Lever is a good kick!

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Darling can be good at times and poor at times...........................so a Jack Darling either way.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
He'd probably be automatic first 5. Gawn, Hogan, Petracca, Oliver, Lever

That pass to Melksham just before 3QT from the centre was a thing of beauty

Time to show Oscar some respect!
Oscar still needs to come to terms with the speed of the game at AFL level. He is a little too slow at times, which causes him to panic and rush some things (like a couple of those kicks early in the game). He's still very raw and young (in terms of a KPP), so these things mistakes will happen (Weitering is no saint and he was #1 pick). Like the rest of the team, he played much better in the second half. A good step forward and hopefully it does his confidence the world of good.

The Importance of Jordan Lewis
Give him a spell in the 2nd's. Dent his pride so he comes back breathing fire.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
We're gonna need to offer more than $500k per year to get him out of Adelaide. With the new CBA and salary cap increase, he'd be looking at $700k+ a year.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
At the very least. Would be willing and happy to give up our 1st and 2nd round picks for him.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Apart from Rory Thompson, Jordan Roughead and Jake Carlisle, there are no 200cm defenders. Talia is 197cm, Hurley is 193cm, Hooker is 197cm, Taylor is 195cm, Henderson is 196cm, Day is 197cm, May is 193cm, Davis is 197cm, Rance is 194cm, McGovern is 195cm. Of those i'd say that Talia, Hurley, May and McGovern play the more traditional role of FB (average height = 194.5cm) Carlisle isn't setting the world on fire, Roughead is perpetually injured and Thompson has also struggled to get on the park recently. It seems that anywhere between 193-197cm is a good height for a fullback and Lever is right in the middle at 195cm.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Don't doubt you Wise, but what can the Hawks give? May is not a Free Agent, and they gave up their first rounder for this year in last year's trade period. That only leaves them with next year's first rounder. Sure they still have some decent players' but last year showed that none of these players' want to leave.

Hibberd T.McDonald Hunt Jetta May Frost A back-line like above has a lot of pace, flexibility and hardness. The positive thing is that we have 5/6 positions filled already. May might not be the player we are targeting, but it is clear that we lack another quality KPD.

May is a much better backman than OMAC. That is reason enough to try and bring him (or any KPD for that matter) into the team, so we can improve as a team. There are still way too many question marks about OMAC to consider him a part of our best 22. May would definitely be included in our best 22.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
He's tough, doesn't panic, prefers to kick it out of defense, a good disposer of the ball, attacks the ball and wants the ball. Fast becoming the general of our back line (if he hasn't already).

Wouldn't mind having him in our back line. TMAC is not a forward, he should only be used as one as relief or last resort only. Plus it gives time for the likes of Frost and OMAC to further develop their game back at Casey. We need to try and bring in one of May, Thompson (pipe dream) or Lever. It would help settle our back line down. Leslie played alright for them too, so maybe another possibility?

OMAC us simply not good enough for AFL level football yet. I don't like that we are gifting him games. He isn't the only one though. It's about time the team selectors start giving games to those who earn them. Look at Harmes, he went back to the 2's and had to force his way back into the team. He was a major contributor in turning the tide in the third quarter. Weideman is not ready for AFL footy and was sent back to Casey, OMAC should be right there with him.

The thing that worries me most about OMAC is he lack of hunger and intensity. He is so lackadaisical and reminds me of Garland's on field persona.

Go after a KPD this year, then try and bring in Peter Wright next year. He'd help relieve Max in the ruck, and is more than a handful up forward.

Agree LT, looking at this draft, there aren't too many that pop out as being 'great' players. Go after May or Lever and get a short-medium fix for our backline.

Clarence Oliver
We need to plan every game we now play as if Clarry is going to get a tag. If he doesn't then great. But we need to be prepared for it nonetheless, as his form this year and our subsequent midfield rise is not a coincidence. If he gets a tag, take him forward maybe? Constantly swap him and Petracca between Mid and Half Forward?

Clarence Oliver
He didn't steal Eddie's pocket................... He wanted it, so he made it his.

I'm just so glad that the recruiting team didn't go the safe option in Parish (who is also a good player). Clarry is something else, though.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
KB's a washed up old hack.

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Ok, i'll bite. At pick #9, who do you think we should have drafted instead of Weideman?

I think Clarry can be a little too prone to handball at times. Sure when teammates are put in to the clear by them they look fantastic, but at other times, he would be better off keeping the ball to himself instead of firing off a handball. He is a very good kick and should be also using that to his advantage as well. If he was able to have a higher kick to handball ratio, and slowly improve his tank, he would become a complete midfielder a lot quicker.
