I just looked thru our list for a whipping boy. We don't have ANY anymore. No list cloggers. All footballers. No athletes really so much, anymore. thankfully, we have finally arrived to this point, where all we have down the bottom, are players who are trying to adjust their bodies to withstand the rigors of AFL footy. So these down there, are talented but with issues to overcome, if they can. These are players we rolled the dice on. . So with this, lets cut back on the whipping of the underdogs, and save it up, IF any of the others don't show the courage, or the commitment we should expect, from Demon players. Hopefully we won't need to bring out the boots to kick anyone. We are all past most of that pain, of the last 13 years. Now is the time to put that energy into booing the Opposition, the Umps when required, & into screaming out for the D's to go hard.

Weide will be a great player for us. He just needs time to grow into his frame, as most big men do. Be patient, he will excite. Not every player comes on like a Judd or Daniel Talia, not even Hodge or Mitchell did. But I would have either of those 2, over Judd. The fact they've been IN demand at the end of their careers, says a lot really. about Culture/Leadership.

He's has an operation on his ankle, so has not long started back into Pre-Season work? He will be at Casey for a while, but by mid-season, It's then time to start with some expectations of this young man. Not before mid season as he works his new body onto some sort of form. He is just at the start of filling out his frame, so give him some time. Latter half of the year, we should be expecting him to take some control at VFL level. Also, I'm hopeful of Keilty to start some good form by mid season the new breed of young fellas. The thing I would really like to see/hear, is young King. I'd like to hear of him taking some strides along in the VFL, this year.

Petracca wants to start in the guts.
I don't mind that, if we go small up front. If Petracca was in a Giles mold, then we could fit ANB on the f/flank. Hogan rotating, R/R & CHF with Petracca.

Retro gear
Hey Cassiew. If THEY want to make a retro jumper for fans to buy and wear. Why not something along these lines. Maybe some 'slight' adjustment, to the colours, but only slight. So a lace up Jumper to wear to warm games,,, and also in a Vest form to wear over other clothing and under that plaid jacket. Reversible clothing, dress down on one side, & dress up a little on the other side with pull up collar.

160th Anniversary Jumper
The old jumpers around 60's, were very dark blue, in photos.

160th Anniversary Jumper
collingwood? just reverse their colours. Lets just not do the clash jumper thing.

160th Anniversary Jumper
If we have to have a clash jumper it should be something alike this one. PS: the 'iSelect' banner is clashing with GWS jumper.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
What, do you think we'd get a better player at Pick 16 next year, compared to what we would get at Pick 10 this 2017 draft? I don't think so.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I reckon that the Power will be the next SA premier team. Sometime in the next 15 Years. I just cannot see the Crows calling anything much at all in the next little while, after their pizzy little tanties. They need a dose of instant concrete, to settle that nerve condition they have over there. I have a vision of 'the tail', wagging away all on its own.

Peanuts hey. No wonder they lost the Grand Final, they must be all monkeys. They say, you get what you pay for.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Yes, at the Blues. He can then be the chocolate atop the froth & bubbles, on they're cappuccino's.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I wouldn't trade any of our young guns for anything. keep them all together. They are the nucleus of our new club. Brothers in arms. The older less committed brigade, need be shown the back door. asap.

Oliver would be worth a 1st & 2nd Rnd pick now. Petracca so far with one knee already Op'd on, would be currently worth what we gave up for him. Hogan is worth more than what we gave up for him, as he has already demonstrated his fitness from the back, & has kicked bags of goals, and is still very young. His pedigree is a proven commodity, over a few seasons now. Lever might get to that, but he is a floating tall defender. He is not worth 2 x 1st Rnd picks, at this point with his career.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I think Hogan would be worth two early 1st Rnd picks, as he has shown just the other year, how dominant he can be, as he grows his body & confidence. He has the ability to dominate defenders like Rance & Lever or any you want to throw up as opponents. He has just had the season of hellish proportions, & next year if he stays will be his best in a Melbourne side cherry ripe to go into finals action. I rate Hogan as extremely valuable & will be the equivalence of Danger, Hodge, or any of the AFL's superstars in recent time. Its still early days on Lever & he's a defender. Now if he turns into a swingman, then that's different, if he can become Harry Taylor type. early days.

They possibly would, but not certainly, as they don't have any other good tall forwards that I know of. The point I'm making is your overvaluing Gibbs. And comparing Lever to Rance, who is a number of years into an elite footy career. So Rance is an established elite player. Lever is just a spring chicken in terms of playing that top level, on a consistent year on year basis. Its not about so much about Gibbs perceived trade value, as we don't want to trade with Carlton if don't have to. But my reasoning is more about this willingness to give away more than we should have to to bring a player into the club. Sometimes I think we can talk ourselves into bidding, against our own bids. We have to learn to play hard ball, if we are to learn to fight it out against the tougher clubs. They are no push over because they value they're own club interests, ahead of other clubs. We have to play with the same set of rules.

That may well be but I don't think others hold a player going on 29 before the bounce of 2018 as high as you seem to. He's probably got 3 good years, in him. Is he on your books? Take Riewoldt out of the tigers forwardline & they will falter to score. Take Rance out, and the opposition will score more, but Richmond will still be able to score well. The Tiger defenders would have to work harder & smarter. And they would probably have more pace & run. But they wouldn't be as good. I think Riewoldt's more recent seasons have him undervalued, because of his poorer early years & temperament.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Yeah Riewoldt every time. Now rance v tex walker?
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Why do you value Gibbs so high? He is 28.5Yrs already, with shot legs. He's not that valuable. Early 2nd Rnd pick, if it's in 2018. I think he's in the range of 15 - 20, in 2017 draft picks.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Yep, Lever for our 2018 1st Pick, & 2017 2nd Pick. That should do it. No more.
-
Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
No, an intercept Tall Defender is no way as valuable or as rare, as a Key Tall Forward. Not on the same page.

Adelaide good. The further the west he goes, the better I think. As far from us as possible.
