Farewell Brodie Grundy
The biggest mistake..imho.. has been trying to get them to be kpf.. dumb as doggy doo if you ask me. Both...esp Max capable of floating across half back or esp half forward as the link from the rebounds. I really dont get why we do this ..either can then pass ( not hail mary lob ) to a REAL forward on lead etc. Its footy 101... baffles me. Anyway...he's off... so be it.

JJ costs them nothing...ia a FA Swans will have to package some picks ( in effect ) for the Bun. I suspect some exchanging of picks... but whatever we end up with will more than likely get used as currency in other pic exchanges etc. We'll be pragmatic...but we'll get more than the 43 some suppose

Farewell Brodie Grundy
I have my suspicions about how the MFC goes about trades etc... You start at where you ideally would like to finish ...in terms of players and picks, not so much the other way around.. So from the desired outcome you trace backwards as to what paths might get you there ( or thereabouts). The Dees are very astute in all of this ( so my observing of recent times.... even Grundy...well executed trade etc...just the result...but the trade aspect..well done ) they understand picks are all numbers and fluid and the same pick can have different values to diferent clubs as they have different opportunites and needs. Its a bit like snakes and ladders...Melbounre looks to increase its value whilst facilitating others ( where amicable ) to do likewise. This is not a war per se...it's a game better to WIN-win..than win-lose. Many seem fixated on a specific value for Brodie.... but it will end up being how anything we get can be further on traded-upgraded when packaged. Brodie for want of another description becomes a cog of a wheel...not a wheel by itself. This is why trade week often takes so long and goes to the wire......because no man is an island..Everything interconnects All picks have a prescribed value,..and an intrinsic value. Going to be fascinating , as always , seeing how this goes Whatever...good luck Grundy...thanks for the visit.

Trade Rumours 2023
I actually think this is very much central (npi) to where we may heading with all this. Yes, the midfield is where it's at ( unless we're talking about the other areas lol ) In our stellar 21 season we were not just a good contested side but we had reasonable success at central clearances. Fast forward 23... not so much. We struggle to go bang, let alone bang bang....bang. Our central work is often stifled.. Olivers effectiveness has been curbed in many games because of tags. He's still outstanding but our overall efficiency is way down. We have depth on the inside but our outside game leaves a lot for improvement. I can see now how a Reid might change that. An irony perhaps is Clarrys absence opened a new chapter. Gave us a look at a slightly different Melbourne. Its not how any player performed or contributed in 21 ( or 22/23 ) it's going to be about how the club sees us playing in 24 >>>> .. and who is needed to do so. Clarry may very well be part of that picture....but maybe he's not. We bemoan our FD for not embracing change...as other clubs do. A number of changes are being thrust upon us....and just maybe there's a few we're still to add to that list. We either evolve or get left behind. Interesting days ahead. Be curious to whats said by whom....( or not ) as this pans out. He may be just going .... nowhere. We'll see soon enough I suspect.

Trade Rumours 2023
I Dont think anyone is ( truly) Those are events having occurred yet not flavour of the cake presently before us. What WAS may not be NOW.. or it might. Point being as they say in finance, past performance may not indicate future. The flip side being ..... not quite as effective since. Now that might improve..or may not. Certainly seems to have been a lot having been played out that only the concerned parties know. There's something very odd about all of this. The most obvious being here we are talking about Oliver. Bizarre

Trade Rumours 2023
Astute observations. The shadow of the devil creeps closer indeed. Going to have effects many don't see coming. Qld could fall off a precipice...the footy world would hardly blink.... but when the horn sounds for the "islanders" to march home....indeed many will heed the call. Agree also that the current team/coaching isn't winning another flag. Lots of changes and recasting to come. I'm fascinated. Will there be flames where only smoke exists now ? As they say... Who Dares Wins. Go Dees
