  1. this is the exact sort of game where they should just shunt everyone into southern stand so it doesn't look so empty on the broadcast side gonna be a small crowd tonite, but we'll cheer loud when the dees win
  2. sparrow had a quarter and a half of leather poisoning in the first hour and then a half of nothingness in the second he either doesn't have the fitness base to play full-time as a mid or he is not working hard enough for long enough...they may seem like the same thing but i personally don't think they are fullarton's clearance work was excellent, he ran hard, and he got monstered in the ruck hore and sestan the next best for the dees jefferson's set shot kicking has gone to pieces
  3. scores level... 6.15.51 to 8.3.51
  4. casey completely gone into their shell and allowing uw$ to control the balance of play trying to control the play too much as opposed to attacking the contest
  5. yes big across the shoulders, and a good size - moves to the right spots to impact play and - perhaps unlike his dad - has excellent defensive effort max gruzewski has all 5 uw$ goals good key forward; bring him home mfc
  6. 2 goals 6 in the quarter to 1 goal for uw$ jeffo spraying it after the siren was poor - his set shot routine looks out of whack compared to earlier in the year dominant quarter not rewarded
  7. jefferson reads the flight of the ball so well pack mark from the i50 kick, sprays the set shot from 40m there's a heap to like
  8. yze is absolute class
  9. mitch white breaks the run of points with a great goal on the move around the pack following another i50 entry from sparrow
  10. sparrow with another monster tackle
  11. hunter has been on in q2 and been super busy on the wing
  12. since i wrote this he's had an extra 6 disposals and 4 clearances, plus a monster tackle that helped set up verrall's goal just now
  13. yze looks a player at vfl level should definitely be on our list (rookie?) in 2025
  14. a win tonight would be enormous
  15. casey is simply not shutting down the space and the uw$ are running into a lot of space sparrow's lack of defensive running shows a real lack of effort
  16. would you hate me if i said yes? i'd have them behind all of bloods, bears, flagmantle, and gw$ as a top four side however, their early- and mid-season form sees them a strong chance to maintain a spot in the top four, and perhaps behind footscray and hawthorn as the next 'form' team and, once finals hits, the season starts again, particularly with the week's break between the end of the home and away and the finals start
  17. well, no that's ONE way forward that's YOUR PREFERRED way forward that's NOT the ONLY way forward
  18. last time we played them a red-hot fritsch broke his foot and didn't return until the final game of the season, kicking 5, but looking very rusty after then having a week off it was the game that melksham returned to the side i don't know how you can talk up browne's comments re the filth that they can still do some damage in 2024, @The Oracle , and then talk down our chances - it seems like pure mfcss runs thru yr veins i'm not confident either, but i'm not forlorn - this season is CRAZY even and anyone can beat anyone on their day bring it on
  19. the afl hierarchy have a cultural cringe that is absolutely pathetic
  20. what's so good - and bad? - is that our run home is up against fellow sides jockeying for positions 5-13 so destiny is in our hands a bit of fortune going our way at the end of a home and away season would make a welcome change
  21. yeah, pretty different circumstance i equate it more like when we got steve may in terms of his experience; houston is arguably more 'credentialed' (all oztrayan last year) than may was when he joined us it worked out well, but only cos we traded one bloke - hogan - and ended up with two premiership players in may and sparrow
  22. he should be at his peak as a footballer over the next 5 years as long as we got something back the other way then i'd be fine with it
  23. my cousin is a pear supporter and he doesn't think there's any chance they'll let him go he's vital to them as he sets up all their play behind the ball
  24. port will want to maximise their draft hand, as they've not got much there... has the afl confirmed as yet as to whether or not you can trade up to two years out, i.e. 2026 picks are up for grabs this year? the longer they expand it the more 'open' trading will be
  25. hope so i love his ability to use his pace and then still deliver with disposal heaps to like about him that's for sure
