WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
MadAsHell replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Garland & Pick 27 to Gold Coast Pick 22 to Essendon Hibberd to Melbourne With Gold Coasts departures they'll be a bit lighter on in the midfield and may want to move Kolodjashnij in there. That would then free up the 3rd tall defender slot who can also play small when needed. Garland fots this build, and for an experienced player who's been in another clubs leadership group, Gold Coast may be willing to fall 5 spots in the 2nd round given the amount of picks they have? -
Yep, according to inside football Salem made his 6th VFL game last week. http://www.aflplayerratings.com.au/Ratings/Player/117861/Christian-SALEM Rounds 9 & 18-22.
-
Clearly pickett does have good insight into list management however. Unlike Wiseblood, Mahoney, Goodwin, Taylor & Todd Viney. When can we get those hacks out and Pickett in????
-
Wasn't there a thread on him last year and then he signed a contract extension?
-
Still don't think West Coast can win it, and it raises questions about Adelaide.
-
He's feeling pretty down from reports. Feel for him.
-
Thanks KC. I thought Salem had played the 6 required VFL games and as of this weekend so will Oliver?
-
Notice how Pickett hasn't responded to the need to have a solid 30-35 core players. I think Pickett expects 22 delistings from one year to the next.
-
As others have mentioned, a part time sprint coach should be the go here. Trenners should even be able tio use connections through his sister to find someone appropriate. That and penetration in his kicking. His footy smarts, toughnes, disposal and marking ability are all still there.

And that boys and girls is what they call a troll.....
-
On another note, and KC please correct me if I'm wrong but it looks to me as though we'll have up to 20 players available for VFL finals that meet the criteria being the following: Christian Salem, Jack Trengove, Clayton Oliver, Lynden Dunn, Ben Newton, Colin Garland, Cam Pedersen, Viv Michie, JKH, Sam Weideman, Liam Hulett, ANB, Jack Grimes, Jake Spencer, Ben Kennedy, Mitch White, Joel Smith, Matt Jones, Dean Terlich, Max King Could have a 22 looking like: Bold = Casey player FB: Garland, Dunn, White HB: J. Smith, Hutchins, Michie C: M. Jones, ANB, Grimes HF: Terlich, Hulett, Newton FF: Pedersen, Weideman, JKH FOLL: Spencer, Oliver, Kennedy INT: Keilty, Munro, Salem, Trengove With Max King in the D - League & someone like Tim Smith a Casey main stay unable to crack the 22. VFL premiership should be the goal if these players are in fact going to be available.

Dawes has an issue with an achilles. Tried to train yesterday and could barely run.
-
GC17 saying they're after players & not picks for O'Meara and they want a player of the same ilk. Salem & Garland for O'Meara & a late pick coming back. Yes? No? Not enough?

What's this about Chris Heffernan? -
Think he could be a bit of a utility. HBF/HFF/Wing/Mid; wherever he's needed from one week to the next. Same could occur for Hunt also actually given he's shown his ability to play forward with Casey last year.
-
If we were to make a play for Jaegar, i suspect the best we could offer would be something along the lines of 2017 1st Round pick with Trengove & Garland for Jaegar & a 4th Round Pick. I suspect they'll get better offers.
-
That's not entirely true. My wife's a St Kilda supporter, so I remember the Ball departure pretty well. Collingwood offered their 2nd round pick (25 from memory) and choice of either Nathan Brown (Saints lacked key tall defenders) or Sharrod Wellingham (Saints lacked run). St Kilda played hard ball and lost. No sympathy for them.
-
Unless said experienced player is also capable of helping out in the ruck i'm not interested. That's why i have some interest in Petrie, but none in Schulz.
-
It's just the AFL making things up on the run again.
-
Already a thread and poll on the trading board.
-
Brisbane at this stage. But once trade period & draft are done then you take another look. Didn't want to over-commit and say they'll be last this early.
-
Even us this year is a decent example. The young players eg Frost & O Mc have forced Dunn & Garland to only manage 11 games between them. Young players show enough, they'll get in anyway. I understand them making the calls on Petrie & Firrito. Probably should have done the same to Waite seeing as they have Wood, Brown & a combination of Goldstein/Daw they can play forward. But I'm a little surprised by Dal Santo and shocked by Harvey!

Grimes and Trengove future rests with Goodwin
MadAsHell replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not convinced either will. Pedersen has barely been sighted since Dawes made his initial return and only came back for a few games late because of injuries to Hogan and weed. Despite playing well he now finds himself out of the team. Goodwin is all about ball movement and transition and Matt Jones for all his endeavors is the biggest momentum killer in the team when it comes to that. Hasn't been sighted since the Gold Coast game despite big numbers. Can see Pedersen being rookie listed. Think Matt Jones may be in trouble. -
So North will offer Pick 11 this year and what will likely be Pick 2 next year??
-
Agreed. Decent player, but for me the cost that Richmond will want wont be justified.
