  1. Surely you can't really think fans accepting things being bad has much effect on what actually happens within an AFL club (other than income). These days we are merely spectators watching a business run.
  2. That might make sense if a team is pushing for a flag or a win to get into the top 4 or 8. But I'm not sure such a rigid view is appropriate for a team trying to develop both players and its game.
  3. Unbelievable that anyone can be so certain how many were 'avoidable'. Stuff happens. It just hurts more when you have no depth.
  4. Funnily enough I do think I have formed an opinion. The opinion I expressed is that I think Roos knows more than we do. Sorry to have wasted your time expressing it.
  5. Of course he sees what we see. But it is just possible that Roos, close to the player, a top-notch coach and not a mere spectator/keyboard warrior, see something more. So I'll rely on his judgement. When Roos throws in the towel on him so will I.
  6. How did Franklin get off for terrible acting? I couldn't knock that man over if I was driving a bulldozer, but Georgiou took him out with a mere touch.
  7. No, there are many, but that's not one of them.
  8. First sentence may be true, but the second? Of all the criticisms of Watts, that is silly. He dropped a chest mark the other week, but this week he took a contested one-handed one (and dropped an overhead one which probably shot his already fragile confidence). I saw Hawks players drop chest marks on the weekend while demolishing their opponents. That is not Watts' problem.
  9. What's wrong with this Roos bloke? Doesn't he read Demonland?
  10. The 'no reasonable opportunity' idea is a good one. I'm sick of players pretending to knock it out when being sat on by 5 other players. Usually they are banging the ball into their own chests but with enough squirming about they ump says they 'tried'. (Though I think we are unique in having a decision against us on Sat for knocking the ball into our chest - not sure who the player was.)
  11. I don't get it when people say he is lazy. You don't go through all that training and mindless gym work if you are lazy. Doesn't he 'train the house down' more or less like everyone else? There must be more to it. I suspect lack of confidence is a big factor.
  12. Sad, but understandable in a 12 year old. But there seems to be a lot of 12 year olds posting here who don't see any improvement.
  13. You really think we are worse than other clubs in this? Why would you watch the 'media' if all they did was publish what you could read on each club's website? If we were in top form like Hawthorn or Geelong, or even a mid-ranking club, all these endless grizzles about how badly the club treats its members and how bad our medical department is etc etc would evaporate.
  14. Pity. <irony> Obvious those secretive buffoons on the medical staff are spinning him a line to cover their incompetence. </irony>
  15. I'd wait until he's been under Roos for a good part of a season before saying any of that.

  17. Absolutely. I'm not interested if the player needs a shave. Why oh why do they do it?
  18. I'm impressed with such expertise. Where did you do your medical degree? Hindsight is wonderful. Have a look at post #67 before you single out our team's staff - Freo's staff also hopeless? Why are so many of us so keen to blame the club for everything that goes wrong. Maybe your first thought is right instead - bad luck is bad luck.
  19. I don't usually 'demand' that the club reveals all details around injuries, but rather than rely on guesswork from Demonland posters, I'd really appreciate it if the club could say 'this has contributed to his lack of speed over the last x months' or that it has nothing to do with it. Of course if would have to be diplomatically worded because I can't see the club bluntly calling Jack slow.
  20. Not that much. He only got a game with us because of the hope he'd finally do something regularly to match his occasional burst. If he didn't have that potential he would have been dropped to make way for some lesser lights who consistently contributed more to the team or just needed some experience.
  21. Just caught it on the news, not sure who the commentator was, but says about Ablett kicking a goal: "He only needs a little snifter". Do they encourage drinking during the game at GCS?
  22. Totally agree. I've been moaning about this for a long time Pay frees against players tackling packs and things will open up and we won't be watching as much rugby-liek games.
  23. Just read through this thread. Steady on boys. It was only Carlton. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
  24. For once I reckon Carlton will cop more than we might. We are a knwn basket case. They 'should' be playing finals.
  25. that also makes a lot of sense. Am I on Demonland?
