The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
ah, yes, wrong himmelberg although, in saying that, elliot is borderline best 22 for the crows there's no way that they're giving him up for stretch

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Er, no One is a best 22 for a top 8 side, the other can’t make the squad of 26 when there’s only 30 players to pick from

more softening up in the little paper today that gc17 are going to get pick 1 and 2

Round 20 Non MFC Games
only thing i want to see is suns and carltank winning so that the former can't argue for a priority pick and the latter stay ahead of us on the ladder
-
Brandon Ellis (now a Sun)
Free agent = win His disposal = average His contested ball use = atrocious
-
Sam Frost - Contract status
it wouldn't be melbourne without at least 'frostball' moment i still can't fathom how we gave up a second round pick for him - he's a good ordinary player, but nothing more / less he's clearly in our best 22
-
The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
He’d clearly fit right in!

tell peter bell he's dreamin! the coin doesn't worry me, particularly, but pick 2 would be absurd, unless they were chucking their first rounder (circa pick 9) back, and even then i would want to know whether our prospective pick 2 has been bumped down to pick 3 and thus ruling us out of rowell / anderson thanks to gifts to gc17

Brad Hill
possibly but if yr freo and another club is offering a contracted player $800k a year for, presumably, four or five years, then absolutely yr hand is out saying 'first round pick or no dice'

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
from what i gather, footywire has the date of his expiring contract with gc17, rather than whatever deal he had with the demons there doesn't seem to be a consensus in terms of his contract length with us, but like you i thought we were simply honouring the terms of his previous deal; have not seen / cannot recall seeing anything regarding updated terms with kk

Brad Hill
that fact that he's commanding $800k a year says he's immediately worth FAR more than a second rounder

he was a rookie pick originally, wasn't he? i can't see him getting a look in at gw$

Kerr has a lot of upside I think Wont get a look in at Carlton and would probably only be a depth option with us as well, but his skill set is interesting as a kpp forward depth option

Re the Adelaide blokes; Jenkins is 31 at the start of next season, is on big money for the next two seasons coming up, and plays best as third option Fogarty is thicc and thick; too small to play kpp and too slow for a role in midfield - Crows have tried him in all three areas of the ground at sanfl level and he simply doesn’t get involved in the play Greenwood is akin to Harmes - good player but not a world beater

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
If he can get thru the first half of a wafl season in 2020 he MIGHT get a third crack via the mid season draft or at the end of the year

i guess that's because they are, predominantly, positive users of the pill who also work hard defensively brayshaw has a lot of work to do to round out his game brownlow voting means little these days; it's voted on by the maggots and - let's face it - they seem to have NO IDEA re what's happening on the ground, so why trust them with their 3-2-1 votes?

you can't be a 'one role only' player in modern footy
-
The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
i actually think this is a misnomer he's not being played out of position; it's been discovered that he can ONLY one ONE position - inside mid it limits him enormously compared to say, the likes of jones or harmes who can play effective roles outside the centre square set-up but are - arguably - better inside mids than brayshaw as their workrate and disposal is superior

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
everything you said in the opening para has been true of him his entire career he started off his 2018 year in the magoos as a result of his lax two-way running he might end off 2019 back there
