  1. depends on the value and intentions of kalani white, which will be clearer by early part of 2025 given our history, not outside the realms of possibilities
  2. one of the craziest notions imaginable you want him as part of the program, not removed from it
  3. it will be interesting to see he wants to be a forward / ruck, judging from the comments by jeff this morn
  4. this was exactly as had been forecast all along, and as the white family have made it clear that he will approach his draft year the expectation is he'll make a decision by early in the new year the fact that the twins are NOT joining the gold coast academy - at least that was the last bit of news about them - indicates to me that kalani might not be on the gold coast beyond 2025 with the changes to draft points allocation etc. and the plethora of players gc17 have available to them in the draft next year - including the prospective #1 pick - they may not prioritise having access to kalani
  5. jeff white was interviewed on sen this morning, primarily about his new app however, he did mention that kalani will train with the mfc and then gc17 in the coming months he has a big decision to make jeff is such a proud dad; warms the cockles i'm going to be devastated if kalani opts to choose gc17; fortunately they seem to have about FIVE academy picks that they might have access to in 2025, including likely #1 pick zeke uweland i am hoping, with the change to points value etc, that gc17 won't have the ability to prioritise white over him and others
  6. kid is built like a brick outhouse, but he needs to improve his disposal significantly to make it imo
  7. not if they're at 440pm in the middle of winter at the mcg they ain't
  8. much like playing the two adelaide-based teams in gil's round, who plays in the northern states opening round should be shared around all clubs it won't be of course - the filth are going to feature in it as often as the afl can shoehorn them into it
  9. he looks like the prototype modern #1 pick
  10. fwiw, work on the crom's new home base at thebarton oval is due to begin later this month they started the process to leave the old and outdated football park in 2013, and explored four different options - most blocked by local council - before getting an agreement in place for thebbie these things take a long, long time $100m spend, likely to be completed in 2027
  11. Hmm not sure he looked ‘at home’ in the midfield May be the best half back who is a genuine defender in the competition tho - always gets the tougher jobs and is rarely beaten
  12. based on these highlights it's hard to see him not being afl-ready it's also hard to see him lasting until our first pick
  13. a hayden young / trent rivers alike? i likey!
  14. based on the scant highlights i'd say jagga smith most resembles jack macrae, albeit in a smaller frame, or darcy parish he's a high possession player and will, like those guys, go top 10 and be denigrated by some / praised by others for his consistency and quality depending upon the eye of the beholder he certainly gets a LOT of the ball, and that's half the challenge
  15. i don't think we will have traded up to get pick 9 (which will be 11 if ashcroft and lombardo both get nominated for the queensland teams, which they should) to trade out of it unless the offer is significant 13 and 29 (which will be pushed out to at least 16 and 30-something following further bids for kako and marshall) simply is not worth it for 11 11 for 16 and 33? no thanks
  16. i hadn't even thought that draper would slip to 5 the handwringing on here when we take an sa and wa kid with our two picks is going to be ever-present
  17. 5 and 9 Methinks 6 and 11! 🤪 I have little understanding of the kids coming through other than the chatter around them and the highlights videos, plus the underage games watched mid-year I love the idea of Langford and Tauru in those spots but would be just as happy with Smith and Armstrong or Smillie and Allen Seems to be a complete raffle this year
  18. that may be how we as supporters see it, but there's no doubt he's looked at as an emerging leader at the club if you hear players and coaches talk about him
  19. he was part of both administrations tho...
  20. hasn't been the same since hurting his knee in rd 1, 2022 we need him to play a key role in our side as he is, quite frankly, a key playmaker if he's not able to maintain fitness for a full season i have concerns over who will take his role - as seen in the 2021 season, we're a helluva lot better team with salem at his best
