lines, when they broke clear. because the Frost ruck experiment didn't work when he was a few years younger,,, doesn't mean that it wouldn't now he is a couple of years older, and a bit wiser ? Still worth a try i think, as his play has been more assertive, and he has shown a few little things here or there, in the past month. Might be worth revisiting the ruck thing.
  13. apparently, He wants to be a Millionaire? who's in the 'Millionaire hot Seat' ?
  14. Not only hope I'm certain he will have great little footy kids. He has to get the 100 in RednBlue. I think he'll freshen up well, and If he plays like today he'll be handy in September. He looked fresher, younger the way he moved.
  15. I liked his run and dash from half back. Not just his footskills Elegt, I think his ball skills generally need tidying up, at brief look today.
  16. Spot-on 'mnclr', it was a disgrace last week. Melky was ripped off throughout the game. I wonder if TSmith could do with more fitness. Might be good to see him working more with Daniel Cross ? Dion Johnstone. I wonder if Jeffy has been having any effect on Dion's development, over the past 10 months or so? It seems ever since Jeffy won our trust this time last year;,,, and our written accolades, he has gone downhill. And I'm wondering IF Dion has followed him in that same time-frame, effecting his footy?
  17. ... sort of what i'm hoping for. We have to make spaces for renewal. We have to find ways to get back in, and we need to release some salary cap space, so we can work things. This comment isn't about jeffy specifically, but about a few players Inc: Jeffy, Kent, Wagner, Frost, Vince, Lewis, Tyson, JK-H, Hunt, McKenna,
  18. Sadly that is all in the perception of the player... f.e.a.r_ is a thing not to obey. ... it's THE thing to conquer. to beat and to surpass.
  19. ... but it is a good way to advertise your wares, that are potentially up for grabs. blzb ... yes no doubt, would have got a few, and so would have whatshisface, as well. But we build for the future continually, to get better, stronger, and we can never take the foot off that accelerator. Stopping for DoNoughts along the road, only wastes our efforts and energy, and wastes our time.
  20. thanks KC. that's a bit easier to distinguish.
  21. energy and agility I would say 'W', with intensity. Quick stepping players we need, and also top speed players as well
  22. Players are hired to give their all;,,, all the time... and to add to the club when they are in any sort of position, in the team, or out of the team. The sulky types like whatshisface have no place bringing the house down, for their own satisfactions. Any that immature and self centred, had better just close the door behind them, after passing through it.
  23. Even if he did change now, I think he's pretty much going to be passed by both Spargo now, and soon Baker. And IF DJ finds his mojo down back, I would not be surprised to see him also hop in front of Jeffy.
  24. Pretty much, i think W4tA. Viney has stipulated only recruit those with a hard competitors nature.. It is paying off, as to where we are at now. They are building a brand new culture that we takes us forward for the next 10-15 years, with the path they are on. jeffry either has a dip or he doesn't. pretty simple. I think he's gone. we will take what we can?
  25. IMO, Its not about the people that are following, so much blzb. But about attracting others who aren't,,, by opening the club up to all. Particularly the public transport users of the East and Sth East. Purely as the starting point. And IMO, we want as many patrons flocking from games to the new HQ's after games, to celebrate, and to spend. And then after, all they have to do after is step outside;,, and they are either at the tram stop or the train station... if the Richmond Station is the option. Jolimont will NOT do this for the masses.
