AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
Any chance we will pass? A recruit through mid season may play at Casey until the end of the year to learn systems, etc build a suitable engine and a body of work to warrant selection. It a bit of the âbus stop of desperationâ, unless we can access a kid who we missed at the real draft and think has what we need next year or beyond.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
Wowee,so much angst after 1 loss (a bad one no doubt)âŠor even based on the last 2 games. im going to support the boys no matter who is picked. They are my team regardless if i disagree (from my seat up in the stands) with selection. We have some interesting scenarios to play out, a lot of upside to find, but we ainât done yet⊠GO Dees

We can f-s inside top 20, can GC match or pre list academy players? It depends on the rules if we are in front or behind on this one

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast
That was simply awful. Thrashed in ground balls , contested possessions, efforts and skill. TMac had a mare. On the basis of the last two outings , we are at best making up the numbers, Pathetic. They owned the corridor and we did nothing to stop them. They marked at will and controlled the tempo and the game, Poor by many, bad by the coaching Staff to leave things as is for so long we were done,

NON-MFC: Round 10
I really dislike the pies. Cheats. They throw the ball in tight so often, duck their heads, get all manner of 50/50 frees. Sucks.

NON-MFC: Round 10
A game with zero defence. Both of these teams let in 100 points! Good for ch 7 ad revenue,, though

My 3 word player analysis V Carlton
Kossie- squibbed early contests

CASEY: Rd 07 vs Carlton
BBB looks cooked. Couldnât kick it over a jam tin, let alone from 35m. May have moved and marked well, but struggling to get anything going by foot.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Carlton
We started ok, just couldnât score from our entries like they did. Didnât help that Kossie and Frittate short stepped and avoided a number of early contests, and we were lazy in Defence leaving too many fast 1:1 s. We did our Richmond thing and simply bombed the ball into hf, only for Weitering to mark, uncontested and unpressured. Was asked âcan they win itâ? At3/4 time. I said they can but they wontâŠ. liked the fight back, hate the start and the loss

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong
This year we seem determined to roll back to defend from 80 m back. If we get it before then, then we move it forward, otherwise we are not too upset with sides moving it down to the top of the centre square. From there, our defence has been enormous, soaking up a high number of oppo entries this year. I suppose our aim is to sling shot from here forward into a more open forward line and increase conversion of our own inside 50s. Geelong are good at working it fast between the arcs, which means for us to win on Saturday, we need to: create more contests as they move the ball. Post clearance possies will be important dominate the d50 be efficient going forward lots and lots of pressure and 2 way running. If we do this, I am not scared of the cats. Otherwise we are like a hooker at a bucks nightâŠ

NON-MFC: Round 07
The grand old Duke of York said it best: âwhen youâre up, youâre up. When youâre down, youâre down. When you are only 1/2 way up you are neither up nor downâ. long season, strange schedules. All teams will have mares, and look awful. hope we are setting ourselves for the next twoâŠ.

Best thing? Not hearing either of their putrid theme songs.

PODCAST: Rd 07 vs Richmond
Thank the demon for our defence. Kept the tiggers to 42 points when we couldnât hit a target to save ourselves. Our game really starts and finishes here. questions for the podcast: was that the worst half of football you have seen us play since the âdark daysâ? how did you see Pettyâs game? was that fatigue driven? (Not goodyâs presser answer re long breaks) thanks again!
