If it's got AFL backing, if [censored] hits the fan, at least we know they'd help us out. No we aren't a 'big club' nor will we ever be, but with a membership nearing 44,000 and heaps of development left in us, becoming a bigger club financially has to be a non-negotiable. Pert has shown in previous roles he is up to the challenge and isn't daunted by taking on a 'big task'. Has my approval until he [censored] up. Which hopefully won't occur.

So long as all 3 stay on, then we'll continue to have a strong off-field team in place.

........................or desks.................................or loans from the club.

We won't know if this will be a successful appointment for a few years yet, however, i much prefer a CEO with AFL experience as opposed to the likes of Paul McNamee/Tracy Gaudry coming from other sporting fields. Approved by the AFL (which is still unfortunately a necessary tick), approved by the board and the stand-out candidate in a field of 5, of which PJ would have had the biggest say. Comfortable with this decision, and what's more, it keeps Mahoney firing in his current role as Footy GM (another big tick).
  5. It's looking pretty nice at his current club too Rock.
  6. Is a wonderful representation of how good us smaller folk can be (You 6Ft+ giants have had it good for far too long)
  7. North are desperate to catch anything. They have been fishing for so long, they don't care if they reel in seaweed.
  8. No that thing was a Tigers fan.
  9. He's trying to increase the $$ in his next contract. Understandable, given his asking price would be pretty low at the moment.
  10. He came on board in January 2013, so i guess it would've been the 2013 draft.
  11. let's worry about our own signings before we got out and try and lure outside talent.
  12. that should be sehr gut bub
  13. You can be consistently out of form though........can't you?
  14. Frost is making him look like a [censored] superstar
  15. He's still eligible for the Brownlow right?
  16. Well there is a position there for him if he wants it. Thought Hogan was half decent when he went into the middle, he just creates such a huge hole in the forward line when it happens though. TMAC out for a while, time for Sam to step up, even if he is carrying a little niggle. Be the dictator, not the dictated.
  17. Careful deeko, too much logic in those sentiments.
  18. Only been on the list for 2 years olisik. He was drafted with Clarry. Throw in that he was MIA in his draft year due to injury and it doesn't surprise me that he is behind Curnow in terms of development at the moment. Curnow has a much more athletic build, Weids still needs to drop some more puppy fat and build up his muscle/strength along with his tank. They can't all be Hogan/Hawkins types where they come in and dominate from day dot. As pointed out earlier, Curnow's best return up until tonight was 2 goals. Weids achieved this in his very first outing. He is tracking fine. As the Viney experiment has shown, it's much better to bring him in when he and his body are ready for the rigours of AFL.
  19. you are correct CBD, no rookie spots left. We have 4 vacancies which will be filled come draft day (picks 29,31,36 & 47)
  20. It's an artsy little town with a few galleries, most of the full-time residents are farmers of some sort. Sleepy during the week, but gameday at John Terrill Park always attracts a crowd. Like most small country towns, the football and netball form a significant, if not the most significant part of the fabric of the town (this is especially true with footy at Fish Creek). Everyone knows everyone and it's one-in all-in. If you are a member of the FCFNC you are literally a part-owner of the club. No matter where Fish Creek plays, it always has a strong following from the supporters (even as far as Philip Island to the west and DWWWW to the east). There are a few famous family names at Fishy. The McGannon's, Park's, Stefani's and Buckland's have been playing with the club for generations.
  21. Seen him play a few times. He's a Fish Creek native. Now the Alberton Football League isn't exactly the cream of the crop, but they hit hard and are true country footy players'. He's a tough kid and isn't afraid to put his body over the ball, played in the seniors as a 16 year old. Not fast no, but he seems to have lots of time when he's got the ball. I'd be happy to draft him if he is still there at pick 47, we'd get quite a few new members signing up too, as the McGannon family is a big one and the whole town of Fishy would get behind him.
  22. And Lever......................................oh wait
  23. Andrew will be gone before their first pick me guesses.
  24. our history overcoming foot injuries is not great reading. First Clark, then Trengove. It's something that our clubs seems to be unable to get right.
