Ben King
It all depends on what happens, re- priority picks with GC this year. If they get given pick 2, then i'd be all for going after Ben King with pick #3. If we end up with pick 2, then i'd go after Anderson and try and figure out how to bring in 2 Meter Peter with our future first rounder next year and possibly our 2nd rounder this year. Either way, we need to bring in a quality KPF as well as a quality mid in the next 2 years. Both King & Wright are over 200cms, so could provide a ruck chop out in future, whilst playing the majority of time in the FWD line. As for quality mids, bring in any that we can get our hands on. I think we are well set for smalls and KPD's. Mids, KPF and good small forwards are first on our list of needs.

Would that not be a 180 then SD?

Craig Jennings Gone at Seasons End
"Jennings is part of the AFL's exclusive Level Four coaching program, which has produced senior coaches Simon Goodwin, Stuart Dew and Brendon Bolton, Geelong football boss Simon Lloyd and a series of highly touted assistants." Perhaps the level 4 coaching program isn't churning out quality coaches like they hoped. Goody continues to captain the SS. Sinking Ship, Dew is currently working wonders at GC ?, Bolton has been given the flick after failing to cultivate grass, and Simon Lloyd (whilst highly credentialed in the back of house) hasn't been able to land a senior gig for some time. They might as well call it 'Business 101' if it's headed by the AFL. Clarko didn't need no level 4 induction, nor has Fagan or Simpson. When it comes to coaching, the good one's (as it always has been) naturally just know how to coach. Unfortunately it's looking more and more clear that Goodwin doesn't.

Craig Jennings Gone at Seasons End
Maybe not this year, but if things continue to go bad, Goody will surely be following suit.

2020 Assistant Coach Prospects: The Next Batch
Looks like the board is putting all their eggs into the Goodwin basket, hoping that their ludicrous contract extension prior to starting the year pays dividends. It's gonna get a whole lot uglier if it doesn't.

Darren Burgess officially our new fitness coach.
Given our 'performances' this year, i'm surprised that the entire HP department haven't been given the flick. High Performance my ar$e!

Are we tanking?
You forgot Goody coaching Melbourne, Oli! That alone should answer your question!

Vale Frank "Bluey" Adams.
Another premiership player has departed us. If we're not careful, we may just end up having no surviving premiership players. Hurry the [censored] up Melbourne.

dumb club
Can't agree more Pates. We've all seen first hand how 'playing' for draft picks affects the culture of a club. At no time in the rest of our history should we aim to repeat what we did in the '08-'09 years. Win at all costs. Pick #2 or #3 in this year's draft ain't gonna help us climb up the ladder next year. There is no Sam Walsh quality players' in this years draft (Rowell isn't, and Anderson has the potential but not yet proven.............Walsh if in this years draft would be in another league to these potential draftees).

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Maybe we could recruit him early to teach Trac how to kick at goal.

Round 21 Non MFC Games
Surely Leon Cameron is on thin ice. For all of their concessions and talent, GWS don’t look like going close to a flag anytime soon.

Brendan McCartney Leaving at Seasons End
In this instance then, i hope Goodwin is right. Otherwise he'll just be leading us further into the mire. Either way......................we win. Goodwin is right and we recover, or he isn't we remain [censored] but he gets the ar$e

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
i doubt we'd be interested in him

Alan Richardson on Demon's Radar
They should be doing a lot better. If you consider the amount of hit-outs and hit-outs to advantage Gawny gives us, then look at how many clearances we record per game, it becomes blatantly obvious that there is a huge disconnect between our ruck and mids. If only Max could rove his own taps.................

Final AFL Membership Tallies 2019
How many of those memberships would include those that are freely handed out at games? The vast majority me-thinks.

Final AFL Membership Tallies 2019
She has never let facts stand in the way of her 'argument'. She has always had ulterior motives and carried a chip on her shoulder. Particularly when it has come to the Demons.

Sam Menegola
Agreed. We don’t need the likes of Hawkins, Dangerfield or Kelly

Brendan McCartney Leaving at Seasons End
Surely Chaplin is on borrowed time as well. If someone of Macca’s coaching ability is leaving, surely the defensive genius that is Chaplin will no longer be required.
-
Sam Frost - Contract status
Frosty brings something different to our back-line, pace. So long as he curbs his ability to run himself into trouble, he is worth having in the team everyday of the week compared to SLOMAC, and twice on Sundays. If true we are chasing Keath, i wouldn't mind seeing him come in at the expense of Oscar.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Agree Jumbo, we need to go to the draft soon as per the rules (and to spread our age profile), and hopefully we don't have a pick so early again for quite a few years. Hope Taylor makes the most of it, and finds us a quality kid to add to our crop.
-
Petracca gradually 'breaking out'
love how he stands up in tackles, though at 96kgs for a mid, you'd expect him to be hard to budge.
-
Alex Keath
He did SFA up until the back half of last year, and has done SFA since. Massively overrated. Pass.
