  1. Even though this is an improvemnt, i still would not pick him for rd 1, he is not ready

    Just my thoughts

Hard to argue he didn't do what was asked of him.

12 tackles to Oooze, hard to believe that. On that stat alone he deserves his spot IMO. Prefer him not to be there for round one, but good luck to him. If he tackles like that every week (alright maybe not 12, but you get the point) then i may even jump back on the Yze bandwagon.

  2. It never was started as a fully serious thread; in fact it was done as a bit of a parody on those who you say are "on the warpath".

Nevertheless, you need a bit of balance as well and it is appropriate to question tactics and strategies used - even in practice matches.

I didn't think your comments were serious and the heading gave me a laugh. Other comments I found damn right sad.

I've no problem with questioning tactics and strategy, I do have a problem with people bleating about the club trialling something new in the preseason.

  3. Yeah, I can see how you'd think that. I neglected to mention that he was a bigfooty member BEFORE he was drafted, and he was just being glib at the time. It was some sort of thread about who are the best CHFs or who are the best Power forwards in the last 10 years or some garbage, and it was posted months, maybe years before he was drafted a few months ago.

He came on and mumbled something indirect about Neitz being fairly average as a Tall Forward compared to some of the greats.

I remember that and he really wasn't bagging Neitz but rather saying he shouldn't be put in the upper echolons as a great. It was his opinion and I could see where he was coming from and thought it fair enough.

  4. What really gives me the irrits is that games are already available to be viewed online via the AFL website but you need to be a bigpond broadband customer.

You can get the online replays but you must live overseas and have to pay a fee. They are also not available until 24 hours after the final siren.

I was happy to pay this the last 2 years and thought that while the quality of it wasn't great, it was acceptable. I've recently given up on the service, I get quite a lot of TV online and live in Korea where the broadband is great and the AFL service through Telstra is one of if not the worst quality of online TV I've found and watched consistently. The disgraceful thing is, it's also the only one I pay for. The fact that Telstra charge money for the service and then provide such a bad quality, constantly buffering and erratic service is immoral to say the least.

There are other ways to get hold of replays, so no more through Telstra for me, the service is just too damn poor.

As for podcasts, don't look for anything innovative from these pricks and the AFL site they run

  5. Are you talking about Sean Wight who scored it in the driving rain at the 'G. Best goal I have ever seen. Reckon it was from 40 or 50 out from the boundary line.

Reckon it was more like 30 meters out, but yeah a miraculous goal. Have seen most of our classics live in the last 2 decades (though not flashes this year and that was very very good).

The Jacko and more so the Farmer one are fond memories, but the goal from Irish is by far my favourite.

  6. Not sure how many will remember this, no TV camera caught it but anyone there will never forget it.

My fave goal was 'Irish' sliding on his back and kicking a ball moving at pace on the half volley on a 60 degree angle through for goal in the wet (not certain about it being wet but confident it was) against Richmond at the G many moons ago.

I've not seen anything since I rate higher.

  7. nice topic, pitty people like demon magic only see the bright light in brock. its a shame. Bate looks like a confident young man and i think he will go far at MFC the next viney perhaps?

Pity people have such limited comprehension. Magic was saying only Brock excites him more about our future, in otherwards he rates Bate higher than all our young guns except Brock - and rightly so.

    The next Viney?

Did you see much of Viney kiddo? Bate will be a very different style of player than Viney. The major similarity will be that they'll both be considered club greats in the future but there and the colour of their jumper are about where the similarities end. Comparing Bate with Pavlich is a bit unfair on the kid, comparing him to Viney is not just unfair but ridiculous as their styles of play are and always will be very different.

  8. Just watch the game after downloading it earlier. I'd downloaded the irish coverage - no stephen Quartermain :D

It was interesting for a number of reasons:

    1. The only time they laid blame squarely on a player for a fight was when the irish guy leapt at pace into the Aussies back.

    2. They claimed the Aussies and Irish were equally guilty of unnecessary cheapshots.

    3. The only criticism of the umpiring was late in the game saying they should have shown some reds, but didn't say who.

    4. In regards to the Pearce tackle, they called it perfectly fair at the time and continued to do so through the game.

    5. they were brutal on the Irish coach and the players tactics, especially with shots at goal dropping short and the method of kicking out from full back.

I was surprised, expected them to beone-eyed and have a go at the Aussie when I realized I had the irish feed of the game, but that wasn't the case.

As for the after match reactions, did someone say conmen?

  9. Well, i'll try and get the dvd in the next week but not 100 per cent sure of how to upload it to torrents. Is it the same as using imesh or limewire where you just share folders? Lert me know & I'll try to get it up for you ASAP? Always willing to help a fellow demon.

Any luck getting your hands on a copy mate?

  10. Can't say I know imesh or livewire, am pretty new to torrents, a friend recently put me on to it. But yeah it is sharing.

A quick and easy guide on how to create and seed a torrent:

The first is a bit of a tutorial about the whole thing and how to seed:

Sorry I can't be of more help. Will look into it more when I get the chance

    Thanks again

  11. And if I can get my hands on a copy I should be able to put it on BitTorrents, Limewire or iMesh for the Riot Squad to get his hands on before he goes Grinter on us.

Mate if you could put it on torrents (just tell me which site) I'd love you forever!

Would be a great way to introduce my wife to the game! I'll keep watching this thread, let me know where and when.

    Cheers
