Casey trail 4.10.34 to Willy 5.6.36 at half time Goals Dunn Hughes Maric Valenti Some apalling kicking for goal. Maric kicked into the man on the mark from 15 metres out and Williamstown ran the ball down the ground for a mark and goal to Little. Matthews missed an easy shot just before the siren. Should be in front. I have a theory about Shane Valenti that he improves as a game goes on. Im that case, Casey will win.

Goals to Valenti and Maric give Casey a 1 point lead.

Northern Bullants vs. Casey Scorpions

At three quarter time, it's a close one but what a shocker of a quarter that was. Play was very scrappy and one of the few highlights was Shane Valenti's effort in intercepting a pass to a Bullant player, taking the mark and passing up forward where Juice kicked the team's only goal for the quarter. Casey Scorpions 8.7.55 to Bullants 8.4.52 -

Casey 7.6.48 to 6.2.38 at half time in what is developing into a scrappy affair. Skipper Kyle Matthews has 3 goals. Just before half time Rohan Bail was king hit behind the play and he came off very groggy. After the incident Paul Wheatley was remonstrating with Bullant # 68. No appearance from Jake Spencer who copped a heavy knock last week. -
Northern Bullants vs. Casey Scorpions
KC from Casey replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
After a slow start, Casey Scorpions, fired by the spectacular Liam Jurrah lead 6.3.39 to 3.1.19. Two goals each to Jurrah and Kyle Matthews. Shane Valenti, Jamie Bennell and Neville Jetta are all doing well. Paul Wheatley's goal was his standard from a long way out. -

He needs to play against the best possible opposition to maximise his potential. It also looks like they've decided to rest Brad Miller who played last week and presumably would have been eligible to play again this week. Probably suggests he'll be back at Melbourne next Friday night. He would have been handy for the Scorps but I suppose it's understandable as he would have had a six day break before the Bombers' game. -

There's still a fair way to go but the VFL has announced that the Collingwood v Casey Round 14 fixture has also been changed. The Collingwood vs. Casey Scorpions match has been scheduled to be played at Trevor Barker Beach Oval, Sandringham at 1:10 PM (ABC TV) on Saturday 18th July. The venue had not been previously determined but it's almost like a home game for Casey . -

The Bullants are affiliated with Carlton and have 2 home grounds, Visy Park and Cramer Street, Preston. Neither is available on Sunday. -
The Northern Bullants vs. Casey Scorpions Senior & Reserves matches for Round 10 have been rescheduled to Saturday 13th June. The Senior game will remain at 2:00 PM and the Reserves at 11:10 AM and the venue remains Visy Park. The reason for the change is the Carlton Football Club has organised capital works to be carried out at Visy Park on the Sunday 14th and therefore no electricity available.

Casey Scorpions v Werribee Tigers - colours & squads
KC from Casey replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The Scorpions got better as the game went on and finally overran Werribee to win by 60 points. Miller took the game over in the second half with his strong marking. His kicking for goal was his weak spot with 3 goals 4 behinds. The Dees would be very happy with the form of Jordie McKemnzie and Liam Jurrah. Good play by Dunn and goals to Jurrah, Jetta and Miller give a lead in excess of 5 goals. 17 year old Mitchell Dowse from the Gippsland Falcons is very impressive as 23rd man under the special rule that gives TAC Cup players a chance to play VFL games. -

Continual wasteful play by Casey is proving costly. Very much like the Box Hill game a few weeks ago. -

And don't they all look delicious in that pink? -
Thanks for pointing this out Fan. My post about Jack was made during the first quarter and, in the end, Jack finished with 21 or 22 touches for the day and in the top half dozen at Casey for disposals. Clint Bartram, whose game many have also described as "quiet", was just behind him. Watts finished up playing a servicable game and is not that far off getting a game at AFL level. He's perhaps a month away.

A third to Robbo and the Scorps push themselves back into finals contention with a good win over the Cats. A late goal to Jurrah, his third and its Casey 16.15.111 to 11.9.75 at full time. Late in the game Robbo showed that he might have learned his less by committing the selfless act of passing while within range of goal. All of Casey's goals were kicked by Melbourne players who were pretty dominant up forward. The Scorpions were well served by James Wall (ruck and defence) and tall backman Peter Faulks. Cheney wins man of the match from me but here are the official club stats - Casey Scorpions 3.6.24 7.9.51 11.12.78 16.15.111 Geelong 1.1.7 4.4.28 7.7.49 11.9.75 Goals Casey Scorpions Hughes, Jurrah, Newton, Robertson 3, Petterd 2, Dunn, Valenti Geelong Podsiadly 4 Johnson 2 Allwright Hunt McKenna West Westwood Best Casey Scorpions Valenti Wall Cheney Dunn Watts Faulks Geelong Hogan Hunt Laidler Podsiadly West Allwright Next week's game is on Saturday and is being televised by ABC1. Report some time tomorrow.

A Petterd goal and finally Robbo kicks his second.

Jurrah just took a great grab, followed by a terrible kick. Followed it up with another mark and his second goal. Scorps lead by 23 points.
