  1. Made a similar comment on 'ology recently as many of those expressed here.

The kid has it all. Good overhead, on the ground, applies very good defensive pressure, quality disposal, instinctive, great vision and obvious football smarts. He will be an absolute gun.

I haven't been as excited about a young player since Scwartz burst onto the scene, but I see more ability and potential than Scwarta had (before his knee ops) and that's not disrespecting David!

  2. I cannot for the life of me understand why Cheyney isn't in the team every week. When he has played he has been very very good. But then Bailey sends him back to Casey.

What more can he do to get a regular gig in the team? It's frustrating for me, so god only knows how Kyle is feeling.

Ditto. Have been impressed with young Buckshot so far and have been shocked when he was dropped after what I saw of him.

  3. All those questioning whether Brock has what it takes to match it against real opposition should think back to our last finals series.

Chook has had a second rate year, but he has the ability to take it up to the best, he just needs to get himself right.

  4. Wouldnt a freo win make in more chance of us finishing last? *scullly*

We can get the first pick without the wooden spoon if we don't win more than four games.

I'd take picks 1 and 3 and no wooden spoon than picks 1 & 2 with the wooden spoon.

Also, a win to West Coast means they will not qualify for the priority pick.

  5. week after week Bruce wins the hard ball and delivers with an efficiency we can only hope a few of our players inherit.he is so far in front of our next best player this year, davey next but he is not hurting anyone.

    Surely you are joking?

Bruce wins the hard ball.... delivers with efficiency...

  6. Grimes would have to be one of the best young players I have seen at Melbourne.

His Kicking, composure, footy smarts, and hard running is amazing.

    17 kicks, 12 handballs, 16 marks and 5 tackles

Even more important was his last quarter performance. When they were coming at us this kid stood up big time.

  7. I'd debate the call on Morton being stagnant.

Thought he showed a good deal of improvement earlier this year. His last month hasn't been as great but he has also been played as a defender during this time.

He is still very young and has a slight build and reckon he is looking a little tired lately. He also needs to toughen up a bit with his attack on the pill. Expect some inconsistency.

That said, I would say that he has improved, though there is a lot more potential improvement there, it will come.

  8. Understood. But again, who? Who is ready even to start on his role? Is the team ready?

    Again, I don't care.

Hell, I'd prefer to see Bell playing Bruce's position this week.

More seriously, I'd like to see Grimes play his role.

The team is being moulded this year, examples set this year can last with players forever.
