Upgraded my internet speed yesterday to 500Mbs (only getting around 300Mbs so I will need to have a chat with the ISP) but the Kayo streaming was wonderful last night and for the tennis this morning.
Getting used to the remote on the Nvidia Shield has been a challenge but I think I am getting close to mastering it. I think it's well designed with only a few buttons but it is very different.
Wow!
if I’m lucky I get 5mbps

right now he has played 3 good games and a dozen anonymous games. if he has a consistent strong year then give him a bigger contract. but right now he is no where near a 600K contract
you don't pay for output tho, you pay for potential
tall forwards are vital commodities and commany big bikkies as a result

what do you think he is worth over the next two years?
we can't have too many on big/biggish money. if he wants to be part of premiership he can't be on 700K after 20 games
he should command at least $450k, and if his year is as good as we need it to be from him, he should be well within his rights to claim more than $600k
he's currently going at a goal a game, but we need to see him imposing himself on the contest etc.
fwiw, hogan was on around $900k this year if he's stayed with us, and charlie curnow signed a five year deal midway through last worth about $800k a year
so if weed really steps up and has geelong finals-like games on the regular in 2019, then $700k is well within the realms of possibilities

Luckily Weeds is a level headed young man. He will take a contract at 350K for a couple of years and back himself to develop and get a better deal.
the rest is media/manager BS
that'd be a terrible deal if he was a manager; below the average wage
he's a key forward, which are pretty rare, and our whole structure is built around him and t mac
i'm very confident he'll sign up

there is no way amazon would be looking at small fry like afl; if he's lucky, it'll be disney thru espn / espn+ / cbs (channel 10), but his best bet is that uncle rupert lives for another three years and he wants to pony up the cash again for nrl / afl / cricket, all of which are out of contract at the same time for the first time (and i'm not even counting super rugby and ffa deals, which will also be up for renewal at the start of 2023)
gilligan is dreaming and afl is just a skinny idiot waiting to be squished by the real business men

spargo knows how to use the footy when he finds it, and actually has some pace - he just doesn't lay a tackle as he's a 19 year old, still developing strength
i personally don't think you can play frost and hunt in the same side; yes, they both have line-breaking speed, but neither can hit a target by foot
couldn't disagree with you more re lewis - the loss of him on the eve of round 1 was a massive blow as he controls our backline and is a must to have someone with a semblance of understanding of where to position themselves defensively, cos hibberd as our other backline leader can't / doesn't do it, and jetta leads by example rather than instruction, and to compare him to watts is laughable
brayshaw's skills are terrible, but he's brilliant at finding the footy - he's nowhere near mitchell's class at this stage
it's one game in, there's nothing to panic about, but there are obvious concerns at this stage
we got SMASHED for contested ball against meth coke, in the jlt match-ups, and against the pear
if you don't win the ball, you always look slow

Coincidentally, Jones' contract is up at the end of this year. I wonder how much of a paycut he'll be taking. I'd imagine the club will be big winners fromt he sun-costs-fallacy here, where Jones is absolutely determined to make good on all the sacrifices and hardship he's already been through, and as a result does the team thing even more intensely.
Hmm, and I can't help wondering where we might find a reasonably young, say 22-23 year old, strong midfielder to replace Jones when he retires in a couple of years, y'know, post-premiership?
i can't help but wonder...if another club offers jones a three year contract, would he take it?

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the performances in a praccie match played in Shepp in 38 plus degrees heat. Regardless, you underrate Spargo. What is he? 19/20? This year is his second year in the big league. A very smart footy brain and mature beyond his years. ANB I have no issue with. Garlett is very secondary backup if he, at his mature age (for a footballer), ever gets his body right again. That's the ruthless way it is if we are serious about winning the flag...and about time.
I completely agree with you, fwiw, but I was still pleased to see Garlett’s attack on the ball and man - something that went missing for him big time in 2018
Spargo is a little ripper but still so young

Who will the Demons target next?
in Melbourne Demons
Traded our Shiel, Lobb, and $cully - there’s upwards of $2m ($800k, $800k, $400k) off the books
